Pikmin 4 where are you!? Retro studios, why aren’t you making games!? It’s your job!
I liked the direct overall though. who is making that mech game because that looked pretty awesome!
Edit: oh and about smash. YES! Tp designs are OUT. And new designs are IN. I was personally hoping for toon ganon, but I’m very satisfied with the OoT design.
So let's see how everything panned out, from the start of the leaks and early announcements to the final presentation.
Fire Emblem. And it looks like a current gen Path of Radiance... dreams do come true ✨
We got a new Sonic Racing game. Check. And it does look really good. Awesome.
We got Tales of Vesperia- one of the RPG greats: check. I'm really excited for that one.
We got a new Mario Party game- it looked ok. As far as Mario Party goes, it looks fun on Switch.
We got Mutant League Football. Honestly, this is the kind of sports game I like.
We got Starfox in Starlink, which btw, looks fabulous.
We got Trials Rising. Trials is awesome. Great game for Switch.
We (apparently) got Wolfenstein Youngblood. That's great news there for sure.
We got Pokémon Let's Go coming this November. I really love this one. On Treehouse now.
We got Fortnite, available now. That's huge.
We got Paladins, available now. Also huge.
We got Hollow Knight, available now. FINALLY. This is hype.
We got Dragonball Fighter Z. That's fantastic. Another top tier fighter on Switch.
We got Daemon X Machina, which... actually looks pretty rad.
New Smash. Major compilation celebratory thing. Looks great, just waiting on single player news.
We got Ninjala from GungHo. Looks pretty fun!
Also got Hyper Sports R from Konami. Love these modern takes on retro classics. Feels like new SNES.
FIFA 19, and honest to goodness it actually looks really good on the handheld.
NBA 2k19. What more can be said.
New Atelier Alchemists game. That's cool.
Fallout Shelter. Mobile, but a high quality and popular game.
Elder Scrolls Legends. Now this one actually looks intriguing. Switch needs games like this.
Elder Scrolls Blades (maybe?) Said it's coming to "all platforms" eventually.
Few good indies (Dust Elysian Tale, Overcooked 2, Cosmic Star Heroine).
And... that's pretty much it. So, not a terribly exciting e3 for Nintendo, but still, coupled with the games we already knew about beforehand, there's a really solid lineup of games this year. I just expected to see Retro's game and Pikmin. Had they announced those two games there I would have nothing to say.
Even so, there's a gang of games I'm excited for. And that's not even counting the other platforms (which will add to that list Spider-Man, Kingdom Hearts 3, Death Stranding, Last of Us 2, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, Gears Tactics, Gears 6, Forza Horizon 4, Halo Infinite, Cyberpunk 2077 and the new From Software game).
But ya, this year was definitely all Microsoft. Upset of the decade there. I had pretty much written them off the rest of the generation. But Spencer came riding in on a freaking rhinoceros and smashed that conference into confetti.

Guess it's safe to say Nintendo is a believer in ''don't put all your eggs in one basket'' these days. This direct taken out of context may seem underwhelming, but that's mainly because many games are already coming out shortly and/or have been talked about at length already. What happened to ''trimming the fat before E3'' being a good thing? Just this month I have three notable entries to look forward to: Sushi Striker (yeah, the demo sold me), Mario Tennis Aces and the Donkey Kong Adventure DLC.
Also, Smash Ultimate has to have SOMETHING significant for single-player if they expect us to unlock every character except the 64 base.
This E3 was really good for Xbox and PS4. I am disappointed with the Switch. It got shovelware and some big Nintendo games that I do not play unfortunately.
I will keep an eye for some games in the future but I will focus on PC.
It sucks to just stay and hope your console is shown at the end of every trailer. And 99% it is not.
I will still use the Switch for Zelda, Metroid and Pokemon games. And if something like Skyrim, Doom, Titan Quest, Dark Souls comes I will pick it up.
Can we talk about Fire Emblem Three Houses now? This was the best game at e3 imo. Oh my gosh it looks amazing!
It's like a modern Path of Radiance, with all the cool new features of Fates like zooming into battle from the map in real time, menus have been overhauled, new art style, noticeably improved voice work...
This is going to rival Zelda Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade 2.

I'm still not quite sure why people thought Microsoft's conference was so good. They showed off 90% multiplat games, like they do pretty much every year. Little reason to say: "I should buy an Xbox to play [x]."
@JaxonH I got that sense. IS went big with FE. This is FE's Mario Odyssey or BotW.

The point of an E3 conference is to get people hyped on the games coming to it. Microsoft did just that and it was great. I hate that people think a conference should only be judged by its exclusives, it should also show you how cool it is to play multiplats on the console that the conference is for. Or at the very least to show how many great games in addition to the exclusives will be coming to the console. So yeah, I think MS did very well, and actually understood what gamers wanted from an e3 conference, even if their exclusives are a ways off
@Ralizah
But the multiplats were good. And they will play best on the X, to some extent depending on the game.
That aside, they had Gears 6, a new Gears Tactics (super hype), Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 4, Ori & the Will of the Wisps, Crackdown 3 (even if it isn't my type of game, I recognize it has appeal), and others I'm forgetting I'm sure.
I think the biggest thing though, is expectations were so astronomically low for MS. So that really magnified the impact of their announcements.
Anyways, Fire Emblem. Man... I can't contain the hype! This is IT. This is exactly how I envisioned the new FE would look like.

@Ralizah Microsoft showed the most games. Full stop. And that's what E3 is about. It doesn't matter if they weren't exclusive. So what? They were all still coming to Xbox.
Splatoon stage in Smash! And the inklings shoot paint that actually covers the other players. Wow. This Smash does look awesome. They need single player though! To unlock all those characters, there's gonna have to be some substantial single player content.
edit
Dragonball Fighter Z will run 1080p and 60fps. I recall some people saying it couldn't handle 60fps, much less while hitting full 1080p.

Bleh, I hope they don't consider 8 player smash important enough to brag about again. That was the most disappointing of the Wii U "modes". Give me smaller battles inside of a proper campaign and I'll be happy
The disappointment for me is we went into the show expecting a focus on 2018 games, that's fine, I didn't expect Metroid or anything else. But we came out of it with less 2018 games than beforehand. FE has slipped into 2019 and Yoshi has disappeared into the ether with only Mario Party being announced for 2018. There's a big gap between Captain Toad and Mario Party in terms of first-party games, then another 6 week gap to Pokemon. As it stands (pending any unannounced Wii U ports) it's a Christmas line-up with big names but a distinctly shallow feel.
