If it wasn't for certain really old arcade games and Street Fighter 2, I'm pretty sure Sonic 1 or 2 would be the most re-released game ever. Just off the top of my head, there's Sonic Jam, I think a Dreamcast collection of some sort, Sonic Genesis on GBA, the plug and play of Genesis games I have that has Sonic 2, the arcade version (which I only know from Nick Arcade), the Sega Genesis mini console, the Sega Ages version, the enhanced mobile ports, and different collections on GCN, PS2, DS and Xbox 360. That's not even including VC releases or whatever other standard downloadable ports there were (I also just looked up to see if it was a 3D Classic, it was).
In a way its fine, most of those legendary series have their early classics ported all the time, and a lot of them should because they hold up, but it does feel like other Sonic games have been ignored for too long. I'm not sure any of the handheld Sonics post-Game Gear have ever been re-released.
I will say this change in Nintendo is very interesting, they definitely seem to be a lot more territorial which lines up with Furukawa's "do or die" comments.
Doing the September 2020 Partner Showcase a day after the PS5 September event seemed to send the message that Monster Hunter has a future on Nintendo platforms, you don't need a PS5.
Similarly given the Amazon Mexico listings, it looks like the new Switch revision is going to be revealed today which would be seem to be a direct response to the Horizon Forbidden West State of Play.
@Grumblevolcano Given Sony has stated they want over 50% market share (which with three console manufacturers would be a bad thing as it's a monopoly), they have every right to be aggressive.
We are already paying $100 and up on Sony games here in the UK, let's hope the market doesn't leave it open for them to keep going higher.

@Grumblevolcano Mexican Amazon doesn't mean much imo, it could be a reseller on there who created it or they are just putting a place holder up based on rumours. If they had it's proper name or a pic I'd be more inclined to take it as real but there's been plenty of Amazon listings that have led to nothing in the past.
@Haruki_NLI I'm pretty sure all three are aiming for 50%+ market share. Nintendo already owns Japan kinda. That's just something the investors want to hear.
@Balta666 Memorial Day is monday, my bosses are all based in America and they are working today. It's common for yankees to take today off though so they have a longer weekend.
@Balta666 It may be different on a state to state basis though but the Federal holiday in on Monday.
I cant be bothered to but does anyone want to check where the Nintendo of America head office is located and then check that states' specific bank holiday to make sure?
@Octane I do recall everyone's friend and favourite Jim Ryan saying that he doesn't believe anyone should take even 1% market share from them in Europe.
These guys are like...legit paranoid. Sure there's saying it for the investors but to Sony it's a view of us or nothing.

I don't understand why Nintendo would announce any new Switch system until 1 or 2 days prior to E3, keep the hype and spotlight more on Nintendo rather than a massive amount of hype then nothing until E3 begins.

@FragRed I can’t understand why Nintendo would drop new trailers to their golf game and garage game days before e3 but here we are. They must have their own reasons even if we don’t understand or don’t agree.
@sixrings Garage Game Thingy I can understand dropping as that game launches before Nintendo's E3 Direct but Mario Golf is definitely curious to not have had the trailer, or at least a portion of it, at E3 with the full one uploaded after.
@jump I find it curious that all these so called leakers knew of this happening but don't have any dates for when it will happen, something they have never failed to mention previously especially as they love to be seen as right if said rumour ends up being true

@Slowdive I mean not saying who you're getting that info from sounds fair, no one is shouting at Emily Rogers for "verification".
In any case the Kremling guy saying 3D Kong is still likely is good if true. It makes sense too as another 2D Kong would just make me ask why weren't Retro making it 7 years ago and it can let the Ninty guys not be worried about having to do something inline with the past works of Retro and Rare, plus there should be more 3D platformers from Ninty too. Yoshi, New Mario and Kirby have 2D covered already and will probably turn something else into a 2D platformer soon, they tried Pikmin and Chibi Robo already but I wonder how Advance Wars, Fatal Frame and F-Zero would do as 2D platformers... ;p
