Pro tip use right analog for throttle, not ZR which is on/off full throttle or no throttle. I actually prefer the analog stick to an analog shoulder button having tried with the GameCube controller. Finger gets tired with the button, but not with analog stick. Takes a little getting used to but you'll be rockin and rollin in no time.
Also. Nuance in all things. How you lean, when you lean, how much you lean, how much you throttle, when you throttle... it all makes a difference. Advanced tactics like bunny hopping, rear wheel bounce, flat obstacles, endo flapping, it all depends on the nuance of how you use lean and throttle.
The game has an EXCELLENT tutorial via University of Trials, and you will unlock more lessons as you progress, advanced tactics coming later.
Pro tip #2
Go on Uplay and spend 20 coins on the exclusive Uplay sponsor. He pays out well with XP, which you're going to want to level up, as leveling up is the barrier between unlocking next set of track difficulty.
Pro Tip 3 Unlock all bikes asap, as some contracts require certain bikes. Plus some bikes are recommended over others for certain tracks. Helium is the bicycle and is fantastic for skill based, obstacle-centric tracks, while Mantis is the agile motorbike which will become your main, go-to bike. Rhino is the heavy, powerful bike but higher speed.
My advice is to do all contracts as they unlock, as many as you can. So long as you do that you should have no problem leveling up to the Lv. 88 requirement you'll need to hit to unlock Extreme Tracks. Dont even worry about unlocking Ninja. You have to hit gold on every Extreme Track. Basically impossible unless you're top 0.1% of players. Ninja is for the diehards. Even bronze on Hard and Extreme is a test of insanity.
One last thing. You'll have to pass a Stadium Finals to "graduate" to the next tour of tracks after you meet level requirements. It consists of 3 individual races against AI or ghosts of leaderboard opponents. After you beat those 3, it unlocks an optional Finals challenge where you do all 3 back to back. Dont worry about this. For one, its unnecessary to unlock more tracks, and for two, theres a bug where it pits you against top of the leaderboard opponents. If you encounter this, undock and enable airplane mode, and play the offline default AI. Me, I just skipped those entirely.

@JaxonH I definitely will! Thanks for all the tips, never played anything like this before so I'll be using them for sure.
Bulletstorm to Switch is only surprising in the fact that I don't know anyone who bought Bulletstorm in the first place other than for the exclusive demo (was it for Gears of War or something?)
@JaxonH How does Trials Rising compare to Urban Trial Playground (I assume you’ve played it too)? I picked up UTP in the current sale and was hooked immediately.
You guys had me at blood and semen.

@gcunit
Oh my gosh, that's like comparing Zelda Breath of the Wild to Flappy Bird.
They're not even remotely on the same level. Urban Trials Playground is probably still fun in it's own right just because the gameplay is a fun concept, but... play Trials Rising and its night and day.
Trials Rising is developed by Redlynx, the OG of Trials, the creators who started it all way back as a simple browser based game. They then moved up to Xbox Live arcade devs, releasing exclusively for the Xbox 360, and was then bought up by Ubisoft, which has allowed a proper AAA budget (for the type of game it is, its AAA quality), and... oh man, it's just soooo freaking good.
If you like Trials Playground, then Trials Rising is going to feel like the jump from a PS2 Mario knockoff to Super Mario Odyssey.
And I dont mean to disparage a game you enjoy. The concept of Trials is fun regardless, but Trials Rising is the real deal. Anything less is uncivilized 😉

@JaxonH No disparagement taken. I've only played a few stages of UTP so far, and am keeping my expectations of it in check, but it does just seem innately fun to play, so your hype for TR has me tuned in and I do plan to pick it up at some point.

@IceClimbers@Ralizah That does suck. I actually bought the special edition day one.
It’s interesting that I keep seeing the first game in the download charts in the UK on Switch but never seen the latest. So I hope that at least the first is selling somewhat well enough for a potential new game to be developed.
