@JaxonH that make sense, Capcom, don't want two game of it franchises competing with sales, is like Capcom anouncing Monster Hunter 6, when Monster Hunter Rise is still selling well or fresh in people minds.
@Ralizah@TheFrenchiestFry
Oops, think I got confused between vids, as I was watching a few. Here’s the Switch footage (looks basically the same anyways).
Also, load times are only like an extra 5 seconds I think (one showed 4 seconds extra, another 6 seconds extra), nothing of note really.

@Budda Looks like neon red to me as well. I'm expecting it to look like that in real life too, but if you really wanna make sure, you could wait for an unboxing video.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
@rallydefault Don't need to be to have a good experience with a multiplat. I am one of the rare breeds of Nintendo Life readers who owns more than one console and a PC
I don't really go anywhere right now, but I just seem to enjoy playing games more on a hybrid device.
I was thinking about trying to preorder an RTX 3060 next month (my preference would be the 3060 Ti, but god only knows when those will be available for MSRP, lol), but the more I think about it, the more I realize that, maybe outside of Cyberpunk, I'm not really going to need it for anything this year. The PC games I'm playing this year are really, really rudimentary stuff - older Trails and Ys games, some adventure games, the last gen Deus Ex game, etc. And the rest of the time, I'm going to be spending on my Switch. So why put out hundreds of dollars just so I can play CDPR's disappointing sci-fi shooter in a timely fashion?
Although I have an SSD now, so load times in P5S would pretty much evaporate on my rig, I imagine.
EDIT: I wish to god I could get remote play to work well. I'd seriously use it so much. My Vita is always close by, but streaming never seems to work well on it. Even when I use direct connect and sit a couple of feet away from the PS4. :/
@Ralizah Yeah same. Honestly I've never even gone out with my Switch in general. It's either up in my room or in the dock downstairs in my basement
I've literally never brought it out in public outside the instance where I go on a road trip or travel
I've been spending a lot more time PC gaming instead as of late and honestly out of my consoles, I've used my PS4 considerably more in the past two years compared to my Switch
Also I actually played like a good 30-40 hours of P5R on Vita remote play and think that feature was severely underrated in general. Honestly sucks that Sony won't come out with a new PSP for a while
@Ralizah My best experience of using remote play is by playing over LAN (i.e. whatever the other option to 'Direct Play' is called) and having my PS4 wired to the router. Then, with good WiFi connection on my Vita, I can play Gran Turismo Sport no problem.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@Ralizah
Oh my gosh. Remote play Persona 5 was so disastrously bad I never picked up my Vita since. And in fact, that’s when I quit playing Persona 5 also. 360p resolution with quarter to half second lag, and missing buttons. I was so frustrated playing at work I threw the Vita in my droor, scratched the screen and had to order a new one to replace it. That’s the last time I ever tried to use remote play for anything. And that’s why I quit playing Persona because I was super addicted to it at the time (hence me trying to play at work on my Vita). Once I realized it was going to strictly be an at home experience, I just lost interest.
I don’t play my PC nearly as often as Switch, but I do use it for Monster Hunter World, and played some of Cyberpunk, Trials Fusion, etc. Was playing the first Trails game for a while, too. But last year I had far fewer Switch games to play. This year is gonna be relentless. I’ve played literally nothing else except Monster Hunter Rise since the demo dropped. And with the lineup as it is I don’t think I’m gonna touch another system this entire year. Any Steam games or PS5 games are gonna have to go to backlog, as will most of the actual Switch games releasing too. Because as much as I like to deceive myself into believing I can keep up with all the games I buy, I know good and well Atelier Ryza 2, Mario 3D World, Bravely Default 2, Persona 5 Strikers, Monster Hunter Rise, Pokémon Snap, and Trails of Cold Steel 4 will be MORE than I can finish this year (though I still need to finish Trails 3 before playing 4) and that’s just the small handful of games releasing in Q1. The other 3 quarters are backlog fodder (except MH Stories 2 and SMTV, those WILL get some playtime... I’ll find a way, somehow). And that’s kind of unfortunate because there are a lot of other really hype games releasing I just won’t have time for. I always pop them in and play for an hour or so, but anything more than that just isn’t gonna happen.
I take my Switch Lite to work every single day- magnetic flip case, back jeans pocket. Played yesterday at the dealership getting my tires re-balanced since they got it wrong the first time- that was 2 hrs of Monster Hunting glory, played at the dentist on Wednesday too, but playing outside of home or work isn’t too frequent. Nice to have when the situation arises though. Still, I play handheld mode at home all the time. Switch on the tv, Switch Lite next to me, bouncing between games. Love the pick up and play nature of a handheld, even when at home. Of course, it also gets brought into the kitchen a lot too.
@TheFrenchiestFry
Uh... Comcast is an internet provider. I was making a joke about your joke. You were mocking people who aren't big into streaming games. Comcast recently implemented a system that further monetizes your internet usage on top of the plan you already pay for. Streaming takes up a good bit of data; a gaming regimen heavy on streaming will likely subject you to overage charges using Comcast and other internet services providers that charge for overages. I thought your comment was fairly short sighted and ignorant of the realities a lot of people face with internet charges.
I don't know what you're talking about with multiplats and consoles.
@TheFrenchiestFry I'll take my Lite out. It's the reason I bought it (right before a pandemic shut me inside 95% of the time, lmao). The base console is a big boy, though, and it stays at home. I primarily enjoy using it in handheld mode, even around the house, so I bought those Split Pad Pro things, and it's been so long since I've bothered using joycons that I can't even find the things.
I... like the PS4, but I have the hardest time convincing myself to boot up the damn thing. I have been semi-regularly lately, since my nephew and I are playing through P5 Royal, but before that, it had been months since I even touched it.
I use my PC a lot more now that load times are so drastically reduced. Although I haven't bothered setting up my DS4 with it since I built the new one, so I've been playing M+K-oriented games to get around that task.
@gcunit Yeah, I've heard that recommendation from others. I've wired my PS4 before, but it didn't seem to help much, which makes me think it's a problem on the Vita's end. Very weird.
@JaxonH Once you get used to the Switch and its seamless hybrid design, it's pretty hard to go back to having to play a game only on the TV at home. The freedom to take your game anywhere is invaluable, and it's why I'll often put up with performance deficits that would irritate me on any other system.
And yeah, there is just... a LOT to play this year. Even 2019, which was pretty good in my book, loaded the majority of its killer releases around Q4. This year, we get big releases every month. Sometimes multiple big releases a month. Companies seem to be spacing their games out nicely this time.
It probably doesn't help that games like Monster Hunter Rise and Disgaea 6 will easily provide hundreds of hours of content to dig into.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
I really want to get the mario 35 switch and give the old one to my wife but i dont kniw if i should wait for the pro or 4k or what evr it will be called i will be pretty mad if there is an anoument in jan or feb what shall i do?
@Spjelite82 You should look at photos of the rear of that Switch and decide not to get it because the kickstand is black and stands out like a Sonic fan in a gaming forum. Then you should contact Nintendo, chastising them for their oversight of not making it red.
Honesty the switch has one of the weakest library of all Nintendo hardwareimo. Half of switch games is wii u ports or cross gen. Nintendo were more creative during WII and Wii u era.
