@FragRed yeah Ninty are bit of an paradox at time, it terms of business they are very conservative whilst at the same very much risk takers in terms of their products.
Whilst buying other companies may be a bit too big for them, I’d like to see them take steps to at least pay for ports rather than paying for exclusives. Whilst not a practice I like games like Madden, GTA, COD are just as important as Spider Man on PS and Halo on Xbox imo.
@jump Yeah, the problem Nintendo seems to have is that they know their systems sell almost entirely because of their in-house games, which is something to be very proud of (assuming your console is something people want from a hardware perspective and not the Wii U). However, at the same time it also means that they aren't as concerned about paying for third party exclusives as Sony or Microsoft though they have a great relationship with Platinum Games which are fully exclusive and to a lesser degree, Square Enix which is timed exclusives. They really could do with a lot more third party exclusives to fill the gaps between first party releases, if they aren't playing to outright buy any studios.

@Grumblevolcano That’s true. Nintendo are really perhaps the only one of the three that could get away with doing something like that and see them sell millions at full price (looking at you Mario 3D All Stars).

Unless Sony drops a nuclear-grade exclusive on me (Silent Hill comes to mind), I think I might just stick with PC for the foreseeable future. It's significantly more expensive than console, but you get multiple storefronts, multiple control options, customizable gyro, almost all of MS's games and at least some of Sony's "exclusives," amazing sales, emulation, mods, PC Game Pass, and the ability to control how your games perform. My new video card will be weaker than what's in the PS5/Series X, but I'll be able to do 1080p/60fps in all my games, which is all I care about.
And, frankly, this next generation of video cards looks like it's going to eat the home consoles for breakfast, and they're already launching for surprisingly reasonable prices. I won't be dipping in any time soon, but I'm hoping nVidia will drop prices on their older cards in response.
I'll keep buying Nintendo's consoles so long as they're portable in some form or fashion. I think I'm done with stationary Ninty hardware. They're losing me as a customer if what comes after the Switch is tethered to the TV.
@Ralizah Sony buys Konami. Metal Gear Solid 3 Pachinko gets turned into an actual game. Silent Hills gets revived. Castlevania finally gets a new game that's not on mobile. PS5 exclusive.

I want Dance Dance Revolution A20+ from Konami return on Sony machine (and also Nintendo machine) as DDR was first time on PS1 after the Arcade version has been released. Dance Dance Revolution is still an important matter for me and other DDR players out there.
DDR is also one important IP from Konami as other Rhythm games from Konami such as Beatmania IIDX (currently 28th mix), Sound Voltex, Gitadora, etc are really big deal.
Peoples still keep playing those Konami rhythm games until today.
@jump oh yes just the valeus of some Nintendo franchise like Mario or Pokémon, would give Nintendo enough money to buy a companie like Capcom or Square Enix, the question is, does Nintendo want to buy companies like Capcom/Square Enix or others to help disersify her IP catalog, buying some meduim, one big companie will do wonder for futures Nintendo consoles.
@TheFrenchiestFry Silent Hills would ensure a PS5 purchase at some point if it went full fat exclusive to the system.
As for MGS... I feel like that series' time has passed. Kojima is tired of it, too. Although I'd happily buy Kojima-led remakes of 1 - 4 if I happened to own the platform they went to.
Castlevania... I dunno. I think Bloodstained already has that covered. It's not like the name itself means much of anything. Unless you mean 3D Castlevania, in which case I'd quickly nope out of that. If I've learned one thing over time, it's that Castlevania is only really good as a 2D property.
With Horizon going cross-gen, the only big Playstation exclusive property I know of that'd get me to buy a PS5 is a brand new Persona game, but, let's be real: we both know Persona 6 will be a cross-gen release when it happens.
I guess it's possible Sony could develop some killer new IP I just have to have, but it doesn't seem likely.
The only thing that'll be hard to deal with is waiting out the one year period for FFVII Remake 2 to stop being exclusive to PS5, assuming it's not cross-gen as well.
I loved the games on Wii U, and I loved the game pad integration in a number of titles. And as a result I had a lot of love for the console. I thought it was worth owning because of the games on the system and the game pad integration for MH3U and Splinter Cell Blacklist.
But the system itself was just horrible. Least the operating system was, anyways. Wii U and 3DS were sooo sluggish and it’s not something I really noticed until I got Switch and was like, woah, this is instant. Wii U took like 20-30 seconds just to boot, in fact it took so long they had to design a quick menu just so you could get to the menu a little bit faster. And booting up anything in that OS took forever. I can’t say I’m surprised it didn’t catch on. Plus the game pad just didn’t turn out to be as good as we thought it would be when it released. It showed a lot of promise but it was one of those things where the ideas seemed cooler than it actually turned out to be in practice.
@Ralizah
I don’t think Square Enix is going to make FF7-2 PS exclusive for more than 6 months at launch. We see with FFXVI it’s coming to PC after 6 months, and Xbox after 12 months. And I think that’s due to the poor sales of FF7. It drastically under performed their expectations- they thought 10 million people were going to rush out and buy it on PS, but they quickly found out that only 4 million or so people did. They are realizing that there’s a huge demand for their games outside of PS, and that pressure is building more and more as time goes on. Clearly they renegotiated for future releases to drop on PC sooner. 6 months isn’t that long. I’m betting the same is true for FF7-2. Sony insists on ponying up to dress it up as a PS exclusive but that bird isn’t singing like it used to. And that’s good for us because it means the gaps between PC will grow ever shorter, even with huge money hatted titles.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
And I think that’s due to the poor sales of FF7. It drastically under performed their expectations- they thought 10 million people were going to rush out and buy it on PS, but they quickly found out that only 4 million or so people did.
@Ralizah Being someone who grew up on PlayStation franchises as a kid I obviously have a big affinity for their exclusive content
The PS5 Showcase checked a crap ton of boxes for me and honestly if they announced Persona 6 like right there I would've probably tried to steal my dad's credit card to pre order the damn thing and spend the night scouting Best Buy or EBGames for stock

uh...citation needed...?
It passed the 5mil mark back in early August.
I don't care what system it's on, I was never interested in it due to how they're offering it up piecemeal.
@JaxonH FFVII Remake made it past the 3.5 million sales mark in like three days. It surpassed Marvel's Spider-Man and ended up becoming the fastest selling PS4 exclusive
It got well past 5 million on digital sales ALONE by August this year. It still did incredibly well for a game locked to one console. Being exclusive to PS4 clearly didn't hurt its success. Especially given Final Fantasy's legacy on PlayStation and VII in particular is arguably as prolific as the series was on Nintendo in terms of main entries
i was wrong, despite Nintendo having very profitable franchise like Mario or Pokémon, it Market value is only 9 bilions and she have only 12 bilions dolars to use in making games and maybe buy a Company if he want to do this.
