Was going through the list of upcoming games, and noticed something called Arkham Horror: Mother's Embrace. I thought it'd just be a digital version of the classic board game (which wouldn't be a bad thing; time requirement aside, Arkham Horror is one of my favorite board games), but it seems to feature turn-based combat and some limited amount of exploration? It looks pretty cool. Hopefully it reviews well.

@BruceCM Yeah. They typically just do straight digital conversions of board games, so it's interesting to see some sort of narrative-driven RPG experience coming from them.

“We wanted to do it right, as opposed to just doing it for the sake of doing it, if that makes any sense,” said vice president of Natsume Inc. operations Graham Markay. “So I’m fairly confident, 99%, it’ll be in the next game.”
Hmm, I think just putting it in because it seems to be the obvious thing to do would make more sense.
Nastume hasn't had a clue what it's been doing with the Harvest Moon license for quite some time, so no shock there. They seem to think that every entry must cram as many systems into it as possible: Shape every speck of land! Move your farm onto a mountaintop! Build everything ever created!
And now XSEED seems to have laid an egg with Olive Town if the Japanese complaints are to be believed.
Meanwhile one dude continues to eat everyone's lunch with Stardew Valley. Some of these big devs stand to learn a lot from fan passion.
It's like... dang. Harvest Moon was awesome at first because it was focused. Simple. And the successful sequels just gave everything more depth. Different seeds to sow, livestock to raise. Better dialogue and more and detailed events and festivals. Ok, maybe some Harvest Sprite stuff as long as it's not too crazy. Really cool towns and people to interact with. More of the mines was always fun. That's the stuff that kept fans playing. Almost any Harvest Moon fan will say their favorite game in the series is from the first half-dozen games, nearly guaranteed. For me, the series was dead beyond HM64, but I'm especially pessimistic lol
@Rambler
Oh, well.
I already knew it.
I will disguise as Female player to get married with Bachelors.
I found 2 Bachelors from One World caught my attention.
Word round the campfire is that Forever Entertainment obtained a contract to remake multiple dormant Square Enix IP for current consoles. Hmm, so many possibilities. Personally my top two hopefuls would be Legacy of Kain (anything, lord please) and Actraiser (yes, please yes). I figure if it were anything Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest related S-E would handle those themselves rather than contract them out.

Just got Fallen Legion: Revenants and... I’m really impressed. It’s a lot better than I was expecting based on reviews.
I played the first game, but this sequel is a noticeable step up. Visually it’s superb. It really feels like they designed the game ground up for Switch this time. Either that or they’re really skilled. The game looks immaculate in handheld mode. I can’t even spot a single thing to criticize visually. It looks super crisp and sharp, to the point I can see tiny little details on faces you normally can’t see in handheld mode because of slightly lower resolution. This is snap crackle pop scrumpdittly-umptious.The audio is good, voice acting is good, gameplay is not only unique, but really fun and addictive.
It’s hard to recommend given we’re smack dab in the middle of Mario 3D World, Bravely Default 2, Persona 5 Strikers, Crash 4, Apex Legends and Monster Hunter Rise. But I feel like the game is good enough that it at least deserves a mention. I’m pretty sure there’s a demo on the eshop, so if anybody’s interested I recommend you check it out and see for yourself.

@rallydefault Rune Factory is the only property connected to Harvest Moon worth caring about at this point. It's crazy how good RF5 looks, based on the little bit we've seen of it.

@TheJGG Um... Dragon Quest VIII at least was made by Level-5, not in-house, so I know that's not true.
@Magician I'm honestly betting on classic Lara Croft games making a comeback. I know most people don't think of that series when they think Square, but it's definitely one I could see them shipping out of house.
HARVEST MOON ONE WORLD First Gameplay on Switch !!
Surprisingly, the game was running on 60 fps ! 😲
Also, your character's parents being shown and talked to you.
The first impression was looked okay so far.
I noticed the time elapsed looked quite fast.10 minutes there = 5 seconds here
@link3710 Yeah, the next Crystal Dynamics game is going to bridge the reboot trilogy and the classic games but availability of the games before the reboot trilogy is quite the mess.
Tomb Raider (1996) - Angel of Darkness: Newest console they are playable on is PS3 via backwards compatibility.
Legend - Underworld: Newest console they are playable on is Series X|S because Microsoft focused on backwards compatibility in the XB1 era. Outside of Xbox, the newest console they are on is original platforms (PS3/Wii).
Angel of Darkness was poorly received so I don't see that reappearing but the 5 PS1 titles I could see remakes happening for.
@Ralizah
Rune Factory is good, yea. I don't usually play those games unless I'm in that mood, though. They are quite different. But that franchise has proven itself.
I scratch my itch with Stardew Valley and SoS: Friends of Mineral Town these days. Like a lot of old HM fans, I'll just keep holding out hope for that one game that truly hearkens back to the magic of the original/GameBoy/HM64 vibe. I think XSEED/Marvelous did a great job with the Mineral Town remake.
Really, though, part of me wonders if Stardew Valley is the pinnacle of the genre and the "best" game we'll ever see, at least for quite some time. There is always potential in introducing a new area, new people, some creative new dynamic. That's always out there. I just don't see it happening any time soon.
@TheJGG Not to be that guy, but Omega Force did the heroes games, IX was Level-5, II-V were Spike Chunsoft, and ArtePiazza is a codeveloper on basically every numbered title. Oh and Tose makes the DQ Monsters series. Very few games are entirely in-house.
@link3710 No worries, I stand very corrected. In that case my claim can be tweaked: that the same core staff have worked on it for thirty five years. Especially Yuji Horii, and Koichi Sugiyama. The latter denies the Nanjing Massacre, which is already controversial...
