I heard a rumor that since it's the 30th anniversary of Mother, Reggie will announce on March 30 that Mother 3 is coming to Switch. Because 3 is March, and 30 is the anniversary. And it's a parting gift to fans. And mothers give their loved ones gifts. And he's flipping the light switch when he leaves his office.

I heard a rumour that the real NX is a superpowered Nintendo Xbox coming next year and allows you to play all games present on XB1 and Switch games on the TV at 4K 60fps. The downside is that to unlock Metroid Prime 4 you have to beat all Halo campaigns on Legendary solo (good luck against those beam rifle jackals in Halo 2)

@Grumblevolcano That one's actually probably legit, though it's really just MS licensing the Nintendo name to put on their new box so it will move some units, plus some partnership stuff with Nintendo published titles appearing.

Return of the clamshell?

I would probably buy one if they made it more portable and resilient, and keep my normal switch at home during trips.

Of course, I would have to make the original switch a secondary console.

@Morpheel I mean those are given. Smaller device that is more durable. Could see circle pads making a return too with the ability to click.

Would be cool if you were able to still dock a "mini-Switch". Like if you pushed back the DS/3DS all the way, it'll be upright. I'd say they can get that same thing done with the dock.

As for a Switch Pro, perhaps they'd redesign the dock and actual hardware so it can more reliably output 4K or some crap, where the dock would actually do something.

Well they could just make a different dock for it... Maybe just a little box with a cable so you don't need to do anything special.

@WebHead Would clamshell be surprising though? Except the Game Boy Micro and 2DS, it has been Nintendo's way of dedicated handhelds since 2003 so if the cheaper Switch removes dock support, clamshell feels like almost a given.

@Grumblevolcano Only because of the DS. Its the budget Switch suddenly going to rock two screens? Only possible justification would be DS b/c.

A clamshell switch would be pretty cool, would be interesting to see how they handle it
