I was in the mood to start a thread so here we go. What are your top 5 most ancitipated Switch games. It can include announced games, or just games that you can be reasonably sure are coming but have yet to be announced (like the next game in a long-running franchise). 1 is most anticipated, 5 is least.
Mine are:
1- Breath of the Wild 2 2- Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition 3- Mario Odyssey 2 4- Metroid Prime 4 5- Bayonetta 3
Would love another 3d Mario or kart but can’t see one coming.
3D Mario is almost guaranteed given how well Odyssey sold (it's the best selling 3D Mario game ever), how early it released in the Switch lifecycle, and how much potential the capture ability has to be extended.
I'd say there's a good chance we get MK9 on Switch too, but I guess there's a chance they won't.
@Dezzy Also helps that there was no DLC at all for Odyssey, which means they're more interested in a new game than just DLC. Who knows what that would bring.
MK9, however, I really do not want until the next system. Make that a launch day title, instead.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
Even if there was a Mario Kart 9 I wouldn't be lining up for it. More than enough Mario Kart available currently. I wouldn't complain about some more DLC however.....
Current most Hype for confirmed games, no particular order:
Bayonetta 3
Animal Crossing
Breath of the Wild 2
Metroid Prime 4
Overwatch, not sure if I'm getting it yet but awesome that it's coming

1. Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition - A remaster of my 2nd favorite game with new content, and I can now share the experience thanks to the Switch's media features
2. Animal Crossing New Horizons - The crafting mechanics and more atmospheric world detail could lead to Wild World being replaced as my go to for an Animal Crossing fix
3. Breath of the Wild 2 - Breath of the Wild is outstanding, so a follow up to that experience is a must have
4. Pokemon Sword & Shield - I'm really into shiny hunting right now and most of the new Pokemon have looked great to me
5. Metroid Prime 4 - I've beaten every Metroid game and this one might finally bring back Sylux as more than just a cameo
"The secret to ultimate power lies in the Alimbic Cluster."
1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
3. Luigi's Mansion 3
4. Metroid Prime 4
5. Xenoblade Chronicles - Definitive Edition
Panel de Pon/puzzle league. It’s just one of those games that should really always be on a new Nintendo console in less than 6 months after launch since it’s clearly coming at some point.
I think I actually prefer it to Tetris for a quick mindless 5-10 minute play. It’s such a shame that Nintendo released the SNES version with the gorgeous Yoshis Island artwork under the name “Tetris Attack” so it can never be reissued. It’s my number 1 most wanted game for the SNES app.
“Puzzle League 99” isn’t quite what I’m after but I’d certainly take it.
As an aside I’d also take the inevitable “Dr Mario 99” that must be odds on for a release next year.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,241 games (as of March 23rd, 2024)

Ooh, forgot that Vampire game & Brigandine, @Magician .... Don't know enough to be sure if they're in my top 5, though
RPG maker isn't exactly a game, since you'll be able to get the free player for games created in it That's probably my most anticipated release, though
1. Xenoblade Chronicles Definitive Edition
2. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore
3. Dragon Quest XI S
4. Daemon X Machina
5. Luigi's Mansion 3
Sure 3 and 4 are already out but I accepted a month ago I can't just buy everything day 1 especially with how insane these months are going. If I wasn't concerned about the future of the Zelda franchise, I would've waited on Link's Awakening too and that would've been ranked 2nd.

I hold a lot of nostalgia for Master of Monsters and Dark Wizard, which is why I'm high on Brigandine. RPG Maker, it's true that it's more of a creation tool than a game, but I haven't experienced the series since the original on PS1 so I'm excited to create my own story again. Vampire: The Masquerade, I admit...I've had a passing interest in the tabletop rpg, so having a boiled-down version of the fifth edition rules will be nice.
I think both Shin Megami Tensei V and Metroid Prime 4 are 2021 releases (or later), otherwise they'd be in my top five. BotW 2, Pokemon S/S, Luigi's Mansion 3...definitely top-ten though not top-five for me. Then there are the lower profile games, Indivisible, Atelier Ryza, Dusk Driver, Rune Factory 5, and the VA-11 Hall-A sequel titled N1RV Ann-A...would round out my top-fifteen.

1. Animal Crossing New Horizons
2. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2
3. Ace Attorney 7
4. Pokemon Sword/Shield (this would be further up, but the lack of National Dex killed a lot of my hype)
Those are the only ones I'd say I'd for sure buy if I have the money. Luigi's Mansion 3 could be #5, but I'm in no rush to get it.
