Use that ignore button and never look back. That’s what I did, and half the time I don’t know what people are complaining about because I can’t see it. It’s wonderful. Life‘s too short to deal with perpetual snarky ridicule
Best advice ever! Love missing out on (mostl the whining and snarkiness. Makes the site soo much better
On a different note, I went against my own advice and caved in and preordered re origins collection just now. Usually don't preorder without an incentive of some kind but i figured I REALLY want to play the two games anyway. And if I wait for a sale, it could be in the 2nd half of 2019 when all these games coming to switch are dropping and i wont have time to play them. So oh well, full price but nonetheless ill enjoy some zombie killing 😊
@NintendoByNature
Ya, I ordered them too. And RE4. A little steep on the price side is something I can deal with. If it’s a game you really want to play, eh... just go for it. At the end of the day it’s just a bit of money. You can always make more of it.
Once Mario Maker 2 drops, it’s gonna herald a pretty consistent stream of quality exclusives on the way. And you can be sure we’ll continue to see quite a few 3rd party ports littered throughout. So we pretty much have a month to enjoy whatever it is we want to play.

@JaxonH exactly. $20 More than i wanted to spend, but I just don't see myself being able to allot time for both of these comes late June with mm2 and bloodstained kicking it off for me. Not to mention, guarantee there will be some e3 discounts that I'll no doubt partake in even knowing I'm packed to the gills with games to play. Lastly, still waiting on cadence of hyrule to drop. Needless to say i need to play re starting Tuesday and quickly.
Pretty much every forum I've ever posted on has some narrative in place among older posters about a mythical time when the community was better/posters were less snarky/etc. It's a pretty universal human tendency to idealize the past.
This is still one of the best gaming communities I've found on the internet.
Between here and PushSquare, I've only ignored a handful of people. 9/10 of them are drive-by trolls in the comment sections of articles.
Heck, I bought this 4k Smart TV and can't really use it since I walk in and collapse.
But interestingly....Switch doesn't look that bad on it. I guess it auto-scales to the output of whatever device is connected but...I dont get the "It looks bad at 4k/on a big TV" complaint.
That is because the resolution part of 4k is mostly a PR stunt so the makers can sell more TV's. Most living rooms are too far from the TV to get any benefit from the resolution.
4k TV's does do offer other benefits though, so they are not a waste.
I never got the "looks bad on a higher res TV" argument. Surely if it's scaled by an integer (e.g. 1080p x 2 = 4k) it can only look the same, or better (1080p to 1440p on the other hand...I can see issues). And I find the Switch looks fantastic on my 4k TV.

Indeed, 4k is on the verge of human eye effective resolution. I have seen, however, some new TVs with a resolution advertised as 8k. Now, while one may argue that 4k makes sense, 8k indeed does not have any merit, other than bragging rights
@HobbitGamer Where do you keep a 65 inch TV? Mine is 50 and barely fits. 0_o
@Therad I can tell 4k is a resolution PR stunt. There IS a difference but I'm also within SNES Classic controller cord range of the thing...
I would try HDR...if my GPU had the bandwidth. Its only a little 970. Amazed it can get DOOM at max settings above 30fps. Yet it struggles with Fortnite.
I want to see how much of an impact HDR will make on my colour blindness, hence my hunt for a PS4 Pro.
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
@YessMasster 4K can make sense, but for the common living room, it will be impossible to see individual pixels unless you have an insane size. They are putting better panels and tech in 4Ks, so they are not worthless outside resolutions. If you want to have the full benefit you probably needs to refurnish or buy a bigger TV. I also wonder where people will find 8K material, it is still not super-easy to find good 4K material. Maybe with a PC, but you would get a better picture if you used the extra horsepower to details and framerate.
@Knuckles-Fajita well according to that Sony article, your cord should have plenty of slack.
HDR is a better use of horsepower than pixel count. You could test it with a lower resolution.

Yeah, use the ignore button. Some people might accuse you of being a pansy censoring people you disagree with, but don't let them guilt you. Sometimes the place is just better when certain people aren't there.
I personally feel discussions becomes disjointed if you can't see all posts. You can ignore people without using an external tool you know.
Ignoring is good to have as an option, but I've found there'll always be at least one user not ignoring and instead actively feeding the trolls, at which point the thread is dragged down anyway and I'm just getting a disjointed version. I try and purge my ignore list every few months in the hope they've cleared off or changed their habits.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
