This is why Switch is such a game changer for Nintendo and its fans. For a long time, they've had the issue of "3rd party games dont sell". At least, as a general rule. Not enough core gamers interested in more than 1st party. And Wii was the perfect example of this.
Switch is like, the anti Wii. Even if it's not quite matching Wii numbers, it's far more impactful pound for pound. Games are selling. Oftentimes more than the almighty PS4. And I know a higher percentage buy digital, but still. A ton of games are outpacing other versions on Amazon and sales charts. DQ Builders 2 slightly outdid the PS4 version in JP. And is outpacing it on Amazon. Trials Rising, despite doing horribly, is at least outpacing other versions on Amazon. Even Assassins Crees 3 is (though that's likely due to fans getting it free in Odyssey season pass). Its crazy because its the exact opposite of what weve come to expect.
I think what's changed is, Switch has brought in core gamers. Core gamers that identify more with PC, PS4 and X1. These guys use Switch as a secondary console, but love the portability for their fave 3rd party games. Cause its definitely not the Wii U faithful. Those guys really only care about 1st party. If it doesnt have NINTENDO on the box, they dont want it (as a general rule- I realize there's around a quarter to half a million within the core fanbase who actually bought 3rd party titles on Wii U).
As long as they stick with the hybrid concept, these core gamers will continue to play on Switch for their portable gaming needs. If Nintendo ever deviates from the hybrid concept, I fear for their future. This IS their future. The only viable one anyways

@Knuckles-Fajita damn.. thats unfortunate. Can't remember but can you get all 3 games separately by digital purchase? Or does origins come as a digital pack
@Knuckles-Fajita sure hope there's an incentive to buying digitally if the origins is full price. Even So I'd much rather spend $30 on one game to start rather than $60 upfront for both
@nintendobynature
I wouldn’t get all worked up over a placeholder price for one game at one retailer.
Capcom has consistently priced their games fairly and competitively. Be it Okami HD, Onimusha Warlords, Dragons Dogma, Street Fighter and Mega Man Collections, Resident Evil Revelations and Resident Evil Revelations 2...
Practically every single game was $20-40, and identical to the price on other platforms.
So ya. Idk why anyone is using a premature placeholder from GameStop before we actually have any confirmation, especially when we have two full years of historical precedent contrary to the placeholder price. Maybe it is, maybe it isn’t, but I wouldn’t base anything off a placeholder price from one retailer. Seen this time and again. It’s like people posting release states from the placeholder dates. It’s not real. It’ll be updated later once that information is confirmed.

The RE games are up for preorder on the Aus store. $39.95 each. And no collection so far. Im hoping if you buy one you get a discount on the other games. Ill definitely pick up 0 as ive never played it but Remake, ehhh played it so many times and 4, well I can wait for a price drop.
@JaxonH I hear you. That's what caught me off gaurd. Was that all the other capcom releases were priced competitively so I was a bit taken back by this being $60 is all ( pending that the price is actually 60). I think we are finding out more tomorrow ( hopefully)
@nintendobynature
Ya. And I mean, it could be $60. I’m not saying it’s not. But that placeholder price isn’t indicative of anything, and furthermore we have evidence to suggest it’s actually more likely to be $39.99 just based on their previous Switch releases.

@JaxonH We're only talking about the physical release here. It seems Capcom is price gauging that right now. Digital looks to be both cheaper and more convenient.
Well, minus the 17gb downloads.

Nice. I was worried we wouldn't get the original. That's perfect.

Has anyone used the 8BitDo SN30 Pro on things like the NES games, NSMBUDX, or even BotW? I noticed that the thing is rechargeable, has rumble, and motion. I'm wanting something I can toss in my bag, and has as many features as possible. (My right joycon is drifting and I'm tired of dealing with it, too)
Halp. The site has so many options, I need opinions

@JackEatsSparrows yes, their controllers are great. They are my go to method when playing the NES games and retros (Capcom beat em up, MMX Legacy etc). To be honest I haven't tried them with modern games but I recommend them!
@redd214 That's good to hear. The 'dpad' on the joycon hurts if i'm getting into Kirby, and the pro controller doesn't play nice with tetris 99 or dr mario. Sounds like I might grab it after I do taxes this weekend
