You can still get discounts for select Wii U and 3DS games by using silver and gold coins on My Nintendo. Still nothing for Switch? Is the ability to use gold coin towards your NSO subscription and a 1-to-1 expenditure on games all there will ever be? The current system is...fine, but with each passing decade it feels as though Nintendo is rewarding its loyal customers less and less, all while quietly asking for more.

I rarely bother with the wallpapers and just let most of my platinum coins expire these days. Usually there are better wallpapers out there that can be obtained for free from the interwebs anyway.

I'm a Nintendo fan, but that doesn't mean I'm blind to their faults.
