@Anti-Matter Yeah, irrelevant of the content the airing date itself is not believable.

If a Direct happens this month it'll likely be 19th or 26th (small chance of 18th/25th).

There's been a few on Sundays before most notably to my mind the year of Luigi one*, of course this was when they were more frequently and includes the time zone differences of it being on a Monday in Japan but Sunday elsewhere in the world.

Of course it makes more sense to do it during the working week tho as it encourages more news coverage.

*scratch that, google says the Luigi one was on a Thursday lol

@DarthNocturnal Timing is the key, the fewer games there are in the near future the more people question about when the next Direct is and with Octopath/Captain Toad released we are entering one of those "drought" windows

"One of those drought windows" with Sonic Mania Plus tomorrow, Mega Man X later this month, Okami at the start of August, Monster Hunter at the end.

Not the most packed lineup, but its good.

Remember Hungry Shark World that got a rating a few months ago? Just got released right now. (At least it’s not a Crossy Roads ripoff)

How will I ever finish YS VIII when Octopath demands every waking second!

How will I make time for Captain Toad and Shining Resonance which are being utterly neglected?!

And God help us when Mega Man X Collection and Okami HD release. I hope I've cleared all these 80 hour games out of the way by then.

But come 30 days from now, the world will probably stop spinning on its axis when Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate drops. Every game is getting backlogged on August 28th.

@JaxonH Ys VIII is 80 hours? I'm at 45 currently (And 6 were in the post-game super dungeon....god help you there bud!) and I imagine it'll be 50 at the end.

Let's put it this way- every Monster Hunter game to date, I got 400-600 hours... Xenoblade X? 600 hrs... Xenoblade 2? 200 hours... Fire Emblem Awakening? 100 hours...

I'd be shocked... no. I'd be downright amazed if I didn't see somewhere in the 70-80 hour range for YS VIII.

@Knuckles-Fajita Took me 43 hours to get the true ending. Should probably overall be like 50-60 hours for 100% completion.

@EvilLucario 39 for me. I may have missed a quest for Licht though, and a couple of Fish need to be caught too. Outside of that the last things to do are various hunts, raids and the third super boss.

@JaxonH Despite having never enjoyed a JRPG in the past I'm going to take a chance on Octopath. Its world is calling me to explore it. The demo didn't click with me but I'm not going to let that put me off. If I still can't get into it after buying it then I'll have to accept JRPG's just aren't for me. If it does though then that opens up a whole new genre for me and I can look forward to games like Shin Megami Tensai and the World Ends With You.

Just started my Hollow Knight adventure yesterday. What a game!

@OorWullie I too never played a JRPG before but there was something about the game that made me want to really try it out and I am glad I did with the demo because after ordering the game, I am really getting into it, so hopefully it will click with you too when you start playing it properly.
