Can we talk about Fire Emblem Three Houses now? This was the best game at e3 imo. Oh my gosh it looks amazing!
It's like a modern Path of Radiance, with all the cool new features of Fates like zooming into battle from the map in real time, menus have been overhauled, new art style, noticeably improved voice work...
This is going to rival Zelda Breath of the Wild and Xenoblade 2.

I'm still not quite sure why people thought Microsoft's conference was so good. They showed off 90% multiplat games, like they do pretty much every year. Little reason to say: "I should buy an Xbox to play [x]."
@JaxonH I got that sense. IS went big with FE. This is FE's Mario Odyssey or BotW.
The point of an E3 conference is to get people hyped on the games coming to it. Microsoft did just that and it was great. I hate that people think a conference should only be judged by its exclusives, it should also show you how cool it is to play multiplats on the console that the conference is for. Or at the very least to show how many great games in addition to the exclusives will be coming to the console. So yeah, I think MS did very well, and actually understood what gamers wanted from an e3 conference, even if their exclusives are a ways off
@Ralizah
But the multiplats were good. And they will play best on the X, to some extent depending on the game.
That aside, they had Gears 6, a new Gears Tactics (super hype), Halo Infinite, Forza Horizon 4, Ori & the Will of the Wisps, Crackdown 3 (even if it isn't my type of game, I recognize it has appeal), and others I'm forgetting I'm sure.
I think the biggest thing though, is expectations were so astronomically low for MS. So that really magnified the impact of their announcements.
Anyways, Fire Emblem. Man... I can't contain the hype! This is IT. This is exactly how I envisioned the new FE would look like.

@Ralizah Microsoft showed the most games. Full stop. And that's what E3 is about. It doesn't matter if they weren't exclusive. So what? They were all still coming to Xbox.
Splatoon stage in Smash! And the inklings shoot paint that actually covers the other players. Wow. This Smash does look awesome. They need single player though! To unlock all those characters, there's gonna have to be some substantial single player content.
edit
Dragonball Fighter Z will run 1080p and 60fps. I recall some people saying it couldn't handle 60fps, much less while hitting full 1080p.
Bleh, I hope they don't consider 8 player smash important enough to brag about again. That was the most disappointing of the Wii U "modes". Give me smaller battles inside of a proper campaign and I'll be happy
The disappointment for me is we went into the show expecting a focus on 2018 games, that's fine, I didn't expect Metroid or anything else. But we came out of it with less 2018 games than beforehand. FE has slipped into 2019 and Yoshi has disappeared into the ether with only Mario Party being announced for 2018. There's a big gap between Captain Toad and Mario Party in terms of first-party games, then another 6 week gap to Pokemon. As it stands (pending any unannounced Wii U ports) it's a Christmas line-up with big names but a distinctly shallow feel.
IMHO what a lot of people wanted from MS was a statement of intent. They've lacked exclusives and seem to be moving towards an ecosystem/service type of setup and there was even talk of them leaving the industry.
We got that. Not much with an actual release date but lots and lots of games, talk of next-gen and the impression that they aren't going anywhere.
@Knuckles-Fajita
Really? I hadn't realized that. That gives me more faith in the game because I know Nintendo backs quality video games. It already looked good (really good), but now I can put my faith in it knowing Nintendo has put theirs in it.
@DarthNocturnal
That's good to hear. So, progress carries over from other platforms (minus PS4), built in voice chat (even if you do need an extension, which I bought), touch screen support, and I'm hoping they can add motion controls because they were talking about adding Switch exclusive features in the Treehouse interview.
@electrolite77 To be fair about the lineup, it's not that bad if you consider 3rd Party releases and DLC. Between and Mario Party we have:
Octopath Traveler
Lego The Incredibles
Sonic Mania Plus
20XX
Okami HD
YS VIII
Valkyria Chronicles
Valkyria Chronicles 4
Dark Souls Remastered
Splatoon 2 Octoling Expansion
XC2 DLC
The World Ends With You
Possibly Dragonball FighterZ?
Overcooked 2
And probably a few more I missed and that will be announced between now and then. Shelves won't exactly be bare just because we aren't seeing first party retail releases for a whole 6 weeks.
Yeah it's generally OK overall. I don't doubt the system. Will continue to sell but I definitely hoped for slightly more thirdparty support and a first-party line-up that didn't rely solely on the two big hitters, that are surprisingly late in the year. There could be something else yet I suppose but maybe Nintendo think the online launch and the DLC will fill the gaps.
