@JaxonH There's also likely a Pokemon Presents around Friday because of Pokemon Day (timing is usually Pokemon Day if on a weekday or the last weekday before if Pokemon Day is on a weekend).

I played a couple hours of Effie. It's a mediocre 3D action/platformer. Although I like the art style and the voice work is serviceable, the platforming and combat are stiff. And the shield surfing can cause the framerate to dip into the single digits.

Go play Yooka-Laylee instead.

Triangle Strategy is soooooo good! It’s just so good. This demo is 🔥

I haven’t played an SRPG that made me feel this way since Fire Emblem Awakening. The strategy combat is insanely fun and well thought out. It’s a different flavor than fire emblem, with turn order alternating which team gets to move the next character, crits from the backside, follow ups from having another unit adjacent to the enemy on the opposite side (exploitable with ranged units who don’t need to attack from the adjacent square), and a very well rounded cast of characters.

It’s much more story driven and dialogue heavy then other SRPGs, but that’s what makes it so engrossing! It’s like Game of Thrones: Tactics Edition. Political intrigue and sabotage, war, conflict, alliances, twists and turns on the emotional roller coaster.. muah!

I love the balance of story, tactical gameplay, exploration and investigation, and voting with persuasion, all anchored by the Scales of Conviction.

I am so utterly captivated by this game- I enjoyed Fire Emblem Fates, and Shadows of Valentia, and Three Houses… but this game hits a chord with me in a way those games did not. This game hits like Fire Emblem Awakening hit. Maybe it’s the heavier story emphasis? I’m sure that’s part of it. But man… I feel like this game fills a void I’ve been desperately needing filled for years.

If you haven’t played the demo, I highly recommend doing so. And play through all 3 chapters (save data transfers to full game). The more you progress the more it sinks it’s teeth into you.

I assume you hadn't played the Final Fantasy Tactics games, then, @JaxonH ....? You'd probably like particularly War of the Lions

For some reason, that only got mentioned in the Japanese Direct but it's up to pre-order on Steam now, here in the UK & coming to PS & Switch soon

@BruceCM
No, I haven’t.

I own the one on DS, and I own War of the Lions on Vita, but I never played them. I’ve seen a bit of gameplay but it didn’t really appeal to me. I never liked the tiny square levels floating in space, disconnected from reality. That and it’s just a very dated game.

I like the concept, and the construct. I like a lot of aspects about the game, but for the reasons listed above, I never bothered playing. Jeanne d’ Arc, now that one I liked.

Triangle Strategy seems to take those core tactics battle mechanics, and build on it in a way that appeals to me greatly. The levels aren’t square dioramas floating in space, the game has a gorgeous HD-2D art style, it’s modernized with QoL features seen in many recent strategy games, and the story is a central focus with very interesting characters and dialog. And the battle mechanics themselves are extremely well done and surprisingly fun.

It takes everything that turned me off about FF Tactics and does a complete 180, creating something new that just seems to nail it in every respect.

Fair enough, @JaxonH .... WotL on PSP & Vita didn't play very well, TBF But for me as a big fan of the 3 FFT games, Triangle Strategy is as good as a new one of those & I can hope there'll be more:p

So just a quick question. I finally bought an OLED Switch to replace my stolen Switch. I am wondering now in order to get my digital purchases back can I just log into the new Switch with my Nintendo Network info or do I have to have my old Switch to get my games back.

Of course I don't have access to my old Switch since it was stolen and I am not worried about the game saves since I believe those are tied to the console all I want are my old games back.

@Tasuki

You can deactivate your console remotely via Nintendo's website once a year.

Once you do that, sign into the eshop on your OLED with your Nintendo Account (not your NNID; that's not a thing anymore), and it should be set as your primary Switch.

Also, most game saves should be accessible via cloud backup if you're an NSO subscriber.

@Tasuki Your digital games and DLC are tied to your Nintendo Account, not the Switch console itself. So you're good right there. You'll probably need to contact Nintendo about making your Switch OLED your primary console though, as far as I know anyway. That way you can play your downloaded games without having to connect online.

Edit: Looks like Ralizah knows more than I do about deactivating primary consoles. lol

@Ralizah @MarioLover92 Thanks for the replies. It was an easy enough process I was able to log in using my Email and Password the thief didn't even change the password. Sadly my user profile was deleted and replaced with the thief's own. Oddly enough the profile picture they chose to use was Nabbit so I don't know if they trolling me or it's just a coincidence.

Anyway though I have access to my downloaded games again, I changed the password and signed out from all devices. I didn't see an option to make the OLED my primary Switch but I will again in the morning. Thanks again guys.

@Tasuki Wait, did you recover the stolen console? Because there shouldn't be any user profiles on a new console.

I've been tempted to give some classic fighting games a shot ever since Terry in Smash Bros, so I'm kinda considering this. (though if I do I'm definitely also buying a KoF game at some point too)

@Ralizah No. When I entered my Account info on my new console they said there was a profile linked to the account which wasn't mine. It was the thief's. What I figured is that they deleted mine or changed it replace the profile picture with Nabbit.

@Tasuki Gotcha, so they just changed the profile picture on your account. No other information was altered?
