@HobbitGamer Ah that's good. I got worried. My room isn't as big sadly...
@Therad My GPU is flat out incompatible with HDR sadly. Well, it's not, but it lacks something to make it work. Nvidia is weird. If it was a 10 series card I'd have no issue
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@Ralizah I've actually played all 3 at one point but I've only finished 1 and that was 14 years or so ago. Zero I chipped away at a lot of it but never finished it. 4 i didn't buy yet but I have it om gc If i ever want to go back and play it. I wasn't crazy about it honestly so I didn't want to get it just yet..
@Octane Pikmin Zealots are just slightly eccentric. They should be given their freedom of worship so long as they're kept outside the normal society. Like Amish.
The Smash Zealots however are a dangerous cult, and I feel like UN intervention may be required.
It's not uncommon in rural Tennessee to see people dressed like pilgrims ride their horse-drawn buggy to their local Walmart. Although I'm pretty sure those are Mennonites.
Currently Playing: Resident Evil Village: Gold Edition
@Ralizah Well, Amish and Mennonites are cut from the same cloth, though the whole attire sounds much more Amish, but if Mennonites, they're certainly much more part of normal society. The Amish still run mostly off the electrical grid entirely. Though it's sad seeing even their customs eroded continuously.
@NEStalgia I thought Amish at first because of the clothing. But they're buying stuff at Walmart and are participating in modern society.
There's no escape from the gravitational pull of modern corporation-driven society, I guess. And that always leads to social homogenization. We're always inching closer toward National ID cards and a makeshift social credit system that punished wrongthink. Which is OK, because you're just going to go have lunch at McDonalds before watching the next Disney blockbuster, anyway.
@NEStalgia At least Pikmin zealots believe in something fictional, so they're not really a threat.
I'd say the opposite. Mass conflicts are almost always ostensibly on behalf of something fictional, be it a fictional conception of the State as an entity that requires protecting, or a fictional, and almost mythical, conception of race, or any of the huge numbers of religious conflicts throughout history. Even war on behalf of protecting human rights is in the service of a fiction.
I guess you could point out that most of these conflicts are ACTUALLY about consolidation of control and resource acquisition, but if people really understood this in all its nakedness, there wouldn't be a lot of soldiers willing to fight and die for these conflicts.
It could be said that, at bottom, all meaningful human lives are oriented around and driven by service to the fictional. What are we left with otherwise? Sex, reproduction, labor, consumption, distraction, and death.
Seriously? Well that's a no buy for me. Removing from wishlist. Come on Capcom...
