Yeah, August looks fine. It's September that's looking rough for anyone who's not interested in Valkyria Chronicles 4. Or maybe 1 as well if that actually does release in the west... or has English available to download off the JP eshop. I don't even know what if anything else is releasing that month.
@Therad
No, quantity and quality aren't the same thing. But neither are they mutually exclusive.
What makes you think I'm not buying all the best games? All the games I buy are THE absolute best. So I've got half a terabyte of the best games on the system
So in my case, I have quantity AND quality, no offense (why you would think I fill my system with mediocrity and skip out on better games is truly beyond me- I've got half a terabyte of the best games money can buy, and anything I cant fit, its because I have 500gb of games I deem better that take priority).
Point being, no one has any ground to tell me I'm being silly or missing out, especially when I'm missing far, far less than they are. And that I can guarantee. Even this game- Banner Saga? Already own it. There's practically nothing I'm missing. Can anyone else here honestly say the same? If not, then ya really dont have any place lecturing me about missing good games.
@darkfenrir Oh right! Well... I have to finish that game first before I start on the DLC. I'm personally packed, so no games is fine by me. Especially with how Hollow Knight obsessed I am.
On other news, South Park: The Stick of Truth is coming out digitally in September, so add that game onto the pile.
@Anti-Matter Currently, I think the Expansion Pass is being released as a separate cartridge with the standalone DLC, and a code for the contents that affects the main game.
It's only in digital form, but still. The reveal is hidden away in Ubisoft's quarterly financial reports, which, besides figures and numbers of the past quarter, also offers a glimpse of what the coming quarter has to offer: https://ubistatic19-a.akamaihd.net/comsite_common/en-US/image...

@link3710 I think August is more rough month though the paid online service could make September very rough. Either way, at least September has the Xenoblade 2 DLC. That'll be lengthy for sure.
@Grumblevolcano Well, I more meant for people who don't like RPGs. Between Octopath, YS VIII, Shining Resonance, South Park, X2 - Torna, Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Code of Princess EX and to a lesser degree Valkyria Chronicles 4 (and maybe one), more than half the big name titles coming out in this three month period are RPGs. Which is heaven for me, but other people... eh, I'm sure they feel underwhelmed.
EDIT: Not to forget that one of the three big titles for the latter half of the year is an RPG as well, with Pokemon Let's Go.
EDIT 2: Thinking about it, I think we're getting more RPGs this year alone than the Wii U got across it's entire lifespan.
August is Okami HD, Tales of Vesperia, Little Dragon's Cafe, Overcooked 2, Dead Cells, Victor Vran and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. A solid release month.
September is Mutant League Football, FIFA 19, SNK Heroines, Valkyria Chronicles 4, The World Ends With You and Dragonball Fighter Z. Another solid release month.
October is Mega Man 11, Disgaea 1, Starlink Battle For Altus, NBA 2K19, My Hero One's Justice and Super Mario Party. I'm just in it for Mega Man and Starlink.
November and December are Pokémon Let's Go, Super Smash Bros and all the undated games such as Team Sonic Racing, GRIP, God Wars, Pillars of Eternity 2, Ark Survival Evolved, PixArk, Dark Souls, and whatever else gets announced.

I'm just assuming anything that doesn't have a date by August, probably isn't going to release in August, September or October. Of course I'm secretly hoping they come out and announce it's releasing in September but at this point, I'm just not counting on it. They haven't even announced the network test which is supposedly going to come before the game releases.

@JaxonH I see, that makes sense. I worry that it’s going to go the way of Steep should we not hear a date for 2018. Officially in development but quietly and unofficially cancelled.

@FragRed
That's not gonna happen. Steep never had a playable demo. Furthermore, it was a current gen game which clearly may have some issues scaling down to a less powerful platform.
Dark Souls on Switch is already in a perfectly playable state, as reported by numerous people who played the game. So the work is already done and it's playing good. They are not just going to wad up all that work- basically a 95% finished game, and throw it away. Not to mention it's a last generation game which would not face the same issue of scaling down to less powerful hardware.
Whatever the issue is, it's not something that can't be overcome. Either they purposefully delayed to milk sales of the other versions or they purposefully announced early knowing it would come later to do Nintendo a favor and generate hype for Switch, or they encountered some bugs or exploits that need to be resolved before release. We've seen how that goes with games like Hollow Knight- where they think they're at the finish line but it takes a while to wrap everything up.
