Topic: The Nintendo Switch Thread

Looking at my collection of Wii U games, only have 14 physical games and 2 digital games left to obtain on Switch in some form:

• Yoshi's Woolly World
• Super Mario Maker
• Xenoblade Chronicles X

• Paper Mario Color Splash
• NES Remix 1+2

Nintendo Land I'm pretty sure will never come to Switch in any form.

Note that these sequels I'm counting as replacements for the Wii U versions:

• Mario Tennis Ultra Smash -> Mario Tennis Aces
• Super Smash Bros. for Wii U -> Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
• Splatoon -> Splatoon 2
• Mario Party 10 -> Super Mario Party

Godddd I want Xenoblade X, The Wonderful 101, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions to come over to Switch. They deserve another shot.

Lost World probably shouldn't be on that list anymore though, because it's on PC now.

@Grumblevolcano I highly doubt Rainbow Curse or Star Fox Guard will ever make it over. The rest seem almost inevitable at this point.

@Grumblevolcano im not sure NES Remix will ever see a switch port. unless Nintendo plans for a SNES Remix for switch somepoint.

@Aozz101x I would so totally buy that for the Switch!

@Aozz101x I think NES Remix 1+2 would come down to the online service's performance, maybe at a time when the online service's retro catalog is a lot more than just NES games and Smash's online is better if those ever happen.

Wind Waker, Color Splash and 3d World are the only ones I'm still hoping for. I'm sure we will get Mario Maker 2.0 in some form though and I would scoop that up as well.

Star Fox Zero and Guard would be near impossible with their dual screen gameplay baked in. Although, Wonderful 101 had some too, it was only small segments here and there throughout the game.

I don't know why people are expecting Tokyo Mirage Sessions. The game didn't do particularly well in the first place pretty much anywhere, to my knowledge.

With that said, if they ported it uncensored to the Switch, I'd absolutely pick it up.

3D World seems like such an obvious port, though.

I'm playing thru star Fox zero right now and i feel like you should just be able to swap between cockpit view and standard.

@Grumblevolcano You think both Xenoblade X and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE are both more likely to see a port than either Wind Waker HD or Twilight Princess HD? I would have said it's the other way round. In fact, I would argue that it's pretty unlikely we will see either Xenoblade X or Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE ported over.

@Ralizah Release date didn't help it though, we knew by then that NX was launching March 2017. Shortly after that NX release month announcement was the perfect time to sell your Wii U if you were into selling consoles as all that was coming in the future was Mario & Sonic 2016, Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, what seemed like Sticker Star 2 at the time (Color Splash) and a NX game (BotW).

@FragRed Dependent on how long the Switch lasts, I could see the upcoming 3D Zelda games on Switch potentially being just Skyward Sword HD and BotW sequel. Meanwhile a XCX port is required if XCX2 was to ever exist and the Xenoblade franchise has grown because of XC2. For Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, with Persona becoming relevant on a Nintendo system for the first time I think Atlus will let it have another chance.

I picked up the visual novel "Planetarium" recently and started it today. I picked it up blind, half because I want to just encourage devs to bring more VNs to Switch with English support. And half because I am enough of a sci-fi nerd that I figured I'd at least find it decent.

To my pleasant surprise I am really liking it! It's got two of my favorite things, dark sci-fi and a cute anime girl. But holy ball does it just punch you in the face immediately! IT IS NOT A HAPPY STORY! Not at all! I would go so far as to warn people away if they already struggle with depression!
