@JaxonH That's why I put Bethesda as middle ground, outside of DOOM and Skyrim they used the backwards compatibility program on XB1/Series X|S to bring back older Bethesda games to a modern system rather than do multiplatform ports so there's not that much on PS4 that isn't on Switch:
All have sinned and fall short of Gods glory. Wages of sin is death. Romans
God so loved the world He sent His only Son- whoever believes on Him has eternal life. Unless you believe, you will die in your sins. Whoever believes, rivers of living water flow within them. John
@JaxonH Honestly, I don't mind S-E's approach to the system. I'd MUCH rather get (timed) exclusives built with the system in mind than blurry ports of games like FFVII Remake. And while it's pretty much the only demanding port at this point, I'll remind you that they tweaked so much of Dragon Quest XI that they effectively half-remade the game just so it'd run well on the Switch. S-E is near the top of the pile for me.
I used to say that Capcom's support was the worst of the big publishers we have on the system, but, well... can't say that anymore! They're going to be nearing the best once this year is out, with amazing games like Great Ace Attorney (I'm SO excited for that), MH Rise, and MH Stories 2. And maybe even a timed exclusive Resident Evil game built around the specs of the Switch.
While I'm happy that Strikers and Catherine hit the system and am deliriously happy about Nocturne HD and SMT V, I will say that Atlus' support took a massive hit coming off the 3DS. I realize they're small-ish and can't pump out big new games for the system every year, I'd have loved to see ports of older games or even just smaller projects that, in the past, would have gone to the 3DS. They practically carried the 3DS as much as Nintendo did, so while I'm glad they're finally on-board, the change in degree of support does feel a bit jarring.
Oh, and the box art for The Great Ace Attorney looks really nice as well.
C'mon, Capcom, I wanted to buy SOME digital games this year. They need to turn out more lousy box arts like the one for MH Rise so that I don't mind going digital.
I think Switch will get FFVII Remake in some form (might be only on the new Switch model or a cloud version) around the same time as Xbox though I think Intergrade's DLC may have been a way to extend the PS exclusivity past April 10th 2021. Think it's safe to assume if FFVII Remake isn't announced for other platforms at E3 2021 that it's not coming to non-PS platforms this year.

@JaxonH The sunset in the Deluxe box art is a nice addition, but the standard box art is just super boring, IMO.
Colors are flat. Palamute looks like it's falling over.
And yeah, MH4U's cover is boring as well. Another game I went digital on, btw.
World has really nice box art, though.
EDIT: Other than Life is Strange, I think S-E HAS been porting over a lot of the games that are feasible. And they even seem to be porting that series over now. I have to wonder if they won't port Kingdom Hearts and Tomb Raider because the connected story sequels wouldn't work well on the system, though. KH3 would require a lot of work to run on the system, and the later Tomb Raider games don't even run particularly well on the last-gen power consoles.
@Slowdive Yeah, the E3 2021 list pretty much suggests studios also prefer the week packed full of announcements approach over last year's spreading announcements very thinly over 4 months which is nice to see. EA will probably do the thing where while they're not officially part of E3, their event is in the timeframe of E3.
Who knows about Sony though, the timeframe of E3 2019 didn't have much meanwhile what would've had been the timeframe of E3 2020 had the big PS5 Future of Gaming event.
I'm actually kinda surprised The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles is doing so well. It's the second best-selling game on Amazon atm, under New Pokemon Snap. Of course, it'll sink once the preorder surge ends, but it's doing really well.
Ace Attorney is a known property, but it's not, like, a mammoth I.P., so it's heartening to see how excited people clearly are about it.
I'm really happy and surprised to hear that. Ace Attorney has been the most beloved but not particularly popular series since it released outside of Japan 15 years ago and AFAIK that's never really changed.
Maybe an actual new release outside of Japan (and hyped as such) has helped, combined with being the first "new" AA game on Switch. I really do hope it does super well, especially since it would probably be a really good jumping on point for the series.
@kkslider5552000 The physical release probably helps, too. Likely makes it feel more like a 'real' release to some people, instead of something just unceremoniously dumped on the eshop.
Interesting how the physical is only on Switch (in America, at least). Even if the property is going multiplat, I think Capcom is still expecting it to be lapped up primarily by Nintendo fans.
Best case scenario: this does super well, and Capcom is motivated to port over the other games (including the Investigations spinoffs) and new games become much more major releases. Not RE/MH level, obviously, but it'd be nice to never have to worry about whether a game in this series will be localized again.
Just got a Nintendo survey email asking for input regarding impressions of Mario Bros 35th anniversary. I imagine plenty of people will have some pointed remarks regarding absence of Mario Galaxy 2, and the limited run of Mario 3D All-Stars, whish has ended.

Not trying to encourage trolling, but I thought it was amusing. I took the survey.
I don’t get it. I do, but I don’t. I get the initial reactions, but what I don’t get is how people cling to that and won’t let it go. This isn’t directed at anyone here, but seeing the topic brought up, I just feel compelled to share my honest thoughts.
Like, we get Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario 3D World and Mario Odyssey, and instead of being ecstatic of having all these Mario games on a single hybrid system, people complain about the one game that isn’t on the system. And make it a point to complain about it at any given opportunity.
And Mario 3D All Stars, The game that was available for an entire half year and literally everyone has had every opportunity to buy, the game that has 10 million copies in the wild and even now can still be bought on certain retail sites because there’s so many of them... But people still complain. Like, it’s not affecting you. At first the argument was, “it’s gonna be limited and sold out” which ok, that’s a reasonable fear, but that turned out to not be the case- it was overwhelmingly available by the truckload at every single retailer for months and months on end. People had every opportunity to buy it. Not only that, but if you purchased it digitally you can still re-download it just like any other purchased game. But people still complain.
It just leads me to believe people like complaining. That may sound cross and again, that’s definitely not directed at anyone here- just a general observation.
And that’s not to say that I think people are wrong for not wanting the game to be limited, or that I think people are wrong for wanting SMG2, because I actually agree with both of those sentiments. It’s not the opinion that I can’t understand, it’s the fact that people latch onto it and act like it is such a big deal when it hasn’t even affected them. That, and not being grateful for the dozen Mario games we have but instead endlessly complaining about the one single game we don’t, it’s just... ya.
I feel like my issue is with degree of reaction, not the reaction itself. I can join others in agreeing I want SMG2, but given the fact I have all these other Mario games, I’m not going to waste too much of my time complaining about it because I’ve been blessed in abundance with virtually every other mainline game in the last 35 years. I’ll politely mention I would like to see it on their Twitter, but that’s about as far as I’ll take it. And the limited availability thing, it seems like people are upset on behalf of a group of hypothetical others who will miss out. It can’t be on behalf of them selves because everybody had every opportunity to buy it and even now still does. And seeing a majority outraged on behalf of a minority that aren’t even upset themselves, I think that’s what irked me most. That and all the content creators pushing the same narrative, covering it endlessly, telling people how upset they should be about it, thriving on needless conflict, milking it for all its worth.

God so loved the world He sent His only Son- whoever believes on Him has eternal life. Unless you believe, you will die in your sins. Whoever believes, rivers of living water flow within them. John
Personally I do find 3D All Stars as a collection just odd because it's missing out on Galaxy 2, it's like looking at the picture on a jigsaw but there's still a bunch of pieces missing. Still I bought 3D All Stars less of a collection of Mario games and more as a copy of Sunshine with other games attached to it.
In any case people will complain regardless even if Galaxy 2 was on it with something else taking it's place. Why is Joker in Smash but Persona isn't on Switch, why doesn't Mario Kart 8 have DLC, why is the content rubbish in an update of a game I don't own, why is there no story in Zelda, why are Platinum Games making games for other systems, why did they ruin Zelda by releasing Age of Calamity etc.
So out of nowhere Super Mario Party got a new update making a lot more of the content playable online. 70/80 minigames, 2v2 mode (Partner Party) and the main Mario Party mode (as in the traditional board gameplay).
