@JaxonH@Grumblevolcano Yeah it’s definitely a big deal for Xbox, it’s probably the first Atlus game since forever and I’m glad they’re actually trying to go multi platform in a lot of different ways.
An SMT-related game going to Xbox and skipping Switch.
That is... wow.
The previous game was even Nintendo-exclusive in the West!
I usually get annoyed and just end up not playing the game on any platform when something like this happens (as happened with MH World, which I pretty much skipped in favor of playing Rise), but there's no way I'm not there day one for a new MegaTen RPG.
@Grumblevolcano It's highly unlikely it'll be console exclusive to PS5. Capcom are flush with Monster Hunter money, so they don't have to go to Sony for a handout. And there's Game Pass money on the table no doubt.

Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
@Magician You could say the same thing about MH Rise and MH Stories 2 though, Capcom didn't need to accept exclusivity money from Nintendo and could've made them console multiplatform but they did accept the exclusivity money.
If Sony makes Capcom a good enough deal, SF6 will be PS5 and PC only of which judging by Sony's recent track record their focus has been trying to get as much PS console exclusivity as possible.
@Grumblevolcano
Monster Hunter Rise and Stories 2 were never planned to be multiplatform. Nintendo only negotiated when the PC version would release. Capcom wanted those games designed for Switch to target the market they missed with a lot of their other games that couldn't run.
That said, Sony moneyhats every game they can at every opportunity they get, so it wouldn't surprise me if they paid for exclusivity. Either way I'm not expecting a Switch version. Which is why Steamdeck is so important for me over the next few years until Switch 2 releases.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
& probably even after that, @JaxonH .... There'll always be some games not coming to that for various reasons that will be available on PC Given that Sony seems happy enough with timed 'exclusives', though, that's a possibility?
@BruceCM
As long as I have hybrid play, with gyro aiming for games that need it, I'm happy enough.
Though I would prefer Switch if possible. It's just so small and lightweight and versatile. That tabletop mode is killer. Played Triangle Strategy both Saturday and Sunday at work in my office (very little to do on the weekends) and it's like... ahhh!
Having to hold a system in handheld that long gets tiresome, and I worry with Steamdeck being so much heavier that I won't want to hold it that long (though I guess that's a good reason the battery doesn't need to last as long- since you'll get tired of holding it long before it fully drains).
But ya. Thank God for a neutral platform like PC that can offer the graphics of PS5/XSX, with the gyro aiming and the portability of Switch. It's saved my butt so many times for games that don't get Switch ports.
@IceClimbers The antagonistic part of me believes it's proof Atlus have no faith in their ability to deliver a pared-down port of Soul Hackers 2 to Switch. We'll just have to wait for a Switch successor port in four or five years I suppose. I'm alright though, if I get a burning desire to play SH2 (doubtful considering my Switch backlog) I'll do so over on PS4.

To me it feels like they were all in on cheap 3DS development, then Persona 4 became popular and they went all in on PS. Then Switch released and they diversified to PS-Switch. Everything was looking on the up and up...
Then Sega bought them out and pushed their multiplatform agenda, which we're finally seeing take root with this release, but when Sega says "multiplatform" what they mean is "PS-Xbox-PC" because Sega has no interest in supporting Switch beyond Sonic and Monkey Ball. It likely would have been PS-Switch but Sega said no, you're going to follow our multiplatform agenda from now on, and that doesn't include Switch.
This is why I won't buy day one. That just supports their decision to skip Switch, and I won't use my dollars to cast such a vote. I will wait for the Holiday Steam sale and ensure they get as little of my money as possible.
