@FragRed that’s a shame, they were a fairly decent site.
Oh well at least we have Amazon still! They save so much money by making their staff pee in bottles rather than having expensive toilets and wasting time on toilet breaks they will never go out of business.
@FragRed True, Sports Direct gave so much back to the community like how they saved Newcastle and their fans just whine and moan about it. St James Park was such a boring name anyway!
I think if the new Switch is a more powerful revision then it gets announced in January 2023 and releases same day as BotW 2 but if it's a successor then it gets name dropped in May 2022, full reveal around October 2022 and releases same day as BotW 2.
I think it all comes down to the investor meeting, Nintendo can't lie about how many Switches they expect to sell between April 2022 and March 2023 so you'd be able to use the prediction to see what's happening:
Large increase in Switch hardware sales predictions -> new Switch is a more powerful revision
Large decrease in Switch hardware sales predictions -> new Switch is a more powerful successor
Around the same -> BotW 2 and new Switch launches after March 2023
@jump Imagine being so angry at Mike Ashley, the man that bought so many high street brands which have mostly now disappeared. And I see nothing wrong with plastering crap cheep names like Sports Direct all over arenas

The House of the Dead Remake reviews have begun rolling in, it currently holds a 66 on opencritic. I'd say that score was to be expected. The transition from lightgun game to either analog or gyro controls wasn't going to be perfect. This game smacks of scratching that itch for the superfans alone.
I'm onboard of course. Now if we could only get Typing of the Dead. But, first things first. Now that THotD R has shipped, I wonder how much longer it'll be until we hear about Panzer Dragoon II Zwei Remake? It was announced at the same time as PD I Remake.
I, once again, badly miss pointer controls. I like gyro controls to a degree, but for shooters there's a level of effort and time needed to fully getting it and they're generally used as an extra element of already existing controls in my experience. Whereas on Wii I play a lightgun game or the Goldeneye remake or even not quite shooters like that one Ghostbusters game aiming was almost as natural as breathing.
House of the Dead looks to be exactly what I'd hoped. So scores mean nothing to me. As far as I'm concerned it's perfect. Great gyro aiming that allows analog input simultaneously and has a recalibrate button if you wish to go motion only. Visuals look nice, it runs well, has an extra mode... that's all I was expecting, and that's exactly what it offers.
I started The Show 22 on Switch and have been playing handheld. I'm seriously loving this game. It's the best sports game I've played in a loooong time. It's as sim like or arcade like as you want.
There are 3 different batting approaches you can use with varying degrees of skill required, from pointing in a cardinal direction with one of 3 swings tied to 3 buttons, to the same but the analog is used for precise location of the bat swing, to an option that simply relies on timing with the 3 bat swings. That's my style. Arcade like.
Pitching is even better with half a dozen meters and approaches. I found one that's not too hard, but not too simple, yet hard enough I have room to improve over time. Pick a pitch with one of 4 buttons, then start the meter, stop it on the other end for power, then stop it in the sweet spot on the way back for accuracy, and that is the hard part. It moves super fast and there's only a small sliver. Room to grow.
There's multiple throwing options, fielding options, difficulties, 3 modes for competitive, simulation or arcade, you can control every single aspect- how often it cuts to cinematics and announcers- do you want fast play? TV broadcast style? Hybrid in between? It's whatever you want.
It's been so long since I played a sports game I genuinely loved. I've been wanting to play this series for years but, I knew I just wouldn't stick with it unless it was on Switch. And, it did! I can't believe it actually came to Switch!
The graphics are kinda pixelated in handheld but, it's not too egregious. I think it actually looks pretty dang good, jagged edges aside. Definitely the best looking baseball game to ever grace a handheld, and the best baseball game to grace a handheld period.
Initial impressions are very good. I'd decided to not buy digital because it's an annual game, and I don't want to buy a digital copy if next year it'll be replaced. So I went physical for a change. And yet... I'm so impressed I'm actually debating buying it digitally now. Take that for what you will.
Season 2 and 3 content will be available on the eShop Day 1

Targeting full 720p in handheld with minimal dynamic res drops
Zombie Army 4 is our most ambitious Switch port to date. Building on all the improvements we made for our previous titles, we had to push the Switch even harder and come up tons of brand new optimisations and methods of hitting our target 30fps.
For Zombie Army 4, this meant making sure all 3 of the Switch's CPU cores were always in use with almost no idle time. To do this we had to parallelise more of the game and engine code which is always a challenge.
From the GPU side, while we had DRS, our intention is always to aim for full 720p in handheld mode most of the time. So we optimised all the shaders even further to achieve 100% occupancy and improved texture formats to help with memory pressure.
Something else worth mentioning is our improvements to package size. We really pushed our compression techniques further this time and optimised how the content was stored. This allowed us to fit the entirety of the base game and Season 1 on an 8GB Switch cartridge. A smaller package size also means you have more room on your Switch for our other amazing titles 😉. This is something we are really proud of!

I wonder why they chose the Splatoon theme first and then come with a "special" section for Kirby? Why not just Kirby and when Splatoon 3 is arround then Splatoon?
The more the better of course. Just wondering.
@Budda I think there'll be a shadow dropped trailer for Splatoon 3 in April (like there was the January Kirby trailer) and then a big spotlight in a May general Direct (E3 is cancelled so Nintendo doesn't have to do a general Direct in June), followed by a Splatoon 3 Direct in July.
@Grumblevolcano
I think too that some kind of new news/trailer must be around. I just found out that the japanese Splatoon 3 website went online yesterday.
