@Anti-Matter Do you know how much your life will improve if you talk only about things you like here instead of thing you dislike.

I personally prefer to see the usual post how you found some girlie shovelware than another dislike/hate post from you.

Focus on the positive ... you are like 90% negative towards gaming on these forums. There is a Unpopular gaming opinions thread for a reason!

Welp my summer is tied up in a bow. Capcom fighting collection pretty much means I'll be set until the holidays.

I'd say wait em out a year. If this doesn't get ported later I'll be shocked. I'm sorta glad as it keeps me from having any hype for it and 2022 is already pretty stacked.

@Zuljaras
I have different interest in gaming.
I never like something that look too edgy or too badass from ATLUS games for example. I felt disgusted instead.
I will get excited for girlie looking stuffs from Aikatsu or PreCure or Sailor Moon or Akogare Girls Collection, etc as my brain has been shaped by Sailor Moon and other girlie anime when I was grade 5 / 6.

Rhythm gonna hit your head.

@Anti-Matter Thats what they meant. Instead of saying what you hate all the time on here (Idk I havet been following) you should say what you like sometimes.

Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!

@Anti-Matter Do you really think I do NOT know that your gaming taste is different so you have to repeat it 10000 times.

I only advised you to focus on the positives as stating that you hate something over and over is boring

Anyway, I am not going to derail the thread any further! Happy gaming!

@Zuljaras Just wanted to say that I agree with you 1,000%. It doesn't do any good to almost exclusively talk about things you dislike. Fortnite and CoD, for example, don't interest me, so I don't partake in discussions about those two whatsoever. I talk about stuff like Mario and many other Nintendo games with other fellow fans instead, like here on Nintendo Life. Those are just some of the things that make me happy, after all.

With Street Fighter VI running on the RE engine I wonder what the chances are of a Switch port?

I mean I’m not holding my breath, but Rise was made on the RE Engine so technically they could put it on switch. (If that happens I will promptly lose my composure and be hype posting like a madwoman.) As is I know I will get it because it’s SF and a fighting game but where it ends up decides if I’ll be day one or wait until the championship edition drops. I just need my girl Makoto to be confirmed first.

I believe the data breach leak said Xbox, PC and PC for Street Fighter. Which, go figure (unless a payment was made preventing the game from releasing on Xbox as intended, which... wouldn't surprise me).

They could at least bring Ultra Street Fighter IV. It's a solid, robust entry everyone would enjoy. As far as I'm concerned they're all pretty much the same anyways. But... no. Apparently they decided nah, let's not. Let's not bring anything SF from the HD era onward.

Just finished the Triangle Strategy Prologue Demo at 5 hrs 45 min. And wow... I'm almost depressed it's over. I need more. These next 2 weeks are gonna be brutal.

I just wanna play some Triangle Strategy.

@JaxonH SEGA releases games for Switch every year that aren't Sonic or Monkey Ball related. It's not "token support." Token support would be what Nintendo got from Bethesda. It's more like Bandai-Namco: the demanding games pretty much skip Switch, and there are some baffling exclusions of older stuff that'd clearly run and sell well on the platform, but overall they're still mostly on-board.

I do take your point that Atlus being pressured into multiplatform game development is disappointing from a Nintendo fan perspective, though. Arguably the only reason support from Square-Enix and Capcom don't also feel dire (considering the vast majority of their AAA output also skips Switch) is because both have teams specializing in making exclusives for Nintendo hardware. Atlus would have ideally occupied that role for Sega, but clearly they want Atlus' games on as many platforms as possible. Although I'm not sure that always works against Nintendo owners. Like, that's probably the reason we're getting 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim, a game developed by Sony loyalists who have spent the vast majority of their careers ignoring non-Playstation platforms.

Although I'm not sure how much of this can be chalked up to Sega, tbh. I mean, why isn't that P4 Arena Ultimax port hitting Xbox Series consoles, even though the original release came out on the 360? Why is a JRPG that, by the looks of it, seems less technically demanding than SMT V, skipping the Switch? Why is P4G HD only on Steam and not on PS4 as well? Why is Persona 5 still locked to Playstation despite a lack of evidence of any exclusivity agreements surfacing? Why isn't Catherine: Full Body on Xbox or PC? Atlus may be the best JRPG developer in the industry, but they have a long, frustrating history of making bizarre choices about what platforms they're going to support with what games?

re Demon Slayer, I fully believe the plan was probably always to release it on Switch. Late Switch ports of games have become a semi-common occurrence, since it allows these companies to treat the release like a second launch and take advantage of some level of double-dipping at full price.

@MarioLover92 It's all good. I just renamed the profile. It's not like the Xbox or Playstation where there is achievements tied to the profile.

I just wish I could be a fly on the wall when the thief turns on the Switch and finds they longer have access to the account and games. I should check to see how far they were in Fortnite and see what all they lost now that I got my account back.

Damn, I forgot how much I enjoyed Nintendo games. I redownloaded New Super Mario Bros U on my Switch and I ended up playing it for 4 hours straight tonight. So glad to have a Switch again.

@Ralizah Persona 4 Arena Ultimax not coming to XB1/Series X|S is probably because Persona 4 Arena is playable via backwards compatibility. Yes I know Ultimax is a sequel but a similar thing happened with Star Wars ports, a load of Star Wars games were brought to backwards compatibility in 2017 and 2018 but not Jedi Outcast. Aspyr then ported a bunch of Star Wars games to Switch and PS4 starting with Jedi Outcast in 2019 but no Xbox release, Episode 1 Racer which never came to the original Xbox did get a XB1 port though.

Eventually Jedi Outcast did come to backwards compatibility in November 2021 but given the future of backwards compatibility was unknown after June 2019, I doubt Aspyr knew it was going to be added when it did.

Throwing Xbox into the equation makes Atlus' publishing decisions all the more baffling. Xbox didn't get Persona 5 Strikers, Catherine Full Body, or SMT III HD either...but then it gets Soul Hackers 2 and Switch gets left out?

That said, the fact that we got Catherine a little later gives me some confidence that we might get Soul Hackers 2 at a later date.

It really is beyond meme-worthy now though. They may as well just be throwing darts at a rotating board.

@Ralizah
The difference is, most other Capcom and SE games clearly can't run, or we know they tried and couldn't get them running (RE7 and FFXV, for example). And they have Switch games representing most their franchises. Capcom has tons of Resident Evil, multiple Street Fighter games, multiple Monster Hunter games, even DMC. Square Enix has less, and I've complained about their support as well, but at least on the JP side they have tons of stuff on Switch. And the tide is turning on their western games with Tomb Raider making an appearance, Life Is Strange, etc. It's still not enough, but... Sega has all kinds of games that are prime candidates for Switch and yet they still skip it. Yakuza was on Wii U, so I'm quite sure 3,4,5 would work well on Switch. Sakura Wars should have followed Valkyria Chronicles, but it didn't. Shenmue never came, even when it won the Sega Ages poll and they said they'd communicate it to the director. Vanquish never came despite Bayonetta 2 and 3 being funded for Switch by Nintendo. And that's not even making mention of Soul Hackers 2, which is the first Atlus game following their multiplat pattern for "all systems" as a global release (all meaning, "everything but Switch").

I've always said Sega is chock full of console loyalists who resent Nintendo. Likely due to the old console war back in the 90's. Which is why it can be a good thing when top brass mandates multi-platform. Problem is, Sega still doesn't view Switch as an equal. Only with respect to more family friendly games. Sure, they've released some other stuff beyond Sonic and Monkey Ball, but not much. After their early day support, we got Two Point series and the Olympic Games? Puyo Puyo? Again, their early support was promising. Shining Resonance and Valkyria Chronicles was great. Then they just kinda said eh, we're good.

Atlus has indeed made strange decisions for platforms, but as I said in my previous post, they'd finally made it to a point PS and Switch were their priorities, and even Steam. And I think Persona 4 Arena Climax is part of that. The platforms where the games sell. Just like Persona 5 Strikers. Soul Hackers 2, on the other hand, is targeting Xbox but not Switch, and that clues us into Sega's multiplatform directive. Maybe we'll see a late port, but the fact they don't bother to treat it as an equal platform (even despite the fanbase predominantly being on Nintendo) with a day one release is proof enough of what I'm saying.

@JaxonH I do think it's kinda funny how even with the games they bring, it's often the worst technical versions (though sometimes easily remedied, other times...not so much) and yet they end up the top sellers.

Sonic Mania was behind on patches and bug fixes for months, and was developed by Tantalus and not the core team.

Sonic Forces was downgraded and still ran just fine, sold the best of all versions.

Team Sonic Racing was ironically enough the most stable version of the game, since PS4 and Xbox tried to hit 60 fps and just couldn't, so Switch locked at 30 at the same resolution as the Xbox and ran fine.

Then we have Sonic Colours Ultimate. A game that shouldn't have released on Switch in the state it did, shouldn't have been given to the team that did Mass Effect earlier in the year (which was good but likely ate time up) and the Switch port of WWE2K18 (which was horrific), and still isn't fully fixed.

But hey, that buggy, crash filled, poor frame rate maintaining, broken lighting version of the game was the top selling version.

Sonic Forces...God knows how this will go. It's releasing on everything and it's mother so it's either built up from the Switch or it's SEGA spreading themselves thin and the inevitable best selling version will be the one they left out back for a bit.

But I do suppose, in a business sense, if it makes money with low effort, keep doing it. That's how EA keeps churning out FIFA on Switch. It's so low cost now that what few sales it gets (apparently 33% where on Switch in the UK last week), must be just free money.

I remember an argy bargy in the Megami Tensei thread about how the Switch version of Persona 5 Strikers was not selling as well as the Playstation's, it was something like the PS version selling almost three times the amount of the Switch version and therefore Ninty players don't derseve Personal 5.

@jump Well of course it will sell less, and it's not just brand identity.

I mean Switch already has soon to be four exclusive Warriors games, loads of Orochi, Samurai and Dynasty Warriors games, plus other similar styled games with other licenses.

Then positioning it as a sequel to Persona 5 was another dulling of the blade I think.

Give a platform a game in a similar style to loads of other games, including exclusives in crossovers from the same developers, already on the system and you'll find it probably won't hit the mark.

Granted, it probably sold enough to be worth it in the end.

It came to mind that Switch is the only Nintendo platform I have which has a Mario Kart game but its not my most played game on the platform. That said, because of the Booster Course Pass I'm sure MK8 Deluxe will easily overtake XC2 to become my most played Switch game at some point before the end of 2023.
