I looked at my past Rise videos too and they never lagged, so something is causing them to lag now. It's weird, the game itself runs fine.

Hmm, we've got a SaGa series broadcast being aired on May 31st.

One remaster, one remake, and one new title are anticipated to be shown.

My assumption? SaGa Frontier 2 will be the remaster and Unlimited SaGa will be the remake.

Looks as though the highest rated tabletop game of all-time is coming to Switch?

@Magician
Did they say Switch or just "consoles"

Cause we all know how "consoles" often means "all consoles except Switch"

Square has a knack of doing $20 ports with one extra character, remastered graphics and a few remastered songs. So rumour has it we’re getting one of those for SaGa, as well as a remake, and a new game?

Sweet!

Yeah, it just says 'consoles', @JaxonH .... Of course, with you getting Steam Deck, that's an option

@Giancarlothomaz surely the video is “just about anything ranging from a limited time 30th anniversary release of Plok or ‘New Mole Mania’ to a shadow drop of BoTW 2 through anything else in between”?

@Yoshi2
I personally will not just depend on Mario games all the time.
I will try also similar games from 3rd party developers to see some different quality and maybe I can get better quality from 3rd party developers.

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

@Yoshi2 I haven't played much of Mario Golf: Super Rush, but I have played a good amount of Mario Tennis Aces and from what I remember, it is pretty similar to the other games in that you could do power shots and special shots. Plus there's regular courts and special courts (like that Boo house court). Unlike the other games, instead of those red spots for topspins and blue spots for slice shots, you could power up any of your shots, so it does make the gameplay more tactical. There's also trick shots where you'd jump and flip toward the ball to increase your energy bar for special shots. So yeah, at least with Aces, it does play pretty similarly to the other games overall.

Now, as for Super Rush, you'll probably have more enjoyment from the regular golfing mode and the story mode. Stuff like Speed Golf and Battle Golf are what's more on the "gimmicky" side, I find. Both games got quite a bit of post-game content after their initial releases. I hope this helped.

@Anti-Matter I really hope you're not using your post as an excuse to say "don't play Mario games." All Yoshi2 wanted to ask was whether or not the new Mario Golf/Mario Tennis games are worth getting or not. We get it, you don't like playing them...you just don't need to keep saying that and spreading that negative energy of yours. Just try to be a little more respectful next time, ok?

@MarioLover92
I didn't mean to say "don't play Mario games".
I have some Mario sports games such Mario Tennis on Gamecube, Switch and 3DS, Mario Golf on 3DS, Mario & Sonic games on Wii + Wii U but I played also other similar games to get some different experiences like Everybody Tennis on PS2 and PSP, Hotshot Golf on PSP, Olympic games by SEGA on PS3 & PS4, Tennis + Baseball + Golf games from Bomberman Battles PS2, Kinect Sports games on XBOX 360, Deca Sports Freedom on XBOX 360, Dual Pen Sports on 3DS.

I didn't say I don't like Mario games.
I still have some interest with Mario games but if I compared how big my interest between Mario games with other games, my interest level with Mario games is pretty low as I don't hold my attention with Mario games for very long as I prefer other 3rd party games with more appeal for me. The only the best Mario games I have ever played was like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Paper Mario 3DS, Super Mario Odyssey, the other Mario games I have just So-So (Not really hyped) but I still want to continue their progress. The worst Mario games for me are Mario 64 and Sunshine as I don't like with too outdated graphic of Mario 64 + really hard gameplay, Sunshine have terrible control scheme for FLUDD after trying from 3D All Stars. I sold my 3D All Stars last month as I have no interest at all with Mario 64, felt disappointed by Sunshine and I already finished Super Mario Galaxy 1 from Wii version. And it was not really fun experience to beat the Final Boss Bowser from Mario Galaxy 1 Wii and I don't think it will be fun to replay again Mario Galaxy 1 on Switch after my butt hurt experiences from Mario Galaxy 1 Wii version.

If you look at my first sentence about not just depending on Mario games all the time, that means I also play some of Mario games but I will not just depend on Mario games only.
I will try other similar games from 3rd party games on Nintendo machines or from different game company (PlayStation or XBOX) to expand my gaming experiences, maybe some other games have better gaming experiences.

I'm sorry I didn't mean to give some excuse to not playing Mario games for other user.

No good deed
Will I do
AGAIN...!!!

Holy crap this industry is going insane! Ever since Microsoft bought Bethesda, it triggered some kinda snowball. Now EA are looking to sell or merge?

@Yoshi2
Lots of great games in that list, but DKC Tropical Freeze is on another level. One of my absolute favorite games of all time, and definitely the best 2D platformer I've ever played. Mario Odyssey and 3D World are the best 3D platformers I've played.

The Mario sports games are great, imo. Lots of post launch content that bulked the games up. Golf has like twice as many courses now as it did at launch, for example. The motion controls are pretty good in golf, but in tennis you can only use them in a special mode and can't control your movement. Still fun though.

I'm not gonna say they're upper echelon or anything, but they're both very high quality, extremely polished and exceptionally fun in terms of play mechanics. And both have single player modes to give you something to do solo.

I highly recommend Splatoon 2 and Monster Hunter Rise though. Or, Splatoon 3 and Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, which are just around the corner. Those games are crack on a cartridge. Some of the most intensely thrilling moment to moment gameplay I've ever experienced.

@Yoshi2, I picked up Mario Golf Super Rush a couple weeks ago and am enjoying it quite a bit.

I do think "Speed Golf" is a bit gimmicky for my tastes (and am kinda disappointed that the story mode almost entirely consists of some form of it, though there are bosses, and optional target shot challenges that I thought were pretty fun), however "Standard Golf" is great & with 11 courses (two of which have alternate layouts, so arguably 13) I've been getting my fill for sure.

Already put more time into it than some of the single player centric games like Metroid Dread, the (individual) Ninja Gaiden games, the DMC games, etc.

In addition to the three games you mentioned, I'd recommend the aforementioned Metroid Dread, as well as Astral Chain, all the Xenoblade Chronicles games, Shin Megami Tensei V, Super Mario 3D All Stars (it might not be too hard to find a physical copy still), Paper Mario: the Origami King, & the Famicom Detective Club games (digital only). All games are exclusive or first party.

@FragRed With EA specifically I think the whole FIFA situation is a major cause, annual FIFA releases likely are a gigantic proportion of EA's profits and moving away from the FIFA branding will no doubt hurt EA because people will for example see FIFA 24 by 2K and EA Sports FC by EA, choosing to pick up the former because to them the branding suggests it's the better football video game. EA Sports FC's best chance of success would be going the FTP route.

Another big factor that applies more widely across the gaming industry is the crash that happened very soon after Square Enix sold their western studios to delve more into the area that crashed. The companies that wanted to delve into that area are now looking to be bought because of the crash (e.g. Square Enix, Ubisoft, now EA, etc.).

@Grumblevolcano That’s really interesting about EA and FIFA. I was under the assumption that EA parted ways due to the expense of licensing. But if it’s such a big cash cow, paying the extra money to keep the branding should be a no brainer. They almost certainly make that money back easily through the yearly incarnations of the game along with all the in game purchases etc.

Yeah I did notice a lot of these big publishers seemed to jump aboard a sinking ship that was already on fire. But the fact they’re still eager to plow further into it really shows some out of touch and desperation from the leaders.
