@sixrings Unfortunately I don’t see Simpsons or TMNT ever getting released due to the legal licensing issues surrounding them.

@FragRed I'll survive. It's a bit of nostalgia from actually spending time in arcades after basketball practice but Raiden is easily my favourite arcade game of all time. I'll be buying it on multiple systems in case it gets delisted

@sixrings I do hope we see a lot of Konami arcade games get released, along with Capcom. Surprises me why more developers/publishers don’t make use of their arcade back catalogue as it must be easy money.

@FragRed honestly I'd rather have my street fighter 2 and 3 fix in individual aca releases. Even if it was at a premium price.

anyone think we will get anymore updates for Mario Maker 2? if not, I still love the last update with Koopalings and maps dream come true but if we do get a small update I would like:

• world maps in all styles (not just SNES)
• ability to have rising water in all level types (why not?)
• Fire Bro enemies
• Ice Flower

The link update was by far all I could ask for. After that update I sunk another 20-25 hours in but I havent played much since. I do want to get back into it at some point.

@Rexcalibr At this point I'm expecting minor things like bug fixes for future updates. Great ideas for sure, though. Really like the world maker, I should get back to SMM2 to make my own Super World one of these days.

@Anti-Matter I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure FragRed wanted more of Konami and Capcom's arcade games to be ported to modern consoles like the Switch. Dance Dance Revolution is arcade-only these days (besides previous console generations, of course).

Used to be Konami ported their Bemani rhythm Arcade games such as DDR, Beatmania IIDX, Drummania, etc from Arcade to PS1 & PS2, but they didn't do that anymore after end of PS2 and Wii era.

It’s been at least a year and half since Retro took over Metroid Prime 4. I’m hoping they are just using MP4 as an example of the work they do and not hiring a lead producer for it just now.

I still play it a lot, and even though they've said we won't see any "major" updates, I think they'll do some minor tweaks. One thing I think they'll do is allow creators to enable Game Overs for their super worlds, sending people back to the start if they run out of lives. That's one of the biggest complaints about super worlds and seems an easy option to enable.

I was just thinking something: Nintendo doesn’t need to announce anything from their current state. Animal Crossing continues to sell amazingly, paper Mario is looking like it’s doing good so far, the Switch just keeps on selling units and it’s easily becoming one of the best selling consoles.

Right now fans of Nintendo are buying some of the older Nintendo games and eShop titles which is still profit for them. Pikmin 3 will almost certainly sell like dynamite and easily become the best selling in the series. Overall we say Nintendo needs to announce more games but in reality they’re in an amazing place currently especially with BOTW 2 releasing presumably next year so they won’t be hurting then either. Sure we all may feel like Nintendo is doing nothing right now but from Nintendo’s standpoint things probably aren’t terrible right now, aside from whatever COVID caused of course.

Don’t get me wrong I want a Direct just as desperately as most of you but Nintendo certainly doesn’t need one. I can see them doing announcements the same way they did with paper Mario for another 5 or 6 months if they are willing.

@Blooper987 are you talking about from the perspective of Nintendo themselves? In which case I disagree as momentum doesn’t carry itself and with Xmas coming up which is the busiest period now is when they need to be announcing games to carry themselves into the holiday season.

@jump I think most of the games this holiday will be 3rd party and they’ll have emphasis on DLC but as for 1st part Christmas releases I think the Mario Remakes are all we’re getting this year and those will be announced in a special video Nintendo drops. Maybe we’ll get one other title for switch to slot into November/December but I don’t think there will be a “big” new game like BOTW, SSBU, or Pokémon Sw/Sh.

Nintendo is gonna go into winter expecting the Mario games to sell phenomenally for Christmas and they’ll be right.

@Blooper987 yup this is my fear. With games like ACNH so successful and ports of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe successful Nintendo can start to gear up for the next console years down the line and survive the rest of this generation on smaller games and Pokemon. To be honest I'd rather my BOTW 2, Metroid, Odyssey 2 be made with the next system in mind anyways (as long as it's backward compatible... DIGITAL GAMES TOO!!!) I could survive on a whole bunch of wii/gamecube ports that I either never played and or are so long ago they feel new anyways.
