@Ralizah
Nice, thanks for the tip! I will try Best Buy for Mario Golf, I think. I've only ever done Amazon and Gamestop with preorders, both have hit-or-miss for getting it on release day. I think Amazon you need to pretty much be a Prime member if you preorder and want it on release.
@rallydefault Yeah, I used to use Amazon for everything, but their greedy shipping policies for pre-orders turned me off of them after they ditched the discounts they used to give for video games.
Best Buy's GCU was THE ultimate program if you buy a lot of games, but, of course, they ended that. Still, they're the best around atm, because they often offer pre-order incentives like steelcases and offer free release day shipping for new games.
Gamestop is just a mess all-around. I only use them when they're my only option, or else have a particularly good deal. Which isn't often.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Problem with Best Buy, for me, is 90% of the games I order from them come with a slit on the spine. It’s been a consistent problem for the last two years, maybe the last 3 years. It’s like someone takes a box cutter when unpackaging bulk at the factory and slices all the spines when opening.
I returned the game three times in a row and all three of them had a slice on the spine, and eventually I just wrote them off and said I’m done. Went back to Amazon after that. Though I do still have a number of games preordered from BB from GCU era and still have reward certs to cash in.
Made going digital that much easier. If I’m paying $60 physical day one, minus 5% back using store CC, why not just buy digital with more convenience, 8% off the eShop credit via Raise, another 2% back from CC and 5% back in gold coins from Nintendo... that’s 15% off day one digital. With all the convenience that comes with it (I’m getting too old and lazy for all that disc/cartridge swapping and game carry cases, especially with hundreds of games).
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)

Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
@JaxonH sucks about the spine issue with BB. I'm guessing you know this, but no memberships or anything, Walmart has games day 1 on sale for 18% off. I usually grab most games that way, unless I'm worried it won't be available day 1, then I go Amazon.
@NintendoByNature
Ya I heard most games can be had for like $50. Great deal for sure. I just hate going in store, especially Walmart. And I buy so many games I'd have to drop in like once a week on average. I exclusively shop online now, only rarely doing in store if it's a new console or something I absolutely can't risk not getting.
But it's something to think about.
If they had those deals online I'd be all over it.

It's not a big deal or anything, but apparently they did find some content that was cut from the western versions of the Famicom Detective Club remakes (specifically in the Girl Who Stands Behind).
Not a huge loss, just some jokes revolving using the "examine" function multiple times on certain female characters, one of which seems in particularly bad taste, which you'll know when you see it (some dialogue toned down or removed, and one optional scene removed).

I can understand why they did it but it’s disappointing nonetheless. Some people would find the sexual harassment part offensive in the US, or it would make them uncomfortable.
I’d rather there be parity between versions though.
@TheJGG I don’t really think it’s an East vs West thing, it’s just Ninty being overly concerned about such things rather than it will cause offence. Like a few days ago someone posted in this thread a game which uses the name of a famous sex predator but no one batted an eyelid and it turned into a conversation about his movies and what a good idea it was to do it.
As for what was “censored” it is not something I remotely care about but I’m happy it gives people something to moan about.
Yeah, it's definitely not a big deal, and I haven't really heard anyone complaining about it (at least the video seems pretty neutral, though admittedly I haven't read the comment section).
The only disappointing aspect of it is that since the Japanese release is technically a different version of the game (instead of a straight up translation with no other differences) I'm guessing that's why it doesn't have an English language option and thus the Japan only physical release isn't import friendly.

I'll be honest, if anyone here was genuinely mad about that change, I was gonna put them on ignore by default. Largely because I can't possibly deal with having to go back to that debate in 2021. I'd genuinely prefer death.
