Hey guys, didn't see a thread for the remake. Figured I'd start one as it was one of my most hyped games from e3. One thing that concerned me was on Amazon it listed the remake as digital only. Surely it'll be physical, i hope. Any updates for the game let's put them here 😊
Haven't watched Treehouse footage yet, but the trailer looked cool. It'll probably be one I pick up on PS4 though, unless they (unlikely) censor some aspect of it on that platform.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
That's probably because most of the discussion wound up on the Mana (Seiken Densetsu) Fan Thread, where we also could talk about the collection and other games in the franchise.
Not that a dedicated thread is a bad thing, I'm just giving context.

Shoot sorry about that. I typed in trials of mana on the search tab and nothing came up, I was hoping something mana would be a hit but I didn't see anything so i figured there was nothing there.
The trifecta of 2020 JRPG Remake masterpieces: Xenoblade Chronicles, Trials of Mana and Final Fantasy VII. And honestly I can’t decide if I’m more excited for Xenoblade or Trials (FF is incomplete so, unfortunately it’s not quite as high up on the hype-o-meter).
But it’s still a ways off. April 24, I believe. Will come back to talk shop when April rolls around...

@Snaplocket
Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my fave series of all time, possibly fave JRPG series ever (other being Final Fantasy). Xenoblade X is one of my faves of all time, Xenoblade 2, while not quite as good, is one of my faves of all time, same for Torna, and Xenoblade 1, though I’ve only played 10 hours (twice, once on Wii and again on 3DS), was every bit as good as the other 3 based on my time with it, but more importantly confirmed by my brother (whose opinion I trust without question) who, to this day, says it’s one of his faves of all time.
If only we could get Lost Odyssey and The Last Story on Switch. We need more Sakaguchi. But I’m not complaining. Xenoblade Chronicles HD is now my #1 hyped game release for next year aside from Trials of Mana. Unless Metroid Prime 4 drops or we get a new Monster Hunter.
But I think we can at least agree on the fact that Trials of Mana looks awesome! Soooo much better than the Secret of Mana Remake (which I still question why we haven’t seen a Switch release- I still want it on Switch... maybe they don’t want to put a bad taste in people‘s mouth before this game releases and will port it afterward). This is a game I never even thought about wanting because I never actually thought it would get localized. When we got the collection announced I was ecstatic, and that in and of itself was pretty astounding news. But to get a full on remake on top of it? Just incredible. With Tokyo Mirage Sessions in January, Gods and Monsters in February, Animal Crossing in March (and FF7, which I may actually end up playing, we’ll see), and Trials in April, I’m all set until e3, as those are all some really meaty games.

What is of interest is the last offering does anyone know what what kinda of DLC they are referring to?
Enix EU has this:
Pre-order Trials of Mana to receive the Rabite Adornment DLC item!
I see the NA version has this:
Pre-order Trials of Mana and receive in-game accessory!
Pre-order Trials of Mana and receive Rabite adornment in game accessory to gain more exp after a battle up to level 10
Even though I'm an rpg fan I have nearly zero interest for this release. We now have Seiken Densetsu 1-3 with the Collection of Mana. Other than this being another Switch release to eventually add to the collection, I don't see a reason to buy it. Never mind that the Secret of Mana remake wasn't well received.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,247 games (as of April 15th, 2024)

Depends, @Magician .... I played Adventures & Secret of Mana on Android, then got the remake of latter on Vita I liked it a lot, being weird but skipped the collection, so I'll get ToM remake, personally
@BruceCM
I have watched from Youtube about Secret of Mana PS4 unboxing.
I have watched the Unboxing process from each region (Japan, USA and Europe).
From what did i watched just now:
1. Japan version had booklets / brochures inside. No idea if support English text.
2. USA version has Nothing inside.
3. Europe version has some brochures inside.
Should i choose the Europe version since it has better back cover design than USA version ?
What do you think about Secret of Mana for a beginner of Seiken Densetsu franchises ?
Well, most complains about remake were things they have tried to address or things people who played original didn't like being changed, @Anti-Matter So, you probably wouldn't have most of their issues, at least! I don't bother much about nice covers but if it's worth importing for that, it's an option
I'll be honest, I really hate Secret of Mana. I am forcing myself to enjoy it but the plot is kind of jumbled together. I am not a huge fan of attack, wait, and attack again. It just seems kind of annoying for the pacing of an action RPG, especially for the speed in which you run. I also have no idea what the items do, which that is kind of odd in itself. The inventory system is also kind of cumbersome. Also moving through areas is tretcherous because I never know what is going to eventually hit me since I can't see off the side of the screen.
I am going to move onto Trials of Mana in hopes that is superior. I just feel for the time, in an age where dragon quest, chrono trigger, and final fantasy were huge the whole cumbersome inventory system shouldn't have been an issue.
@Chunkboi79 I thought I was the only one who wasn't into secret. I got to the last boss after about 25 hours of playing. I was so under leveled, which made no sense considering I flew Thru the game and every boss that after a couple days of not being able to beat the last boss, I just gave up. I had no drive to go back and level up since the rest of the game was just meh for me. The wait and attack was just ok, like it better than turn base rpgs but still, it annoyed me at times when i would not be able slash away at an enemy.
Now final fantasy adventure, that was an awesome game and i loved it to bits. I've yet to play trials but i plan on doing so in a few months when things slow down for switch. I'm still super excited for this remake though.
