@JaxonH That's easily the most likely options, especially since the NX was always referred to as a 'Platform' not a hardware. It's a matter of when, not if, more hardware joins the Switch branding.

So let me tell you something that'll blow your mind. You know how Microsoft and Nintendo are both pushing crossplay like mad, with Nintendo even going out their way to feature the Xbox One in an ad of their own?

Well, think back to the NX name. Now think about the names of both Nintendo and the Xbox.

NX.
N-intendo.
X-box.
NX.

The signs was clear since 2015.
Coincidence????? I think not!

Clippy would be awesome. I can't remember how many times I wanted to bash him.

@jaxonh probably something along those lines. I think Nintendo wants a cheaper alternative to the switch for kids, and it would be moronic if it wasn't in some capacity compatible with switch, at least really simple to port to.

If you all remember those interviews with Iwata back in the day, he talked about nx becoming an eco system like iOS and used phrases like "handheld and console would be like siblings". Finding cheap arms based hardware is easy thanks to smartphones, so I think they could make easily something cheaper and more powerful than the new 3ds.

Here's a strange one, my left Joy-con has felt rather loose for a while and when playing in handheld it would move enough that it would frequently think I'd actually slid the Joy-con off. The connect controller screen would pop up and I'd need to push down for the click and hit L/R to reconnect again. It was happening so frequently that I've just been playing docked or tabletop mode for the last couple of months.

For the last few days my Joy-con haven't been connected to the console as I've been playing Mario Odyssey while my Switch has been docked.I went to slide them on there and noticed the left one wasn't going in as easily as it normally would. Nothing drastic but it definitley needs more force to go in than the right one. That should be cause for concern but nope, now my left Joy-con feels perfect. No movement at all, firm as can be, even my right one moves slightly. It still slides on and off no problem, it just needs a little more force. I really can't believe the difference in how it feels in handheld.

I'm pretty sure the issue was with the rail on the console rather than a dodgy Joy-con so I'm assuming my console must been warped slightly. As long as it doesn't warp any more then it's been a beneficial warp

@JaxonH @Therad I don't know if they would make the joy cons fixed to the system, as that would create problems for some titles such as the up coming Super Mafrio Party that seems to put a massive emphasis on the use on separate joy cons for motion controls in the mini games, or Labo that again requires the joy cons to be removed from the tablet.

I wouldn't be surprised if they decide to make another day or fixed joycons. Or less powerful for that matter. Because if they do that, they can buy dirt cheap chipsets and create a very cost effective handheld. If they can make it as cheap as lower end phones, they will be appealing to parents.

...and unable to run the higher end games created for Switch. Why would Nintendo want to do that? Then you'd have the same situation with two systems to provide games for.

Don't think it would make any sense to make their consoles less powerful. They'd probably just wait for the tech to get cheaper or find other ways to cut costs, but they wouldn't make a weaker version.

@MisterPi yeah I agree. I'd see a cheaper smaller version without detachable joycons work btw, with optional dock. Could take a while though...

This looks acceptable. Nothing more, nor less.

Hard to tell given most of the trailer isn't actual in-game shots...

@rallydefault It's a launch trailer for Crash on Switch, that game coming out this Friday. May have heard of it?

I said it looks fine. Problem is most of the trailer is dynamic not actually in the game shots and angles, or cinematics, instead of seeing how it looks in gameplay.

I don't think they'll sell it with fixed joy-cons.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Pre ordered and looking forward to seeing DF video on all versions of Crash.

@Knuckles-Fajita Looks good to me. I'm sure if you freeze-frame and squint at it you'll be able to find a hundred deficiencies compared to the home console versions, but it looks VERY nice for a portable platformer.

I know it was present in the E3 Direct but Dark Souls Remastered has been removed from the "Coming Soon" section of the UK eshop. Maybe the same has happened for the other eshops?

Also, on another note. Those who joked about Yoshi being delayed due to Labo support may be onto something, there's a MK8 Deluxe update out now which adds Labo support.
