@k8sMum
1) Just put the Switch in rest mode when putting it to bed for the night. Like most modern consumer electronics, it's designed to idle in a low power state.
2) The joycons charge from the central unit when they're attached in handheld mode, as far as I know. Slide them onto the console when it's docked to charge everything.
Also, if you have a tablet stand, then tabletop mode can be useful. Prop the Switch up on it, slide the joycons out of the console, and you can play with the grip like you would on the TV. You can even play with the Pro Controller in tabletop mode, if that's your groove. I generally prefer handheld, but sometimes it's nice to just prop it up next to my computer and lazily play it as I'm doing other stuff.
You can technically use the included kickstand to play in tabletop mode, but I find that I don't like the angle it sits at. A cheap tablet stand fixes that. Moreover, using a stand can allow you to charge it in that mode as well.
I also found that the system's lack of texture in handheld mode wasn't ideal for me, so I bought a grip to put on when playing in handheld mode. I've found it makes it much more comfortable to use.
It's very basic and is a bit tricky to apply to the system at first, but I got pretty good at slipping it on and off quickly, and it makes it much more pleasant to use in handheld mode. To the point where I generally won't use it in handheld mode without the grip. It just feels uncomfortable now. I've been spoiled.
I've heard really good things about the Satisfye grip, though, which seems ideal for people with large hands. Haven't used it myself, though.

Team Sonic Racing and Assassinās Creed III Remastered are both up for predownload on the Japanese EShop. Team Sonic Racing is 5.5 GB and AC III is 11.8 GB.
@WebHead They had to announce the release date by now anyway because of the investors meeting. June 2019 with June so close would probably sound suspicious to investors.
