They’ve amassed a sizable list of Steam releases and announcements in a very short period of time.
Horizon Zero Dawn
God of War
Days Gone
Spiderman Remastered
Uncharted Legacy of Thieves Collection
Naturally, The Last of Us will see an announcement soon enough, and they already accidentally leaked Demons Souls is coming to PC in the initial reveal before removing it. It makes sense they’re knocking out all their PS4 releases before moving onto PS5, besides which, there just isn’t enough PS5 releases yet to make that a focus yet.
In a couple years we’re gonna be eating so good. Around 2024 not only will we get Switch 2, which itself will take this golden era of hybrid gaming and dial it up to 11, but we’ll also likely get a Steam Deck 2 around then as well- hopefully a bit smaller, more efficient with longer battery life. And by then all PS4 exclusives will be on Steam, all Xbox exclusives will be on Steam, and even some PS5 exclusives should start dropping on Steam.
As I don't have any PS system, I certainly want them to bring all the games to Steam ASAP, @Ralizah .... Yep & I am delighted with the progress, @JaxonH Just saying it's nowhere near all the exclusives yet & presumably the games will always be on their systems for awhile before coming
They've thought it worth paying SE for timed exclusive deals on FF games for quite awhile, for example (it actually makes me less likely to buy their systems)
@BruceCM
I have a lot of PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 & PSP games. 😛
Currently I have the most PlayStation games collection from PS3.
But my PS4 games collection are the strongest currently than my PS2 games collection.
That's a gigantic proportion of the PS4/PS5 1st party lineup from the past 4 years, the Spider-Man games were notably absent but those were confirmed for PC on Thursday and TLoU 2 is notably absent (perhaps something happens regarding the rumoured remake of the first game).
The big question will be about whether they go for early PS4 era stuff like Bloodborne.
@Grumblevolcano Bloodborne hasn't even received a PS5 patch. Given it was a collaboration between FS and Japan Studio, it might be a long time before we see a proper update to it.
I think the best bet at this point is Sony taking advantage of the buzz post-ER by having Bluepoint remake it.

Sure, @Grumblevolcano .... Doesn't give any schedule, even if all of those do eventually come I imagine they'd want to bring The Last of Us part 1 over before part 2, though
@Ralizah For awhile I thought they may bring over Nathan Drake Collection first with the announcement not in the showcase being because Sony felt that PC only announcements didn't belong in PS events though the Spider-Man reveal on Thursday disproved that theory.
@BruceCM
Tbh Uncharted is.... it depends what you're looking for in a game. If you want Hollywood cinematics and realism, like you're watching a movie you can interact with, you'll probably love it. Personally, I found Uncharted 4 pretty boring after a couple hrs. The story and presentation was enough to grip me initially, but after that wow factor wore off, there wasn't enough fun in the gameplay to keep me hooked. It felt as generic as they come. Aiming was rigid, climbing was rigid. It was a less fun Tomb Raider in pretty much every way.
One would think I wouldn't like The Last of Us, then, but the opposite is true. I loved TLOU- the gameplay was actually fun, and the story more interesting, characters more relatable... it just worked. Unfortunately the sequel did not.

Did anyone try the online test for Mario Strikers this past weekend? How was it?

Well, I've never played any Uncharted before, so I want to give it a go, @JaxonH .... Probably on sale, as usual, anyway I definitely want to play The Last of Us 1 & probably 2, although I've heard about people's issues with that
Knowing about those going in should help somewhat but I'll have to play part 1 & see how I feel then
People keep speculating about a June Direct, but, for maybe the first time, I don't know if I actually want another one this soon. So much stuff is coming out in the next few months as is.
Unless something major is releasing between now and Splatoon 3 that we're unaware of, I'd prefer they just stock up for an epic September Direct.
@Ryu_Niiyama The tutorials were a bit frustrating for me, but things got a lot better when I played the actual game. I wasn't the best at it, but I had a blast playing it! Loved the presentation and art style, as well. However, I wish there were more characters (poor Daisy got left out...) and the stadiums seem to only be aesthetically different. Didn't they say that there's gonna be post-game content? I can see myself getting the full game later on once they add more enticing stuff to it.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@Ralizah I'd like to see a June Direct but I don't see it happening because of how much Nintendo revealed in February and April. The last bit of hope I had was MK8 Deluxe DLC wave 2 as 6 waves = 6 general Directs makes sense but in the MK8 Deluxe thread there's discussion about maintenance happening tomorrow so its looking like a shadow drop "out now" type thing instead for wave 2.
Microsoft have also taken Nintendo's typical E3 slot with another showcase (Xbox Games Showcase Extended).
@MarioLover92 Good to hear! Yeah there are supposed to be more characters. So Daisy may still show up!

@Grumblevolcano It makes a lot more sense for Sony and Microsoft to have shows in June, because their lineups are pretty barebones in terms of exclusives and first-party releases. But yeah, Nintendo has announced so much already, I'm not even sure what they'd stand to gain from announcing more stuff in a Direct.
I'd very happily take a BotW2-focused Direct, but I don't think we'll be getting that. However good the game is, it won't be the sort of revolutionary change for the series that its predecessor was.

I feel like there'll be a Direct because it makes more sense to do than to not do a Direct.
And I feel there's enough they can do. It likely won't be the biggest one, but we've seen only one Bayonetta 3 trailer, one Rabbid + Mario trailer, two BOTW2 trailers (one of which was a teaser, the other essentially a teaser with a minute of gameplay attached to it), none of the single player for Splatoon 3, etc. Also I could absolutely see some NSO Expansion Pass announcement (regular NSO if they got SMRPG) to keep that being relevant (or at least the next Mario Kart 8 courses). So even ignoring the three games coming out soon or new announcements (which I can't even fathom they wouldn't have), there are obviously things to show off. Just add a few notable ports, a couple of mid-tier exclusives, a montage, and you're probably good.
Also Treehouse, they'd likely want to continue that.
