@Grumblevolcano Hmm ok, that's a bit shorter than I'd hoped given the price of the DLC. I think I'll hold off on buying it for now then. shopto.net is selling the expansion pass for £7 cheaper than on the eShop but even then it's still quite expensive. It does look pretty good though so I'm hoping there'll be a way to get it cheaper in the future.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
Did someone mention how the Pokemon Snap trailer says "not actual gameplay footage" at the bottom? Sorry if already said. Just feel that's something to consider.
@Heavyarms55 I don't get why Atlus has been very absent on Switch. 3DS was their #1 platform overall. It was a boon of limitless Atlus games. Then Switch comes and....nothing. Which is twice as weird because SMTV was one of the first announced games.
@DarthNocturnal
At any rate it's not like what they're showing is anything that looks beyond Switch capabilities. I'm not a Snap fan, but I'm happy for everyone who really wanted it. I'm someone who had a fun time with Sword after being away from the franchise for a long time, so maybe I will end up picking it up one day.
It appears as though Sega Sammy gives Atlus full autonomy in regards to how they prioritize which platforms to support. You'd think that after the PS Vita was discontinued Atlus would be eager to port that catalogue to the Switch. But it seems that even getting something like Catherine: Full Body on Switch was an ordeal. I wonder how much Nintendo regrets not buying Atlus when they were for sale (bought by Sega for 141m) back in 2013?
@Magician Yeah, I don't really get Atlus' inactivity. They seemed very interested in supporting Switch at launch with the SMTV presentation, but somehow all that 3DS era support dried up almost instantly, and SMTV seems to be in never never land. I presume the success of P5 is part of that and they wanted to focus on their PS base, but it still seems really weird. They had a huge part of their business on Nintendo handhelds last gen, and this gen treat it as an after-thought. Arguably the biggest part of their business last gen, other than 3DS was Vita. It doesn't make that much sense they'd do such a big turnaround. Then again, they went bankrupt and up for sale around that time, so maybe the 3DS returns weren't as good as they seemed to be and they don't want to risk hurting the PS cash how they got with P5. Nintendo only got the SMT#FE and its mediocre sales.
Nintendo's investors HATE when Nintendo buys companies for some reason even though investors seem to love buyouts by any other company. They battered Iwata when he bought Monolith. I doubt he wanted to go through that interrogation again for the more expensive Atlus. Two JRPG companies would be hard to defend, I guess.
Mass Effect won’t be coming to Switch, according to an inside report. “At least, not right away” they said (which, you know EA, if they do bring a game to Switch, aside from FIFA, it’s never day one).
But another report says Apex Legends for Switch will be announced. But they did say it was part inside knowledge and part gut feeling (meaning they know it’s in development but they don’t know for sure when it will be announced- they highly suspect it will be announced at this event).
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
Persona 5 took forever to come out, and so will Shin Megami Tensei V. The problem is that they announced the game a year or so before even beginning proper development.
They wouldn't have supported the 3DS every year between 2013 and 2019 if sales had been terrible. I mean, their 3DS games weren't doing Persona 5 numbers, but I'm sure they were still making money.
We're getting at least two games out of Atlus this year, and I'd be surprised if we don't get at least one release out of them every year afterward. Persona 5 Scramble seems pretty much guaranteed for 2021, and if SMT V isn't out before 2022, it'll undoubtedly launch by then.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Based on their older Persona releases and their 3DS support, I'm under the assumption that Atlus likes to support systems really late into their run, so I don't think its notable that they've taken a while to put much on Switch yet.
Hmm, EA just verbally commited to five more 2020 Switch releases aside from Burnout Paradise and Apex Legends. FIFA Legacy 2021 is almost certainly one of them I assume?
@Magician In all honesty, I don't like first parties buying 3rd parties. 3rd parties have the freedom to release their games on more platforms and can reach larger potential audiences.
It's when they can do that, and don't that it not only baffles me, but annoys me! I don't see any good reason for Atlus to not want to bring more titles to Switch. What possible drawback is there to tapping that market?

@Heavyarms55 - There's no excuse I can think of. At this point I assume Atlus is allergic to profit. At first I thought the director of the Persona games, Katsura Hashino, had extreme brand-loyalty towards Sony, and that's why Persona wasn't on Switch already. However, if that were true we wouldn't be getting Catherine either.
