If you're a Nintendo fan, you've already bought all the games being delisted on the 31st. Mario 35th, Super Mario 3D All-Stars, and Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon and the Blade of Light. It's only unfortunate for late adopters of the platform. I think their being delisted is ridiculous but it's classic "Nintendo being Nintendo."

Nintendo doing things such as this shouldn't be a surprise for anyone familiar with the company.

Switch Physical Collection - 1,555 games (as of March 31st, 2026)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)

@Magician Uh...bought Mario 35th? That's the one game that Nintendo really is smashing up lol.

Bought, or clicked "download", same difference. You cheeky so-n-so.

@Magician My point was more that it doesn't matter if someone downloaded it or not before the end of the month it still won't be playable either way lol

@Magician

Ah, I see. Although it makes me wonder about the physical release for Fire Emblem. Will those download codes be honored past the the 31st? I assume they will be, but you know what they say about assumptions.

@Shadowthrone Nintendo did communicate this very well though. As much as I disagree with the tactic they’ve communicated it like it should have been.

Nintendo will start March 31st off with a tweet that's just a video of the Nintendo headquarters PS1 Crash commercial.

@FragRed Never seen any Asterix related media but I enjoyed the scott pilgrim game so maybe!

@FragRed Aye, count me in. I happened to hit up Microids on Twitter this avo to ask when the Asterix XXL Collection was releasing, then I went back later to see if they'd replied (they haven't 😭) and saw their tweet about this 2D game. Coincidence.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@gcunit According to Amazon U.K., the Switch collection of Asterix XXL was 27th May. Does that help?

@FragRed I had seen that, but I hadn't seen anything official from Microids. It was due to release in 2020 originally, so I was hoping for some reassurance from the publisher.

@gcunit Odd. It’s just a collection so I’m not sure what the hold up would be.

@Grumblevolcano No wonder, that was dreadful. And they’re promoting Mario 35 which is being removed in a week? This is going to be incredibly dated in such a short amount of time.

It's almost as if they're building to some sort of announcement...

@gcunit That announcement is "We are removing Mario 35 today and it ain't coming back" followed by a whole week more of Nintendo Life articles on the subject
