@Kayvoo My comment was in response to you saying to buy a cheap Wii and use its backwards compatibility. It's not really a feasible solution when the games are very expensive.
@Grumblevolcano
I understood that the guy's GameCube had stopped working so my advice was in order to play games he already owns. Otherwise I would scour junk shops and ebay. Lots of the great stuff is quite affordable. Rogue Leader, Luigi's Mansion, Double Dash, Timesplitters 2 are all quite cheap, (PAL). Killer 7, MGS Twin Snakes, Chibi Robo are a bit dear and the only game missing from my collection is Paper Mario TTYD, over £100 for just the disc is too much.
@Kayvoo Ok, missed that comment. Cheap Wii is only a good solution if you already have a good GC library.
On a different note, it still annoys me that Mario Kart Tour is getting so much content but Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has only gotten some BotW skins and Labo support since 2017. 3DS Bowser's Castle is getting added to MKT in the next tour:

Oo gets me mad too! So many sales yet more DLC was released on mobile & Wii U than Switch, doesn't sit well with me at all and breeds even more resentment towards mobile games.
Finally found a setting on Ring Fit where I don’t feel like throwing up the white flag after every level lol. Trying to add a couple of minutes onto each workout, until I feel I can comfortably do a full hour while still feeling challenged throughout. I am still a LONG ways away from that, but there is no rush.
That said, world 3 is pretty hard in the sense that enemies can absolutely rip through your shield and feel like total sponges. Had to go back to some previous zones and grind out some levels before I could eventually get to world 3s boss. It doesn’t really matter, because it is all exercise but just a surprise. I guess it was something I was doing wrong, as I always seemed to be behind the recommended level, even when taking time to do the bonus things as well. I do feel like I am doing it wrong with a few things, really. There are some exercises which do insane damage but they are so easy to do! Then another does like three damage and it feels absolutely brutal, I think damage is proportionate to effort registered by the Cons, so I’m not sure if that is a sign I should swap those out or if that is what I am supposed to be sticking with.
I am also still completely addicted to Loop Hero, I am also on World 3 there and am finding it very hard. Can get absolutely nowhere near facing the boss, but the good thing about Loop Hero is there are always avenues for progression, so rather than trying to get to the boss right now, I am just focusing on holding as much resources I can so I can keep unlocking new buildings/upgrading my camps. You get some really powerful upgrades from the camp pretty quick in, so it seems like eventually I’ll have enough power to progress and some form of progression always comes quickly enough for the game to not feel like the mindless grinding it actually is. I also unlocked the Rogue and while I have seen online there are very specific ways to make them really powerful, I can’t be arsed with that, so I am trying to see how far I can get with the Necromancer. I do like how people react to you differently depending on the class you use, I have unlocked new interactions by facing old enemies with different classes and found alternate effects for some cards based upon the class you are using. Just so many cool little things to discover, I just think this is a wonderful game.
So, I can confirm that the Basstop D-Pad is waaaay better than the eXtremeRate. Search online and you’ll see nothing but criticism for Basstop shells, and praise for eXtremeRate, which have dominated marketshare. And in many respects it’s justified. The lines on the Basstop d-pad rub off, same for their buttons. But at the end of the day their d-pad is way better, and I used a magic eraser to rub off the white lines on the d-pad. And stuck with factory buttons on the right joycon. So ya.
I can’t believe how good this d-pad is. For not having a pivot, it’s dang near as good as the Hori joycon. It’s unbelievably good.
Having ordered several sets of custom joycon, I have also narrowed down who to buy from and who not to buy from. One guy only swapped the shell but not SL/SR buttons or the plastic strip between L/ZL and R/ZR. Turns out most people don’t bother with that. But CMGaming on Etsy swapped everything, and for a cheaper price ($115 refurb or $124 new, or $48 send in your own set). I also have a code for 15% off, CMSTORE15 But I bought their last pair of white ones with the good d-pad (white lines in middle).

@Lieutenant Nintendo doesn't have competition anymore in Japan. Sony killed off the Vita and more recently has pretty much become an American company (especially since Jim Ryan took over) meanwhile Xbox hardware has never done well in Japan.
That is why I find the Switch so fascinating, it breaks a lot of the rules when it comes to “shouldn’t do that’s” but they can get away with it because really they have no real competition, not just in Japan, but really anywhere. No one is quite doing what Nintendo is doing, even misusing the first party lineup, you could argue in a lot of ways if you own a PC, there is limited reason to also own a Xbox/PS5 but I feel like even despite limited hardware, a Switch and PC can exist side by side.
@Anti-Matter Well a lot of their decisions are American based nowadays and their headquarters moved from Japan to America (California). Sony are still a Japanese company but like @Snatcher says, you wouldn't be able to tell without looking back at their history.
@Pizzamorg
Mostly, yea, but Sony is still cranking out the awesome exclusives you just can't get on PC. I know they brought Horizon Zero Dawn to PC, but I don't think Uncharted, God of War, Last of Us, Spider Man, Ratchet, etc. have been. I could be wrong about some of those, though. Maybe the new Spider Man is on PC, actually?
@rallydefault Uncharted 4 + Lost Legacy are coming in 2022 and GoW (2018) is coming in January 2022. You can tell by the acquisition of Nixxes and the shorter gap between PC ports now that Sony's taking PC seriously.
Much like Nintendo will run out of Wii U games to port to Switch soon, there will come a time when Sony's ran out of PS4 games to port to PC and so will likely at some point delve into the PS5 library too.
Based on some of the stuff on the forum I was vaguely dreading the OLED transfer, but within about an hour I was picking up right where I left off on my old Switch on my OLED and my Step Mum was enjoying Animal Crossing on my old switch which had now been transferred into her ownership. A real painless experience.
