Some games don't show the discount because it takes them a while to update the listing. It has nothing to do with excluding remasters are re-released games. All games get the discount even if it takes them a while to update the listing.

Hollow Knight wasn't really what you'd call a "port" though. It was Kickstarted for both PC and Wii U simultaneously, the Wii U version transitioning to Switch midway through development. The PC version did in fact release first but that doesn't mean the Switch version was a "port". They just prioritized the PC version first. I mean, technically all games are ports aside from the lead platform. But when people use the terminology of port I don't think that's what they're referring to.
Now, when Hollow Knight eventually makes it to PS4 and X1 a few years down the line, those will be ports. Switch was the debut console release originally planned for (Wii U transition aside).
@IceClimbers
Where do you see this policy? This is not the first time I've heard people bring it up, but every time somebody brings it up it's because they see a game not showing the discount and it's simply a matter of them having not updated the listing yet. And every single time the game gets the discount a month later or two months later or whenever they decide to update the page. I have yet to ever see a game specifically excluded aside from the collector editions.

@Joeynator3000 you are a jinx. I just realized my pro controller has bad drift. It centers but if you move it up or down it won't always extend full and then drifts back to center. Argh, 6 months worth of pro usage in Splatoon and it's dead! That game devours controllers! I just had to buy an x1 elite to replace a right stick drift and my switch pro drifts.... And i still can't tell about the yellow joycon.....
@Joeynator3000 none on hand, though I have an electric one meant for pc repair shops (saves money on cases of cans) i could try. Not sure where to blow it still, though. I tried blowing on it like an nes cart though . At first i thought it helped... Then, no.
I can see there being a Direct this month or next month letting us know some games which are coming out Oct/Nov/Dec <- Although Dec might be stretching it with Smash releasing. Oct/Nov will let them build up Xmas sales.
Animal Crossing? Pikmin? Zelda HD port? Mario Maker? Couple of suggestions there.
Honestly the "Switch tax" is probably mostly because since Nintendo fans are used to premium prices that Nintendo tends to do, the market just adjusts for that.
Could be talking out of my ass. But it does exist for a reason.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
@NEStalgia Not with mine, my air can has this straw/tube thing, so I could lift the rubber up and try to stick the tube in there (it's difficult when holding the controller with one hand and the can in the other. lol) and did it that way.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
@Joeynator3000 hmm that's hopeful then..... I'll have to find something to poke it with to find the rubber flap. I don't think pro controller has the flap though.
