@Slowdive Good to hear the game might not end up being a performance trainwreck, because when footage of it appeared in that Partner Showcase recently, I could almost count the frames by hand.

@Toy_Link I've never seen Jurassic Park, and yet somehow hearing that theme still invokes so much emotion in me.

I'm not sure I like the pseudo-realistic look on that screenshot though.

So since this is a switch thread, ima put out my idea for the 35th anniversary of Mario since it would be on switch😉. It would all start out with Nintendo putting a tweet out on September 13th that they will be posting Mario news all that day. It would all start out with super Mario rpg, and super Mario all stars being added to Nintendo switch online. Then later they would announce that the next fighter pass character would be from Mario, and they would have a trailer.. the character would be geno. Then the last and final announcement would be the super Mario 3D all stars. Randomly thought of this while sitting around.

A friend at Ubisoft Montreal said he " can’t Comment " about the Prince of Persia leak, for me that’s confirming it a little bit. Guess the Ubi presentation in September should happen in not too long 😉

If the pandemic wasn't around, we'd be getting info on games this week from the Nintendo Redcube. Some really cool stuff in past years like Elma in XC2.

@Slinkoy1 If that's how it goes, I'll be very happy with that. Instead of Super Mario All stars being added to NSO though, I'm hoping we get SMB1, SMB3 and SMBW remade in the Mario Maker engine for NSO. It's easy for them to do and it brings the classics up to modern standards, without taking anything away from the originals. Playing through SMB3 with widescreen, a cleaner image and no flicker at the side of the screen, will be a joy.

So according to the Future Games Show, Lord of the Rings: Gollum is coming to Switch.

That's....news.

@Haruki_NLI Wait if this is coming to the Switch, why hasn't this been made public knowledge? Is that a slip of the tongue or are they hoping for a Switch successor soon that could run this game?

If true, I would legit play this. Not only is it in a genre I like, but Gollum is one of the most interesting characters in LOTR.

Seems September might finally provide some hype.

Obviously take with a grain of salt until properly revealed, but the source of Mario Collection seems to think it’ll be, at the very least, announced in the next 2 weeks. Possibly no longer tied to the anniversary, branding wise? Who knows. Maybe they’ll announce it on the day of the anniversary.

And it seems a Monster Hunter Switch announcement is imminent. Well, “soon” anyways. And new info from the source also says:

I do know a little bit about Itsuno's project, but I won't say much more except that it's open world & they're expanding features of the RE Engine to work with a more open format for the title

Open world approach is great news. It also seems MH Stories 2 is in development, and even undergoing localization already. Different source but it seems reliable nonetheless.

Please let September rescue us from the dredges of this news drought.

Where did this part come from? I know the part about MH Switch is from Dusk Golem but I haven’t seen any rumors about Stories 2. I would absolutely love for it to be a thing, but I haven’t heard any news on it online.

@Anti-Matter I’m not that interested in that game, but that music was FIRE.

I would like any of the crappy Doctor Who games to come to the Switch 🤔. The Matt Smith games specifically. But, I'd welcome any. (insert tardis emoticon)

I never knew Doctor Who had games! I loved the show many moons ago. Watched it a couple weeks ago and questioned my choice of entertainment thoroughly.

Ya, I can’t link the source because I have no idea what forum it’s buried on, but that’s also a thing. It’s a different source though and I’m not sure how trustworthy they are but apparently they have some credibility and it was vaguely backed up by another insider saying “why can’t we have both”.

I mention it just in case it gets announced first, people don’t lose their minds thinking that’s “the” MH announcement.

We’ve been waiting, patiently, for a long time to see this day come. I can’t wait.

Now, if we could just get another Fire Emblem to follow up 2 Monster Hunters, 2 SMTs, 2 Trails of Cold Steels and 2 YS games, we’ll be well on our way to surpassing 3DS status.

@Grumblevolcano September was nuts last year. I can't imagine why at least some of that stuff couldn't have released during the very dry first half of the year. Instead, like, 20 games get released, and most of them get ignored because they released next to a Zelda game.
