All this constant EA bashing... you do realise they don't actually kill anyone, right?
Only peoples hopes and dreams.
They don't buy out all these talented developers and then just lock them in a box so they can't ever make games again.
Closing a studio doesn't stop anyone making 'interesting' games. EA just don't want to subsidise it.
A publisher doesn’t subsidise games - they just underwrite the costs of production and absorb some of the risks but they should ultimately make a profit.
Starting afresh with a tiny team and no credit history means you can’t be as ambitious. Those creative (now) indie developers can eventually get back to the levels of budget their games would naturally justify but takeovers and shuttering by a company like EA sets them back a decade.

@Tsurii That's the problem, everyone starts at the bottom regardless of skill, so matchmaking is hard until time settles things. Doesn't matter what your rank is, if you want to play online and win you gotta practice, practice, practice and bring your A-game no matter what.

What do you think happens with a buy out? These lovely innocent talented indie devs we all cherish... they sell out, they take the cash, they compromise their creative capability to get their hands on that dirty money EA waves at them. It's their choice. If they choose not to use that loot to start a new studio, that's up to them. But it's all in their hands.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit Correction, ''they'' (i.e. the people that work there) don't decide that, it's the CEO of said company who takes the money and sells his company.
So concerning the Mario Tennis Aces demo, are there specific times each day that I can only play, or can i play anytime during the June 1st-3rd period? No where I have looked has talked about start and end times each day for the demo, and when I finally had time just a little bit ago to play, it said the service was offline for the tournament. Any ideas, or is this something on my end?

@MisterPi I agree 100%
O probably would've bought 4 or 5 of those already but wired is instant deal breaker for me as well. So many great designs but I honestly would never go back to wired if given an option no matter how good they looked.
Idk why these 3rd party accessory manufacturers are so hell bent on wired Switch controllers.
Just because we're Nintendo gamers doesn't mean we're oblivious to technological advancements. We like wireless controllers the same as anyone else, ya know. Just because we appreciate all things retro doesn't mean we want to literally game like it's 1987

Well at least someone is rolling in a pile of awesome right now 😉 You've got all the wired controllers you could ever want being made for Switch.

And... suddenly Sega Ages makes me feel like we hit the jackpot. Because the alternative... would have been that.
You get what you pay for, as the saying goes. No wonder it was so cheap. They probably figured there aren't nearly as many people who buy retro games on other platforms so it wasn't really worth the investment, they just cobbled together a hodgepodge pile of roms with barely functional emulation and slapped a $30 price tag on it, hoping people would bite based on price alone.

@IceClimbers When it comes to getting the hang of the energy-based moves, I find it helps to focus on one at a time, basically, decide if you're going to be a zone shot attacker or zone speed defender. And forget about trick shots until you have everything else down pat, AND have an understanding of your opponent's patterns.
Also do not forget about lobs (A->B or leftstick forward+X) and drop shots (B->A or left stick back+X) for people who have a tendency to play at the net or in the back, respectively.
