@BruceCM i wonder if Nintendo is gonna release a themed Switch/Switch Lite Legend of Zelda or Metroid edition, considering 2021 is the 35th anniversary of both franchise.

Mario Edition Switch is.... it's fine. I guess. Reminds me of the all red Wii back in its heyday. But it's just red Mario themed. Like, eh. It's fine.

Where's my awesome Monster Hunter edition Switch? That's what I wanna know. Don't care about red Mario systems right now.

Heh, they'll do a special Lite for that, just to irritate you ....? Still a bit of time for them to reveal something for it

@Giancarlothomaz A Zelda-themed Switch sounds very likely. Not sure about a Metroid edition though. There isn't any Metroid games on the Switch (unless you count Metroid and Super Metroid on NSO) and it's not quite as popular as stuff like Mario, Zelda, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing. Plus we have no clue what's currently going on with Metroid Prime 4 (besides restarting development), so there's that too.

I don't think we'll be getting a special edition MH switch now. At least, not right away. Maybe when the inevitable DLC expansion happens (since I think, as with Pokemon, expansions are taking the place of re-releases). But I don't see Nintendo launching a Mario special edition Switch so close to a MH-themed one.

I've lost hope for a western MH themed Switch. But I'm counting on Japan still getting one.

Even MHXX got one, and that was a 3DS port. There's also never been a portable MH on Nintendo that didnt get special edition hardware for its release.

I think its foolish to not release a MH themed Switch in the west. But, if they don't even release one in Japan, they've just downright lost their minds.

I'm 100% on board with a special edition Lite. In fact I'd almost prefer it, just to have a Dragon Quest Switch and Monster Hunter Switch Lite.

Anything is welcome at this point. Even a limited edition pro controller. Just give us something... anything.

I obviously have no idea what they're planning! Just if they don't want to do 2 specials for the full Switch so close together, that seems like a possibility .... If they usually do have something for MH games, it seems likely they'd want it for the upcoming one even more

3 of the 4 past MH limited edition consoles were for more powerful hardware revisions (the one which wasn't was the MHXX Switch that released in the Switch's launch year):

• MH4U New 3DS XL
• MHG New 3DS XL
• MHW PS4 Pro

Pretty sure MH Rise limited edition console will be for the new Switch revision of which they aren't going to announce a limited edition console of something that Nintendo themselves haven't announced yet.

Zelda I think will also be a new Switch revision limited edition console, probably based on BotW 2.

It’s possible, for sure.

But if the revision doesn’t come until fall, I don’t think that would hold them back from releasing one at launch.

After all, you left off all the MH3U 3DS in Japan which were not for new hardware. They just tend to release limited editions on whatever’s out at the time. If new hardware coincides, they release on new hardware. If not, they release on whatever already exists.

@MarioLover92 i considering for the Metroid themed Switch edition, the rumored 2D Metroid game that continues the Metroid Fusion history.

Trails of Cold Steel IV coming April 9th is incredibly unfortunate, given MH Rise releasing 2 weeks prior. To backlog it shall go. Still got the collector edition locked in though. That’s a nice, high quality April game though. 2021 is the Year of the RPG.

Considering SMT Nocturne is likely coming out around that time as well I'm going to have to pass on it for now

Also still hunting for a PS5 so depending on when I get it I don't even know when I'll get around to Trails

@JaxonH do you think there a possibilty Capcom do a second demo for Monster Hunter Rise?showing more features and mechanics like HD Rumble and others things?

There will be a March demo, with an added advanced quest per the data leak, but I cannot speak to rumble. I'm perplexed it wasn't included in this demo, and suspect it will be in the full release, but I'd prepare mentality for the possibility it's not.

@JaxonH i see, so this advanced demo is gonna be similar to the demos of Pikmin 3 Deluxe and Hyrule Warriors:Age of Calamity(the materials you collect for Monsters transfer for the final version?), yes i believe and hoping Monster Hunter Rise have HD Rumble(problaby the game have, since i was watching a video of Game Informer and they mentioned rumble, when you use the Wyvern mount mechanic, a important magazine like Game Informer would not mention this, if Capcom dint included this feature in the game.

No. There is no transfer. Its impossible. MH demos do not start you out at the beginning of the game.

Advanced quest means a harder quest fighting Magnamalo, instead of just beginner and intermediate.

Can you link me to this GameInformer vid? I'd like to see if they say anything about it
