@JaxonH I don't know why you wouldn't just play through in order at this point.
A slow pace seems to be the name of the game with Trails games. Trails in the Sky progresses at a snail's pace through, quite literally, the entire game.
Anyway, yeah, I've been tempted to start Cold Steel, although I'm also wondering if I shouldn't continue on with the other Sky games first. I was dangerously close to downloading them on Steam a while back. If the digital Vita versions go on sale again, that might be just the push I need.
The third game is so good! And it’s hybrid! As much as I do want to just play in order now since I’m so far into the first, I can’t help but play TOCS3 off and on. At least at this rate I’ll probably still be going all the way up until TOCS4 drops on Switch next year. So there’s that 😁
And let me know how your Final Fantasy adventures go
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Im having a good time with my switch and I’m not really waiting for some news.
I still have more then enough to play, and to finish.
And with al the decent sales lately the backlog is getting bigger and bigger.
Im not having enough time to get a other console to spend all the time in.
2021 is where things getting interesting again and I hope that my backlog will be tackled for already 30%

Honestly, if Trails is what it takes to get into it, I'd say just start playing Trails. I dont doubt the Sky games are good, but Trails has much better graphics and seem to be a little more exciting, events wise.
Keep in mind, Vita versions of first two dont have fast forward which I've found to be crucial.

Almost finished with Paper Mario, though I do want to go back to 100% it. Harvest Moon Mineral Town is on its way in the mail, and I know I'll put at least 30+ hours into that sucker. After that, I still need to get around to the Pokemon DLC, and I think I'll finally get Astral Chain. I'm probably good until the fall. I'm sure there's at least one big game for the fall/holiday that they haven't announced yet.
@JaxonH Yeah, if I can't motivate myself to continue with Sky 2 by next year, I'll probably just jump into the Cold Steel games. I do want to at least play the first and see if it's more my style.

@NintendoByNature I'll be okay if BD II is delayed, especially since the demo showed that there's still some polishing that needs to be done. I loved the first two games on 3DS and am willing to give it a shot.
Crystal Chronicles isn't really on my radar right now as I'm more focused on picking up some of the main series FF installments; I own roughly four right now and haven't played any of them yet.
@Ralizah I really hope they release a second demo for BD II. The first one was somewhat decent, but it was rough around the edges. I took the time during the survey to thoroughly outline what I liked and disliked about the demo in comparison to the previous two entries and offered a few suggestions. Here's to hoping that they take all the feedback they've received and make some meaningful changes.
I'm cautiously optimistic about it, but I'd like to see and/or play a newer build in action before buying.

@Tyranexx the previous games on the 3ds where mind blowing especially the first one got it really high in my list!
The second one whas great as well but didn’t get me as much as the first one did.
BP2 looks decent but not spectacular yet, they are playing it very safe; understandable but I whould love to see new elements, chainge of direction whould not be bad.
I won’t mind if it releases in 2021 my backlog is big enough for what it is now haha.

@DenDen but if you're only going to be 30% through your backlog in 2021 then you don't really need new games until 2022. People who want new games are greedy and unappreciative of the hard work developers do.
@NintendoByNature I'm happy with anyone's opinion. I might not agree with it but I've never ignored anyone. Somehow people get offended though that I find it laughable the "I got a huge backlog" so Nintendo can just take a vacation mentality.
Good. Freaking. Game.... GREAT, even. That was chef’s kiss, and the ending was very good too.
Well, back to Trails of Cold Steel 3 for Switch, back to Trails of Cold Steel on Steam, and maybe I’ll start Ocarina of Time 3D on 3DS. Or SMT Soul Hackers.

@JaxonH Soul Hackers is interesting. It's... very old (Saturn game), and it can't really hide that aspect of its identity. But it also leans into it with a cool, late-80s cyberpunk vibe. The deliciously synthy electropop music adds to this:

Yeah Soul Hackers is freaking amazing. If any of y'all still have your 3DS lying around it's definitely up there in regards to my favorite RPGs on the console alongside SMT IV

@BruceCM I currently have Final Fantasy IV (DS), Final Fantasy III/VI (SNES Classic), and Final Fantasy X/X-2 (Switch, physical import with both games on the cart) all waiting to be played. I haven't fully decided which one will be my first yet, but I'm leaning towards X or III/VI.
@NintendoByNature Very true. XD Until more Switch announcements roll around, I can wait on a few more recent releases as I'm not worried about them vanishing off of shelves yet. At least until a really good sale rolls around again. I was gonna hold off just a bit longer on getting Let's Go Eevee! since the Pokemon games have quite the long shelf life, but Best Buy had them down to $39.99 a couple of weeks back and I finally decided to bite.
My hope is to slow down on picking up Switch games and games in general for the rest of this month and some of next month. I wanna change my focus and pick up a couple of stragglers on older platforms before the eshop is inevitably closed.
@DenDen Both of the released Bravely games are amazing; I slightly prefer the story and playable characters of the first game (though two of them do return to the party in the second) but also like some of the mechanical polishes and new classes introduced in the second game.
BD II is indeed decent-looking, but could definitely use some polishing. It's one of the games that I wouldn't mind being delayed; not only due to my aforementioned backlog woes, but also because I really do care about the end product and don't want it to be rushed.
