@kkslider5552000 The physical release probably helps, too. Likely makes it feel more like a 'real' release to some people, instead of something just unceremoniously dumped on the eshop.
Interesting how the physical is only on Switch (in America, at least). Even if the property is going multiplat, I think Capcom is still expecting it to be lapped up primarily by Nintendo fans.
Best case scenario: this does super well, and Capcom is motivated to port over the other games (including the Investigations spinoffs) and new games become much more major releases. Not RE/MH level, obviously, but it'd be nice to never have to worry about whether a game in this series will be localized again.
Just got a Nintendo survey email asking for input regarding impressions of Mario Bros 35th anniversary. I imagine plenty of people will have some pointed remarks regarding absence of Mario Galaxy 2, and the limited run of Mario 3D All-Stars, whish has ended.

Not trying to encourage trolling, but I thought it was amusing. I took the survey.
I don’t get it. I do, but I don’t. I get the initial reactions, but what I don’t get is how people cling to that and won’t let it go. This isn’t directed at anyone here, but seeing the topic brought up, I just feel compelled to share my honest thoughts.
Like, we get Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, Super Mario World, Mario 64, Mario Sunshine, Mario Galaxy, Mario 3D World and Mario Odyssey, and instead of being ecstatic of having all these Mario games on a single hybrid system, people complain about the one game that isn’t on the system. And make it a point to complain about it at any given opportunity.
And Mario 3D All Stars, The game that was available for an entire half year and literally everyone has had every opportunity to buy, the game that has 10 million copies in the wild and even now can still be bought on certain retail sites because there’s so many of them... But people still complain. Like, it’s not affecting you. At first the argument was, “it’s gonna be limited and sold out” which ok, that’s a reasonable fear, but that turned out to not be the case- it was overwhelmingly available by the truckload at every single retailer for months and months on end. People had every opportunity to buy it. Not only that, but if you purchased it digitally you can still re-download it just like any other purchased game. But people still complain.
It just leads me to believe people like complaining. That may sound cross and again, that’s definitely not directed at anyone here- just a general observation.
And that’s not to say that I think people are wrong for not wanting the game to be limited, or that I think people are wrong for wanting SMG2, because I actually agree with both of those sentiments. It’s not the opinion that I can’t understand, it’s the fact that people latch onto it and act like it is such a big deal when it hasn’t even affected them. That, and not being grateful for the dozen Mario games we have but instead endlessly complaining about the one single game we don’t, it’s just... ya.
I feel like my issue is with degree of reaction, not the reaction itself. I can join others in agreeing I want SMG2, but given the fact I have all these other Mario games, I’m not going to waste too much of my time complaining about it because I’ve been blessed in abundance with virtually every other mainline game in the last 35 years. I’ll politely mention I would like to see it on their Twitter, but that’s about as far as I’ll take it. And the limited availability thing, it seems like people are upset on behalf of a group of hypothetical others who will miss out. It can’t be on behalf of them selves because everybody had every opportunity to buy it and even now still does. And seeing a majority outraged on behalf of a minority that aren’t even upset themselves, I think that’s what irked me most. That and all the content creators pushing the same narrative, covering it endlessly, telling people how upset they should be about it, thriving on needless conflict, milking it for all its worth.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Personally I do find 3D All Stars as a collection just odd because it's missing out on Galaxy 2, it's like looking at the picture on a jigsaw but there's still a bunch of pieces missing. Still I bought 3D All Stars less of a collection of Mario games and more as a copy of Sunshine with other games attached to it.
In any case people will complain regardless even if Galaxy 2 was on it with something else taking it's place. Why is Joker in Smash but Persona isn't on Switch, why doesn't Mario Kart 8 have DLC, why is the content rubbish in an update of a game I don't own, why is there no story in Zelda, why are Platinum Games making games for other systems, why did they ruin Zelda by releasing Age of Calamity etc.
So out of nowhere Super Mario Party got a new update making a lot more of the content playable online. 70/80 minigames, 2v2 mode (Partner Party) and the main Mario Party mode (as in the traditional board gameplay).
Even though it's Golden Week in Japan, the sales on the Japanese eShop are really lackluster. Battle Princess Madelyn for 100 yen is dope, but I've already got two copies of that game. I've got gold coins burnin' a hole in my Japanese wallet, Nintendo! Anywho, I suppose it can wait until my quarterly import order arrives in late May.

@Anti-Matter Okay, now I'm confused. What's wrong with a game being on sale during golden week? Does that suddenly make it not worth playing? We don't even know which games will be on sale yet.
@link3710 To save you the wall of text how he is a "different gamer" and how he was a victim of R-rated games ... so he only plays kids games and he will never "back down".
@Zuljaras I'm well aware of all that, I've been posting here for... Uh... Wow, gotta be close to 7 years now, seen it before lol. My question was more that plenty of golden week games do fit all that criteria, it's not like it's all about m games or anything.
@link3710 He doesn't do digital either but he probably just thought those games were the ones on sale and wanted to work in his comments about being different again.
To be honest I could see him liking Atelier as it's cute girls in dresses but hey ho, it's his loss.
Don't be upset with Anti-Matter, he's just mad I poo poo'd on the upcoming Switch release of Miitopia.
Edit: Correction, Miitopia, not Miiverse. Honestly, part of me misses Miiverse. I loved having all my posts routinely deleted. "Would someone please think of the children?!"
@link3710
Well, nothing wrong but when i saw the games titles from Golden Week list, i saw nothing interesting based on the games titles. I could imagine what kind of games from their titles.
