Smash Ultimate has already joined Super Mario Odyssey and LoZ Breath of the Wild as one of the killer apps for the system that'll keep selling throughout it's lifespan.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Splatoon 2 are also high up there (always in the Top 20 sales charts in most countries since release and never dropping off).
Pokémon Let's Go and Super Mario Party seem to perform fantastic as well. But it's too early to say what happens in the long run. They should easily hit at least 2 million.
Another safe bet for breaking 10 million is Animal Crossing next year.
Smash Ultimate really makes me want the Castlevania series to come to Switch. Sure I could buy most of the games on Wii U VC but Wii U is inconvenient.
Fun anecdote: I was going down the street today and saw a Switch box hanging out the top of an overfilled trashcan. Not sure who throws out the box to a brand new Switch, but still, pretty cool someone just got a new Switch
I would love to play all of the Castlevania games on my Switch. Castlevania 1, III, Rondo of Blood, IV, Symphony of the Night, Aria/Dawn of Sorrow, Order of Ecclesia... yes please!
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill

@HobbitGamer Wooly World was fantastic. Worth being compared to the original Yoshi's Island, even. Although I found Kirby's Epic Yawn to be a bit of a snoozer. Wooly World, on the other hand, could actually be quite challenging if you didn't use the badges.
The original footage of Crafted World looked all over the place to me, but now that I've seen more footage and get the theme (the environments are like little sets designed by small children for a class), it just seems incredibly fun and charming to me. Also, it's possibly the most beautiful looking 2D game ever made.
Woolly World was brilliant. One of the very best games on the Wii U, in fact I think I only enjoyed Pikmin 3 more. It’s right up there with Yoshis Island, which is something I never thought I’d say.
@HobbitGamer as someone who is currently replaying Woolly World I would highly recommend checking it out. I enjoyed it the first time but rushed through it before I took a long holiday so never felt I had seen everything it had to offer. Its an absolutely wonderful game full of charm and a real looker. I'm going to just go ahead and say its the better than Yoshis Island but then agdun while I loved that game to I dont have the love for it others have.
Wooly World is my second favorite Yoshi just behind Yoshi's Island but just just behind...
Another good point : playable solo AND with two players which is awesome today !
Awesome because, even the almighty Yoshi's Island doesn't have that possibility...
On the Wii U, you have the best plateformers :
_Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
_Super Mario 3D World
_Yoshi's Wooly World
_Rayman Legends (the best version, gamepad fonctions)
_Captain Toad Treasure tracker (the best version, gamepad fonctions)
_New Super Mario Bros U
_New super Luigi U
_Sonic Lost World (I love this game even with its flaws)
_Super Mario Maker (Infinitely replayable)
_Shovel Knight
Special case but still interesting :
_Teslagrad
_Legend of Kay
_PacMan and the ghostly adventure
_Pacman and the ghostly adventure 2
@Cobalt Great list of platformers on the Wii U, though I would suggest Lost World on the 3DS if you already have one and haven’t picked up this version yet. Sure, the graphic quality and resolution isn’t as good as on the Wii U version, but the overall gameplay is much better and is still one of my favorite Sonic games.

The opus on the Wii U was bashed so hard that I had to make my own opinion by trying it.
What a surprise when I took the gamepad in my hands... after 10 minutes, the time you need to get the controls right, it's a blast !
So much fun and a really fantastic vibe of "oldschoolness", I asked myself but why people bash this game that hard ? The answer was clear : "because it's on the Wii U...".
Sonic Lost World 3DS and Wii U are really cool from my perspective.
@GameOtaku Castlevania II isn't a terribly good game unfortunately. It's not a dumpster fire of a game and laid down some very important foundations for Metroidvanias in the future, but it's not a classic. I'd rather replay Zelda II instead, which is actually a really great game despite also having some problems.

Honestly, Woolly Word failed to really grab me. I got far but never finished it; every time I played I just felt like stopping shortly after. I feel that since everything was made of wool it diminished the uniqueness of each world; it all felt the same.
It looked gorgeous but otherwise it felt kinda dull. Lacked the excitement of the original SNES title.
A quick question, if you ever collected everything the first time you completed a level does Yoshi do a dance or something for 100%? I always felt he should but if I went back and redid a level and got 100%, the celebration was kinda muted.
Yep, Woolly World was too samey, too few transformations and changes in gameplay. Well made, looked lovely, but samey. I haven't seen anything of the new one that makes me think it will be any more varied.
Flutter jumping just gets a bit tiresome after a while.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
