@kkslider5552000 Nintendo might release a budle of Monster Hunter Rise, like they did with the release of Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate around the launch of New 3DS XL, Capcom might only waiting for TGS or closer to the release of Monster Hunter Rise to anounce a budle of the game.

@JaxonH Monster Hunter Rise and Monster Hunter Story 2 one of the best looking games for Switch,the art style of Monster Hunter Story 2 will fit perfecty in a Pokémon game for Switch, why Pokémon Sword e Shield don't look so good as Monster Hunter Story 2?

They look amazing. That RE Engine does wonders. We've seen some incredible graphics on PS4/X1/PC using the engine, and now we're seeing what it can do on Switch. I'm astounded at how similar Rise looks to World, but I love how the maps don't look super cluttered, and are more open to serve as arena-based areas to fight in. That was one thing I hated in World. Everything felt so cluttered.

I thought Pokemon looked great, but my frame of reference was previous Pokemon games. Compared to MH Stories 2, it's definitely lacking. I just think GameFreak isn't as talented, to be honest.

But ya, if you havent played Monster Hunter before, prepare to have your mind blown. It's so good. Like... Monster Hunter Rise will, in all likelihood, genuinely be my favorite game of all time. And MH Stories 2 looks like it could be one of the best games of the generation. But MH Rise... wow. You're about to learn that Capcom is actually a drug dealer, and you're buying crack on a cartridge.

Ori and the Will of the Wisps Review

“One of the best games on the entire Nintendo Switch system”

Switch gamers, do you realize you’ve just been gifted one of the best video games ever made on a silver platter?

@Giancarlothomaz
Fair is fair.

When MH World released, we all wanted it on Switch. But instead, it was released on every single platform except Nintendo Switch. And I distinctly recall being told, "Switch players whining, go buy a PS4 then" (even though I have a PS4, it was never about being able to play it, though I'm sure for many it was, but playing it portably).

Now, we get a Monster Hunter in reverse. Developed for every platform World didn't release on. And MH Stories 2 makes up for having to wait 3 years. We did have MH Generations Ultimate, which I loved, but ultimately, it was a 3DS port at its core.

In the end, the ppl upset are likely the same ones who were telling Switch gamers to shove it when World released because it would "hold the game back". Now, other systems would hold Switch back. Oh how I love karma.

@JaxonH Played it on PC. It is somehow a massive improvement over Blind Forest and the mobility/combat options blend so well with the exploration gameplay. It feels extremely fluid and rhythmic in its merging of platforming and combat.

Definitely a GOTY contender and had it not been for the Switch version, it was probably Xbox's best exclusive in a LONG time.

i think Nintendo never expected Animal Crossing New Horizons to become the second highest selling/best selling Switch game, and soon the highest/best selling Switch game and that Animal Crossing New Horizons helped Switch sell more they expected, even me was suprised that Animal Crossing New Horizons have a high possibilty of becoming the highest/best selling Switch game,who know that thanks to Animal Crossing New Horizons, Animal Crossing can now be considered a major Nintendo franchise like Mario or Legend of Zelda.

So glad to see at least someone here who appreciates Ori and the Will of the Wisps. I played on PC as well, and I was gobsmacked with how incredible it was. A Switch release is an automatic buy. Nothing to think about. Nothing to discuss. Straight to the eShop.

Ori and the Blind Forest was one of the first eShop games I downloaded, and I absolutely loved it! I can wait a little while before digging into Will of the Wisps, but I'm thrilled that it even came to the Switch at all.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet DLC, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

I was a bit disappointed by the first Ori to be honest.

The difficulty spikes are unfair in my opinion (I grew up on the NES - I’m not a mollycoddled gamer) and the combat is sloppy. As a metroidvania I thought it was underwhelming. The art direction is great but I ultimately found it grating.

I might still buy the sequel at some point but it’s not a day one buy for me.

I know MH Rise has gotten all the attention, and it’s good to talk about Ori as well (certainly deserves it). But how bout that Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Rune Factory 5?

MH Stories 2 looks AMAZING. Just amazing. Incredibly high budget, SUCH a huge leap forward from the original on 3DS. I’m totally blown away by Stories 2. In fact, it’s now my number one most hyped RPG of 2021. There’s a lot of RPG fans on the switch and I hope this game helps to get them into the monster hunter series.

And Rune Factory 5- what a glow up from RF4! It’s fully 3D now, has an incredible art style, and is well beyond anything I expected. They really went all in on the new Rune Factory.

@StuTwo
Combat is much improved in the second. Not that combat ever particularly bothered me in the first game because everything else about it was just so amazing, and the combat was decent enough that it wasn’t really an issue. But it’s definitely on point in the sequel. You actually have a light rod you swing and combo with to attack, instead of shooting those weird light pellets out of your back. And you get additional attacks you can slot in, such as a devastating heavy blow that also destroys certain barriers.

@JaxonH I feel Stories 2 fits into the same problem as No More Heroes III, really the other games should be ported first. Hard to get excited for it when the first game (or first 2 games in No More Heroes' case) is only on a long gone console.

@Grumblevolcano
??

You don’t need to play the first game to be excited for the next. Otherwise you’d never be able to be excited for any sequel ever. Time moves on and new systems release. Sequels release on those new systems. Nearly every franchise in existence has previous entries on older hardware.

It’s a new game, new story on a new system. And I would say the same applies for No More Heroes 3. It’s a new game for a new generation and a new system. You don’t need to play previous games to enjoy the new one. This isn’t a lord of the rings saga. It’s just video games.

@JaxonH Well it all comes down to how well the game functions standalone. For example, having Mass Effect 3 be your first Mass Effect game is a very bad idea meanwhile it's perfectly fine having Xenoblade Chronicles 2 be your first Xenoblade game.

Grumblevolcano

JaxonH

@Grumblevolcano
Sure, but Monster Hunter Stories 2 isn’t even remotely similar to Mass Effect 3. It’s not a bookend to a major story-driven trilogy, long awaited to wrap up loose plot threads. It’s a new game with a new story for a new audience. The first game has nothing to do with it. If you happen to play the first game that’s great but you certainly don’t need to get excited. They’re not making games that require people to have owned a 3DS. They are making games for a brand new switch audience.

I swear some people would hesitate to play Mario 3D World for fear of not playing 3D Land 😁

MH Stories 2 is deserving of hype. Almost nobody played or cared about the first. This game is taking another stab at it, but this time on an uber-successful system with a proper budget in HD.

@status-204 honestly with a niche JRPG anyone interested enough to be a realistic buyer probably knows the heritage of the series inside out and will look online to get the answer if they don’t.

I think Stories 2 is worth get hyped over by virtue of it being another quality and bigger franchise game that centers around Monster Taming. Pokémon sort of own that entire type of game, and besides few examples and niche stuff like SMT no other games get the opportunity to really do much in it. Not to mention it uses Capcom’s amazing monster designs and charming world. Stories 1 while a 3DS game had a lot of character and was easily one the best looking games on the system. It just launched at an absolutely awful period and didn’t get much advertising sadly.

I think the game can definitely be the best monster taming game out there. I’m confident it’ll look and be more interactive than Pokémon. The only real concern right now is how they approach the gameplay. The original had a lot of great ideas but as the first game it wasn’t entirely fleshed out yet.
