Skyward Sword remaster for €60? I'll pass

If we're talking about aged graphics, I'd like to point to OOT and MM again. Wind Waker and Twilight Princess are playable on their last three consoles, so it's definitely not a priority for me. And I didn't really like Skyward Sword. Any game Nintendo releases is going to be €60, so I rather have a new game, or a complete remake of OOT/MM, something that's worth paying for €60 IMO.

Remaster OoT and MM with the TPHD engine and I’ll salivate till I’m dehydrated. They could pack a saline IV drip for recovery and charge $100.

@HobbitGamer The TPHD engine is the TP engine. Wii U can run GameCube and Wii games natively, so they used the same engine, same game, just with higher quality textures. Twilight Princess HD still looks pretty bad IMO. I needed a remake more than a remaster.

@MsJubilee
It's the way in which it's said, not what's being said. The whole "eyes bleed" nonsense and general relishing any time there's something he finds to flaunt in an effort to, you guessed it, make people less excited, or eliminate as many sources of excitement as possible and diminish those he can't eliminate. Which, in objective balance is perfectly fine as that is not the actual agenda or goal. It's just a side effect of objective analysis. But when that becomes the actual goal on a macro scale... then we have a problem.

Had anyone else posted that, I would've had no problem with it. Because it's why it's being posted that bothers most people, not what's being posted. Of course he will hide behind the pretense of " just sharing a video" and you will defend him under that false pretense claiming it's "a warning". But it is a false pretense, as I challenge you to find how many posts he's made "just sharing a video" or "just sharing stats" and you'll notice a pattern where he only posts them when it's bad or negative or something bad or negative can be interpreted out of it, or illegitimately spun out of it. Again I point to the hypocrisy of not sharing stats when Nintendo is blowing away other consoles 10:1, not sharing videos where games are running beautifully, not sharing anything that would actually garner excitement. Because what he chooses to post and share has been carefully hand selected to accomplish his never ending agenda. And that is what bothers people. It's the why, not the what. It's his motives for sharing, not the object being shared. And his motive is not "Cobalt cares". People see right through that. And people like that generally rub others the wrong way.

And after a while, you recognize the pattern and connect the dots, and you start seeing the agenda in every single post he makes. To a newcomer looking in from the outside it might seem like an unfair judgment. But to someone who has broken the code and seen the long term pattern, it makes perfect sense. Maybe people can change- I'd welcome him with open arms if he did. But as of yet I see no evidence of any such change on the horizon.

I would buy Wind Waker a third time on Switch. Skyward Sword for me would depend on the control scheme. Twilight Princess isn't a must have for me but I could see it happening as a filler between bigger titles. If there was a game in dire need of a remaster for Switch though I'd say it was Mario Sunshine.

Yes. Mario sunshine hd would be a thing of dreams

Touch controls for Sword swipes could work in handheld, either that or they automate your attacks in the orientation needed simply by pressing buttons. It would definitely make the combat less interesting but they could provide it as an option so that people could play without motion or touch. Knowing Nintendo though, they won't provide that option. But touch could still take care of the handheld portion, with motion for the TV. Maybe get rid of the pointer though. Is that possible? Just use motion for gestures in combat or flying the insect, and have everything else be tied to a button or analog?

@JaxonH I'd guess Nintendo would use the Super Mario Party approach. Unplayable in handheld mode and Joy-con with motion controls for docked and tabletop. Also think they'd take this approach if Metroid Prime Trilogy came to Switch (for Prime 3 at the very least).

It's an option but... I really don't think they'd do that for Zelda. I think they'd add touch, at the very least. Maybe buttons as well but at least touch.

@JaxonH Having to switch between holding your Switch in both hands to using one hand for touch all the time doesn't sound like a great solution though, seems a bit awkward in tense combat-heavy situations where you need access to all buttons and attack at the same time.

It would be pretty annoying to try to play it with touch then quickly swap back to buttons imo. Who knows though.

Ya, I don't think it's a great solution either but, but we've seen it done for other games. And it is a solution, as opposed to not being able to play at all in handheld, which I don't think they'll do.

edit
The analog stick idea someone mentioned is also a solution. But one way or another I think they'll figure out a way for the game to be played and handheld mode.

This is so freaking rad. Rathalos boss fight in Smash plays out almost exactly how it would in Monster Hunter. You can throw this deku ball at him and it works like a flash bomb, knocking him out of the air. This is so amazing- you can even break parts! Not sure if that includes face, wings and cutting tail, but gosh dang they did justice to this fight

@JaxonH It would seem that just doing enough damage while flying knocks it down. The Deku Seed nor the Pitfall Trap items specifically seem to trigger it.

Ya, gyro for motion in Metroid Prime Trilogy would work (which I really hate talking about given it's not been confirmed or even hinted at yet- I want it to be so badly but I'm afraid to be let down). So would translating the motion into traditional dual analog for all 3 games, since all 3 got motion added in. So a dual analog approach with optional gyro, that would be best.

I understand certain games like Mario Party not using handheld, but that really is the exception. And a necessary one because there's simply no way that game would work in handheld mode. But a hypothetical Zelda Skyward Sword and Metroid Prime Trilogy would definitely need to be playable in handheld mode. Otherwise I'm better off pairing a Wiimote to my PC and using Dolphin. Or using GPD Win 2 for the first 2 Metroid Prime games.

@DarthNocturnal The Pro Controller has one big advantage over the GameCube controller, and that's the addition of a ZL button. Shooters like Doom 2016 have progressed by holding down a button for a weapon wheel, so hold down the L button and it'll just work like the Trilogy version, where then you'll tilt the right stick to which weapon you'll use.

@DarthNocturnal I would still keep the D-Pad available for swapping visors and allow people to swap beams that way.

For any cricket lovers out there (stop laughing, there may be one or two people besides me!), the switch gets it’s first cricket game this week!

It’s by an Aussie dev (big ant - the same ones who make Don Bradman cricket) and based on the Aussie Big Bash (read: our T20 league) so not sure how widespread the release/interest will be, but thought i’d post here anyway - pretty cool that they’ve included switch after all!

(Asterix also releases this week which i’m really interested in!)
