@HobbitGamer he's more of a broken record but yeah I know what you mean well never hear the end of it if they do it. At least he isnt making out he has contacts on the inside anymore with the associated cryptic nonsense.
Personally I don't think the original Mortal Kombat trilogy has aged very well not in the same way Street Fighter or King of Fighters have. I think Deadly Alliance still has some merit I spent forever unlocking everything in The Krypt (I think that's what it is was called) and fired it up a few weeks back for a few rounds and it's still pretty fun.
I'm curious to see what we have announced at the awards show. There's a lot I'd like to see but if there's one thing id like to see announced is some kind of exclusive rewards for Nintendo Online users. The service has been divisive but I think coming close to the end of ybe year it would be a good time to show the fans who have supported the service some love.
@Therad Didn't Interplay own Clay Fighters? Did anyone buy that at the fire sale, or is that another in the IP list that's forever tied to that VC firm that gobbled them and sent Fargo and friends to inExile (now MS?)
@Octane XC Localization: Yeah, that was the era when Reggie and Kimishima ran NoA and seemed to be under the impression that Nintendo wasn't about core games, it was about lifestyle products for people who buy Bose systems in a box, in all-white rooms for casual non-gaming interactive entertainment. Music games, puzzle games, nothing with stories.
Good times.
Man, I hated the Wii after the first two years.....
I don't remember, but they could always do an "inspired by". I think a talented team could do something fun with Clay fighters, probably better than the original.
@NEStalgia Yeah same. The Wii has some absolute gems among it's strange games. (Elebits anyone? Zack and Wiki?) But I didn't even bother repairing my Wii when it broke because the first few years were so bad. Not that the games were (all) bad. Super Paper Mario, Mario Galaxy 1+2, DKCR, Okami, even Spiderman Shattered Dimensions were great, they were just few and far between.
When I got the Wii U, I finally played Skyward Sword, (some of) Last Story and Xenoblade Chronicles. Still want to play Pandora's Tower, but really those three games could have done so much more if they'd come on time.
E3 2008 pretty much sums up the Wii era though if infamous events like that and E3 2012 didn't happen maybe we wouldn't have had Directs. Getting new Nintendo info every few months is still very refreshing compared to the old system where E3 is everything (though I do wish Nintendo would take E3 more seriously, E3 2018 would've been a lot better if the Smash segment got replaced by the Isabelle section of the September Direct).
Never played The Last Story, but I do hear that some people said it's better than XC Makes me hope this is real
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? That would be quite a surprise. An awesome one, too! I enjoyed the first one enough, though I do remember feeling it couldn't hold a candle near Lost Odyssey, Sakaguchi's work prior to TLS.
@Grumblevolcano I suppose it's hard to fault Nintendo's E3 seriousness when compared to the competition "showing up" is "winning E3" 2 months ago I'd have agreed.
Soup also just reported on MP Trilogy being listed in Sweden. And Amazon Spain broke Smash street date because there's a three day holiday. What the what.

Got Hyrule Warriors Defintive Edition, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate for Switch and a Nintendo Switch Pro Controller on Hanukkah last Sunday. And I must say, the Switch Pro Controller is amazing. While I like the Joy-Cons better, I love the Switch Pro Controller even more. Now I hope I can either get Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu (Game and Pokeball Plus bundle pack) and Smash Bros Ultimate for my birthday in two weeks.
@Alantor28 Congrats!! The Switch version was the first time I played Hyrule Warriors, and I loved it. It's the only 'Warriors' game I've enjoyed enough to own myself. You're gonna love that controller's battery life, too.

BTW, I may play Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate at some point on my Switch, so if anyone would like to help me with some quests, my Friend Code is in my signature.
