Did South Park: TFBW ever get its game-breaking bugs patched?

Put in around two hours into Ys VIII, decided to set it to Hard difficulty even though I've never played a Ys game before. Should be fun! Combat is interesting, need to play more to determine my feelings on it, but impressions are positive right now. It reminds me a lot like Bayonetta, except nowhere near as complex (yet).

@Ralizah Oh man, Ys looks really sharp on both my monitor and handheld. That's really good. But as a compromise, the level of detail in the environments is just acceptable. It certainly looks nice no matter where you play it, something Xenoblade 2 can't boast about as well (despite me loving that game so much), though Xenoblade 2 also has the benefit of being a lot more polished and detailed, at least from my early impressions.

I'm gonna keep playing though. I have a feeling this'll be one of my top Switch games by year's end.

@subpopz Strange. I ordered it with Amazon Prime and it was on-point. That's unlucky though.

A Mass Effect producer blames Nintendo and the release of BOTW for Mass Effect Andromeda not getting a fair shot.

They blame ZELDA for a game that doesn't even share a system with Zelda, not doing well.

That's nonsense. Horizon didn't have any problem selling copies and it came out around the same time.

Ya South Park is all patched up now.

Got Y's VIII Collector Edition from the NIS Store, and its gorgeous. The box, the art book, cd... even came with a letter opener like the sword in its own separate Collector box.

Game looks beautiful. I only got to the menu so far but gosh dang it looks gorgeous on the menu 😁

@JaxonH Exactly. It's BioWare refusing to look inward for problems and at the insane amounts of pre-launch negative impressions.

@IceClimbers @JaxonH Brilliant! The game is on sale again, so I'm thinking about picking it up.

@EvilLucario This was the proper compromise, though. As you point out, Ys VIII looks sharp and pleasant no matter which way you play it, whereas Xenoblade 2 is much more detailed (and is absolutely stunning when docked) but looks shockingly fuzzy at times in handheld mode. People have been talking at length about resolution drops in this version, so I'm glad to see that it seems mostly hyperbolic right now. Putting aside the PS2-esque animations and level of environmental detail, the game itself looks really clean on the Switch, which is all I could have hoped for. And it's still a good deal more detailed than the Vita version, which has barely any foliage in it.

@Knuckles-Fajita Typical corporate behavior, pointing the finger elsewhere and never trying to improve what they did wrong. I do hope Anthem is a good game and it’s a success just for the sake of the people who work at Bioware as we all know what EA has done before.

According to Amazon, my copy of Ys should be arriving tomorrow. I was hoping I'd get it at launch (it said it'd be a "launch day" delivery), but when the actual shipping notification popped up it said Wednesday.

Still, I didn't put in the order until last Thursday or Friday, so that may have something to do with it.

on related switch news that Teddy game that's been rumored for Switch and 3DS is real. (not sure if this game and tomodachi has same type of gameplay. hopefully a new tomodachi isn't to far out of question.)

Btw, Level-5 has announced Yokai Watch World for mobile.
But, last time they said they wanted to announce Yokai Watch 4 2nd trailer, also probably about Yokai Watch 3 localization. Is it today ?

Yea, it's obvious they're bitter over what went down with that game. I'm upset about it, too, to be honest. I was a HUGE Mass Effect fan. I loved the story in the first two games, and I put insane hours into the multiplayer in the second one.

But I never even bought Andromeda after everything I saw/heard about it. And that's really unfortunate. I definitely got/get the sense that EA thought the franchise was simply too big to fail, no matter what difficulties Andromeda encountered; they thought it would sell anyway just based on the name and fanbase.

In a way it was an encouraging moment for me to see gamers actually putting their collective foot down and not purchasing something that was so flawed, even from a massively successful franchise. And that led into some good minor victories over loot box schemes in some proceeding EA games.

Footage of Crash Bandicoot on Switch is coming out and er...now I see why the trailers aren't showing much gameplay.

Anyone else see a LOT of blurriness?

@rallydefault Only thing I really like is they sorted his eyes out.

That and the removal of his fur means he no longer illuminates rooms. XD Seriously, all the weird lighting issues on Crash are because of that damn fur.

@Knuckles-Fajita Nah. Game looks really nice, based on the footage I've seen. Really impressed with this port.

@Knuckles-Fajita If I squinted my eyes, MAYBE a little bit and I won't be surprised if it's not at 1080p. But in motion, it won't matter.

Plus, Crash's fur no longer looks horrible in dark areas.
