People may talk trash about the Sigma versions, but I’ll be the first to say, thank God it’s the Sigma versions and not the originals. Let me tell you. I have these games on Vita. And even the Sigma versions are brutal as is. The originals made Dark Souls seem feel like Animal Crossing by comparison. My brother is hardcore into the series and I’ve watched him play, and he would tell me how bad the originals were (though he still loved Ninja Gaiden Black). Nobody but the utmost diehard fans would actually want those original versions though. For the vast majority of more casual gamers (such as myself) who want to enjoy the franchise, you’ll be grateful it’s the Sigma versions. Not saying every change is for the better, but if you weigh it, there are far more pros than cons.

Btw... friendly reminder that we have just 6 days to e3 (because as far as I’m concerned, Nintendo’s showcase is my e3). And one more month to Monster Hunter Stories 2.

Ninja Gaiden II on the 360 was a total blast (the very first game I owned for the system, actually!), but apparently the Sigma version rebalances the game by reducing the number of enemies and making them much harder to dismember. It also removes most of the gore and replaces it with a weird purple haze effect. Not a fan.

Then again, it's not like I'm very willing to pull out my 360 to replay the game.

Ugh...

@sixrings Just get a power console. You're WAY too concerned about abstract performance/image quality numbers to be happy sticking with Nintendo going forward, as they'll continue to be the manufacturer with the weakest device on the market. Even if a Switch revision happens, it's probably not going to dramatically improve performance for older releases like this.

Xbox players get to pick which version of Ninja Gaiden 1 and 2 they want. Trilogy for the Sigma versions or backwards compatibility for the original versions. Razor's Edge is the only version of Ninja Gaiden 3 on XB1/Series X|S though.

@Ralizah, apparently the Master Collection has a day one patch that lets you add the blood & gore back into the second game, but apparently the ports themselves are pretty rough (unless the day one patch helps there too).

So Kingdom Come: Deliverance finally got announced for Switch. Sounds like a Pro-enhanced game to me. And Monkey Ball Banana Mania rated again- maybe its actually coming soon.

That new Monster Hunter Stories 2 trailer is looking super crispy

Welp, Axiom Verge 2 is now coming not just to PC and Switch on day one, but also PS4. I guess the delays ran that exclusivity money from Nintendo out?

Shoutout to Sega for their Switch announcements during the SGF presentation.

Endless Dungeon and Two Point Campus look great.

@Shadowthrone He never said exclusive but it did specifically say "other platforms later". Here we are 18 months on from that, and the release keeps getting pushed back, rightfully, but suddenly the PS4 is part of that.

Makes me think it was planned as PC/Switch with others later, but it's been so long that the "later" is now, right after another delay.

Get your wallets ready, E3 Digital Deal incoming. I'm still waiting on those games unlikely to get a physical release to hit 50% off. Grid Autosport, Rebel Galaxy Outlaw, and Fuser in particular (the publisher for each game has disregarded a physical release). Fingers crossed one or all get a sizeable discount.

Started playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma (the first one) and it’s amazing. I’d forgotten how good this game is. It looks so much better on Switch than it did on Vita, both on TV and in handheld. Runs great too.

I thought about playing in Hero mode, but auto blocking doesn’t sit well with me. I’d be down for less difficulty, but not if it’s going to remove basic skill requirements. So far, Normal is providing good challenge that keeps me on my toes but isn’t too overbearing.
