I believe Star Fox Grand Prix is real. And no, I don't think it's a spin off, but rather Retro's interpretation of what Star Fox should be. A genre change doesn't necessarily make it a spin off (see: God of War).

I imagine they started making it before they had their hands on Switch hardware, and before they found out sales for Skyrim/Doom (are they good for Switch? I think they were happy with them?). I think this is another case of "eh, started it before we even knew what we'd be working with"
If that's the case I assume that the other rumors about it just being the cross platform battle royale mode to be likely as well. As long as they don't price it the same as the full versions, I'd be fine with that. But they will.
@MisterPi Development for RAGE 2 started in 2012 and was paused for awhile right? So that sounds reasonable, considering it's been in development longer than Doom or Wolfenstein 2. Still who knows, we may see another Panic Button port.
@link3710 Much rather have any version of Fallout first but we shall see if Bethesda is serious about being on Switch day one with this. Like you said though, hard to tell when it's been in development for so long.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
For now. I don’t trust publishers to release Switch info in a timely manner anymore. But I dont want to end up double dipping any more. I have already done so a few times. (Okami, crash, ys) so I will give them a year after the twins before I go buy anything that could be multiplat.

Sorry to slightly diverge the discussion here, but I have a question for those of you with a Switch. Can you save games and game data initially to the Switch internal memory, later get a microSD card, and then transfer the games and game data from the Switch internal memory to the microSD card? For example, can I buy Splatoon 2 digitally to the Switch internal memory, buy an microSD card later, and then transfer the Splatoon game data to the SD card without starting over?
Also, when you do get an SD card, how does the Switch interpret it? In other words, can you only save games and game data to the SD card once you have it, or can you save data to both the internal storage and SD card?
@shadow-wolf Save game data is stored solely on the internal storage. Once you get a MicroSD all games are saved to the SD card, though any you downloaded prior to that will remain on storage and you will need to delete and re-download them to get them on the SD Card.
Though randomly some update data cant decide where it wants to go

I posted this in the Wolfenstein II article but I guess here I have better chance of finding the answer.
Could someone explain to me this:
If I download the 2nd half of the game on my SD card. Could I make a backup of that file(files) and then in the future use that backup to play the game without internet?
I mean I have the cartridge and have the download part on SD card away. If I combine them could I play the game off the cart + the extra stuff without having internet?
Is this how it works or I am very wrong?
I ask this because I do not have SD card and I do not download games for now. I know about the digital games but I do not know if my account will play any role in this extra MANDATORY download.
Currently I am testing this theory with Skyrim on cartridge and its updates on 2GB SD card. I want to know if the mandatory updates and data are NOT locked behind my Nintendo account. I can just put my Skyrim cartridge (or Wolfenstein for example) and the 2GB SD card in different Switch and they will work right from the start without Internet connection?
Update: It worked for Skyrim. Now I need to know if it will work with a games that can't be played right from the cartridge.
@YummyHappyPills Oh ok. So you can redownload to the SD card without losing the save. Can you access both games downloaded to the internal storage and games downloaded to the SD card, or can you only access games on the SD card?
I just updated Skyrim on my 2GB SD card. Put the SD card in my PC copy/pasted the Nintendo folder on my PC and deleted it from the SD card. Then I put is back in my Switch too se if the update prompt will activate and it did.
Then again I put the SD card in my PC copied the Nintendo folder. Back to the Switch and Skyrim did not want to download anything.
This is nice little workaround for people that want their physical collection to stay physical and not require internet. There is the annoying thing with changing multiple SD cards but it is the same as having 2 cartridges for one game.
Now only if someone could test the same thing with L.A. Noir or some other game that requires this stuff. Multiplayer DooM and stuff.
