Choice is always good. If you don't want something, don't buy it. It gets annoying when people say that since they don't like something, nobody should have it.
I'm completely avoiding their recent Need for Speed game due to how microtransactions work on it. However, I won't try to stop other people from enjoying it.
EA's business practices are cancerous to the industry. Furthermore, I don't think that most people who play EA games like Battlefield or FIFA buy many other games. The people I know that play those games usually don't play anything else. Maybe - maybe - one or two at the side, but that's it. So it's not like having EA games on your system attracts gamers that play a lot of other stuff as well. That's the thing about EA games, they are designed in such a way that gamers spend most of their time on their games, and their games alone, until the next installment comes out and they move over. Year after year, after year.
Same thing can be said about Activision.
Ideally, no one should be buying current games from EA considering their approach to video games. I'm reasonable to allowing people to play games they enjoy, but there should be a point where they just shouldn't support an overly scummy business.
@premko1
Hey, you have no right to forbid me to buy EA games such as The Sims 4 !
If you sick with EA, fine !
But, NEVER EVER Forbid people to buy EA games, especially The Sims 4, my Beloved game from EA !!
And if i buy any EA games, so what ?!
Will it kill you ?!
Although EA games on Switch could potentially attract more people, I think that it actually wouldn't matter either way. Armbouncer already glazed over this idea, but most people who play EA games are mainly only playing them because they only like sports games (and sometimes shooters as well), so you basically have this giant audience of people who only care about the new Madden or FIFA or Battlefield, and for the most part they don't really care about microtransactions cause again, for the most part these are the same people that also play a ton of basic mobile games. They see microtransactions all the time, it's pretty meaningless to the average EA player.

EA isn't NEEDED on Switch, but its presence would make the console more attractive to some gamers. More people buy the console ---> greater install base ---> more reason for third-part developers to jump in ---> more games become available ---> more value for everyone.
@NintenNinja16
Don't forget, there are A Lot of audiences who Adore The Sims franchises from EA.
EA games are not just Fifa , Madden and Star Wars only.
Meh, EA isn't important for a consoles success if other 3rd parties support it too specifically Ubisoft who have of course partnered up with Nintendo to do Mario + Rabbids.
Seems like a toxic relationship tbh. Like sure they may produce games you enjoy, but in order to get those games and the mere possibility of more you have to support their manipulative actions and go along with it.
@Anti-Matter I understand why you love the gameplay of The Sims, I really do. But doesn't all the DLC bother you? Wouldn't you rather want the core game to be complete? The Sims goes really overboard with expansion packs, stuff packs and DLC if you ask me.
