And then Fortnite right after. I made a post saying between those two games, one online and one single player, it could spark gyro going mainstream like it did on Switch after Zelda and Splatoon.
And, with XIM Nexus controller now making all Xbox games playable with gyro (and PS4, if you play on PS4 and not PS5), and many PS games now going to Steam where you can map gyro, and all Switch games having gyro...
I feel like we've made it. This is it. The promised land. I'm playing every single game with gyro now.
Never again will we have to return to the dark ages of input methods, forever wallowing in the analog ghetto

$149.99, it's as ergonomic as Switch Pro, with the triggers and buttons of Series X, the best gyro I've ever used and configs for hundreds of the most popular games. And 4 back buttons.
Screw waiting for Microsoft to add gyro and then waiting 2 more decades for devs to start adding it in and standardize it. Take matters into your own hands. Gyro aiming on Xbox games right now- the heck with waiting!

Has anyone ever seen joycons update wirelessly? I have an OLED, and when I booted up Switch Sports with a split joycon, I got a screen saying it was updating those joycons and they weren't plugged in. Has anyone else seen this? Is this new?
(That's the Switch Sports loading screen background)
I can't get over how in Switch Sports, Bowling starts off like every other game all happy like and then, in the most kid-friendly font imaginable, just says 'Survive to the end'. WHAT.

@Rambler No, it wasn't my first time booting up Switch Sports. But I noticed it wirelessly updated the first time I booted Switch Sports with the OLED white joycons.
@CactusMan That's the switch self destruct code. Nice try. (jkš)
@Rambler Yeah, my sentences were messy. I cleaned it up. Yeah, maybe the newer White OLED joycons can update wirelessly. I've never seen older controllers update that weren't plugged in.
There's nothing to discuss really. It's just two old games remade with a new art style and online, there's nothing to speculate about. Any discussion was just based on the initial announcement and surprise of Advance Wars being back in any form.
Fair points. If these weren't solely 1:1 remakes and added new content like new units, COs and story missions, then there would be a lot more to talk about.
@JaxonH There's also likely a Pokemon Presents around Friday because of Pokemon Day (timing is usually Pokemon Day if on a weekday or the last weekday before if Pokemon Day is on a weekend).
I played a couple hours of Effie. It's a mediocre 3D action/platformer. Although I like the art style and the voice work is serviceable, the platforming and combat are stiff. And the shield surfing can cause the framerate to dip into the single digits.
Go play Yooka-Laylee instead.

Triangle Strategy is soooooo good! Itās just so good. This demo is š„
I havenāt played an SRPG that made me feel this way since Fire Emblem Awakening. The strategy combat is insanely fun and well thought out. Itās a different flavor than fire emblem, with turn order alternating which team gets to move the next character, crits from the backside, follow ups from having another unit adjacent to the enemy on the opposite side (exploitable with ranged units who donāt need to attack from the adjacent square), and a very well rounded cast of characters.
Itās much more story driven and dialogue heavy then other SRPGs, but thatās what makes it so engrossing! Itās like Game of Thrones: Tactics Edition. Political intrigue and sabotage, war, conflict, alliances, twists and turns on the emotional roller coaster.. muah!
I love the balance of story, tactical gameplay, exploration and investigation, and voting with persuasion, all anchored by the Scales of Conviction.
I am so utterly captivated by this game- I enjoyed Fire Emblem Fates, and Shadows of Valentia, and Three Houses⦠but this game hits a chord with me in a way those games did not. This game hits like Fire Emblem Awakening hit. Maybe itās the heavier story emphasis? Iām sure thatās part of it. But man⦠I feel like this game fills a void Iāve been desperately needing filled for years.
If you havenāt played the demo, I highly recommend doing so. And play through all 3 chapters (save data transfers to full game). The more you progress the more it sinks itās teeth into you.

I assume you hadn't played the Final Fantasy Tactics games, then, @JaxonH ....? You'd probably like particularly War of the Lions
For some reason, that only got mentioned in the Japanese Direct but it's up to pre-order on Steam now, here in the UK & coming to PS & Switch soon
