@Heavyarms55@Ralizah If you compare to the 3DS, Atlus has been peculiarly absent on Switch. Even WiiU got the Nintendo joint TMS#FE. Right now we're getting a port of a last gen game in Catherine and Scramble which isn't really an Atlus game, it's a Koei game with an Atlus joint venture. They really are absent so far, which is twice as weird because they were one of the few companies featured in the actual Switch stage event with SMTV. Then again, so was EA.
I can only assume there was some kind of business falling out between Nintendo and Atlus/Sega, or Sony moneyhats them like crazy, or Atlus/Sega assumed Switch was doomed and Nintendo was doomed and didn't plan to move on much after 3DS and got caught blindsided by Switch taking off like a rocket, so they're now catching up on years of lost development. Or they spent all their resources on P5 and had nothing left for any other games.
Falcom and Squeenix are beating them handily. And Falcom pledged undying loyalty to Sony and STILL is beating them on Nintendo.
@NEStalgia Squeenix and NIS are beating them. There wouldn't be a single Trails or Ys game on Switch if other companies weren't willing to do the hard work of porting them to Switch. Falcom gets no credit from me: they're just willing to allow other companies to port their game and help make them more money.
And there's really nothing for Sony to moneyhat. Pretty much all they get is Persona. Nintendo gets SMT and everything else. If this were 2014 or so, we'd be having the exact opposite discussion, because it took years for Atlus to even get anything on PS4, whereas they actively supported the 3DS with a lot of smaller projects.
For better or for worse, Atlus is treating Switch like it's a home console. Hopefully that bodes well for SMT V.
@NEStalgia
To be fair, Catherine Full Body is a current gen title that expands on a last gen game. The added content practically doubles the amount of stages, adds 20+ new cutscenes and a third love interest. And the Full Body edition only just released in 2019 here in the west.
And P5 Scramble is as much an Atlus game as Fire Emblem Three Houses is an Intelligent Systems game. Yes, KT handled the brunt of development but clearly Atlus has high level members overseeing and collaborating.
Still. I do agree they’re strangely absent given their 3DS support. But that was their comfort zone. They’ve now transitioned to PS4 being their comfort zone. That’s no excuse though because Switch combines the best of both, and any game they release elsewhere can run on Switch. Their output has just been mostly Persona focused on PS. Be it Persona 4 Golden on Vita, Persona 4 Dancing on Vita, Persona 5 on PS3/PS4, Persona 5 Royale on PS4, Persona 3 Dancing on PS4, Persona 4 Dancing on PS4, Persona 5 Dancing on PS4, Persona 5 Scramble for PS4 (and Switch)... it’s exhausting.

Well, for BDII, I guess .... Didn't they say they'd be announcing some games, too, though? Which may not be Switch ones, of course but they might do initial reveals of some stuff themselves, wouldn't stop Nintendo having bits of them in any direct they do
Yeah, the prediction will be right if we keep making it, @NEStalgia
Every month rumors for a Direct will pop up, until one finally happens. Iwata conditioned Nintendo fans to expect them more often than they've been happening recently. Sadly, Iwata has long been gone. And chances are good current Nintendo President Furukawa prefers shadow drops over Directs.

@NEStalgia 4th month of Direct rumours. January was rumours about a January or February Direct, February was rumours about a February or March Direct, March was rumours about a March Direct and July is rumours about a July Direct. Rumours in April/May/June were about no Direct in June and Nintendo telling 3rd parties to announce their games by their own means.
Not buying in to a July Direct. Nobody credible has leaked anything. That doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen but I always play the odds, and the odds state that if the person hasn’t credibly leaked before, then you don’t pay them any mind. Now. If they turn out correct they will have earned the right for me to pay attention to them in the future. But not yet.
But people who don’t follow the stuff just hear another leak and then get jaded when it doesn’t happen and say all leakers are bogus. You have to know when to listen and when not to. This guy is a nobody. He’s never leaked anything credible before. So if you listen to them now, don’t be surprised when it doesn’t pan out.

@JaxonH I'm undecided because of the circumstances. No doubt about it, something will have happened by the week after Paper Mario because Paper Mario is the last Nintendo published game with a release date. But Nintendo announcing a game by then in the same format as they did for Paper Mario wouldn't explain the 3rd party drought after July. Crystal Chronicles is the only 3rd party game for Switch that comes to mind with a release date after July (August 27th).
The 3rd party situation was also looking bleak before the March Direct Mini.
@Magician That's depressing. I despise shadow drops. It's not fun, it's not interesting, and I hear about them months later from someone on the forum mentioning something I didn't know about. It's like a return to 1995 when you see a game on the shelf in the store and think it's "new", unaware it's been out for 3 years. By then there's so many "shadow drops" I knew nothing about I mostly just ignore them all as background noise.
I also overall greatly dislike Furukawa. Nintendo feels less and less Nintendo, and more and more EA/Activision/2K but with a console.
I'm still betting on Sept/Oct for a "Direct" - they need to do something pre-Holiday and post-XSeX/PS5 hype, and that's a timeframe they've consistently had one in for years. I wouldn't be surprised if Sept/Oct is the ONLY one they have annually for the next few years as Furukawa does indeed seem hellbent on flipping off any company interaction with the fanbase whatsoever and just marketing SKUs like it's bath soap. Again, even EA is looking more human than current Nintendo, with cardboard cutout Wilson directly engaging. At Nintendo, even Miyamoto is radio silent these days.
@Cynas Thank you! Now to try and decide if I want to splurge on the special edition... With this, Star Wars Racer, Star Wars Jedi Knight, Space Invaders Invincible Collection, Creature in the Well and the SteamWorld games all in quick succession, suddenly I want a whole bunch of these limited games at once.
