Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

I’m almost 99% certain the switch will get the Final Fantasy “remasters” eventually.

@Ryu_Niiyama You’re not the only one. There hasn’t been a single game I’ve considered buying yet and this is now day three of E3. The statement’s a bit weak because I buy less games than some here but it’s still bad…

I’d buy Forza Horizon 5 but… I don’t have an Xbox. I’d get FF1-6 but I don’t use my phone for gaming. I’d buy FF Origin but I don’t have a desire to kill Chaos.

What about Wholesome Indie Direct and some indie games from PC presentation ?
I got quite a lot upcoming indie games that caught my attention. All of them are cartoonish indie games.

@Anti-Matter I'm not the biggest fan of indies, though as I've said many times there'll be one every now and then that I just need to get. Undertale, Stardew Valley, Celeste among others. Wholesome was quite good but there was too much for any one game to make a lasting impression. I'll have to review that one, plus the PC show which I didn't see.

@TheJGG CHAOS!!! Time to die!!! Generic edgy rage (this is why I lost interest in FF during the ps1 era, it’s like the ghost of terrible marketing past is out to get me). The only thing that I actually noticed was there was a Black guy on the team even though I expect him to be written in a bombastic fashion that will make me facepalm the whole game. (Which if not involving a character creators is still rare enough that I take note.)

@Eel you are likely right but the announcement turned a high dive into a belly flop. Stings worse since I been banging on certain that 1-6 would go to switch after they started opening the flood gates.

@Ralizah Trek to Yomi turned my head as well. Art direction looks great. Will have to see about the combat though. Yeah I’m still scratching my head over the FF thing. Nobody thought it might be poorly received? Nobody? These are old console rpgs... what gen z group is so large and clamoring for these on mobile that they would skip the millennials that grew up playing these on console?

@Ryu_Niiyama Barret.... Barret was a good image for Black representation. And his bombastic writing fit his original writing back in the day so it wasn't for the sake of stereotype. This guy, I don't even know if his name is Jed or Ash, it's not clear at all... I haven't heard a single line of dialogue, so I can't judge him just yet. Feels like FF's transition into photorealism hurt it significantly from a visual perspective, ironically. It feels so... soulless and clinical.

@TheJGG liked Sazh and Fang better personally. Still rare though which was my point. I disagree about Barret (especially since he is the poster child of the bombastic mistyping I was talking about.)

The FF Collection is very likely to be revealed for Switch, whether it's in Nintendo's Direct at E3 or separately afterwards .... Either because Nintendo want to reveal that version or it is going to be a few months later Sue me if I'm wrong

Taito have just announced “Taito Milestones” for Nintendo Switch in Japan. Initially excited but it looks like it is only a compilation of Arcade Archives titles that are already released.

Yea, E3 has been pretty lame so far, but we also need to keep in mind that this is an industry/world recovering from a global pandemic. All things told, it's really not too bad. Microsoft's presentation was excellent for me in one regard: It solidified that I do NOT need to ever buy another Xbox console because everything will just be on PC anyway, including Halo lol

@Ralizah Nintendo please show something about Bayonetta 3, the rumored 2D Metroid game developed by Mercury Steam, the rumored 2D Donkey Kong game developed by Nintendo EPD tokyo and Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild 2 and you gonna win this E3

I'm still pissed that Axiom Verge 2 is locked behind EGS for a year instead of launching on Switch now...

The rest of LRG was decent enough. A full Kunio-Kun collection was particularly nice.

The lack of Symphony and Rondo on Switch is still incredibly annoying though. Wish I was more of a Contra fan, we're getting all that.

Looking back I guess in a sense Team Sonic Racing was a tease for Sonic Colours Ultimate. Colours had some presence in Sonic games after Sonic Colours launch (Planet Wisp in Generations PC/PS3/360, Tropical Resort in Generations 3DS and Starlight Carnival in Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed) but then disappeared completely after 2012 then suddenly Planet Wisp tracks appeared in Team Sonic Racing.

Not even gonna lie. The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is lookin hella dope. I enjoy the series somewhat casually, but this one looks sooo much better than any other AA game I’ve played.

Bring on that Monster Hunter Stories 2 demo! Only 11 days to go! The crossover content looks fantastic. The Palamute is a monstie? And that felyne from Stories 2 appears in Rise? I love it. Even the Stories 2 outfits, which at first I thought looked out of place in the more realistic graphical style of Rise… look really freaking good.

The Xbox conference is looking like a godsend next to literally every other E3 conference right now

At least it actually announced things that weren't from games we already knew about or presented in a really drab way

after all the conferences i watched(Microsoft/Bethesda, Ubisoft, Square Enix and Capcom), i worried Nintendo is gonna do a disapointing E3 Direct).
