shoot I missed the Nintendo E3, of all things to miss right? I forgot how early they were starting compared to the rest. But Pieced together some stuff from nintendo's YT channel uploads. Looks to be about what I'd expect, they seem to like to debut things on their own schedule and not feel like they have to show off everything at a game conference. However seeing Fire Emblem on Switch was unexpected to be sure. Also really good to finally see Hollow Knight, and it makes sense because it sounded like the devs were working very closely with Nintendo to get it right on the Switch.

Speaking of Knights, why in the heck doesn’t Shovel Knight have a physical release with all of the DLC?
I would need to do some research, King of Cards might not be out yet (haven't been keeping up) and I had heard there was possibly another addition to the game after King of Cards (like an Arena mode?). Not sure on that part, just what I have heard. So a complete physical edition might be a little ways out still.

Can't say I'm impressed with that E3. In my opinion, a lot more could have been done. I get that Smash is a big deal, but there are people like me looking forward to other things aside from that.

Ah; I didn’t know they were still updating regularly with content. That would make for a stellar physical Switch release; will all the content included. Yeah; it’s gonna be a while if that’s the case.
I think I have a sealed copy of it for PS4. I’ve never played it. I’ve held off waiting for a physical Switch copy. It’s hard to do, but I’m patient.

Alright this is confusing. It looks like the Xenoblade Chronicls 2: Torna The Gold Country is getting a physical release. I thought this would just be DLC? However, Gamestop has it listed for $40, but Amazon NA has it listed for $60. I'm not sure what's going on here.

Does anyone know if LRG has released sales numbers for their switch games to this point? I’d be interested to see how many people have been jumping in to these pre-orders

I agree there could have been more focus on other IP's instead of so much smash (Metroid, Pikmin)...on the other hand, it felt like Nintendo systematically attacked, stabbed, and killed with fire every rumor and some fan wishes about this smash bros. game I came across.

On the Gamestop website it says
"Retail version contains download code for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Expansion Pass. Expansion Pass only playable with Xenoblade Chronicles 2 game (sold separately)."
So while it is available at retail, it is still DLC and the case just has a code in it.

Makes sense. But then why the price discrepancy between Amazon and Gamestop? Regardless, I'm tempted to buy the retail version because I own the NA SE of Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The one that doesn't come with a standard edition box along with a steel book, like the EU SE of XC2 does.

Where are you guys getting the idea that the DLC will come physical?
I mean often times games put codes on plastic cards usually for ingame currencies or monthly/yearly subscriptions. Maybe it will be like that. I highly highly doubt this is some sort of nuts situation where they are putting codes inside of switch game boxes.
Seems to me just some confusion. Still, time will only tell. But I'm pretty sure its just a little card with a code on it.
@hirokun My guess is that it will be like the Death Squared physical release. A full, regular Switch case with art, and inside instead of a game card it has a little piece of cardboard with an eShop code on it.

Because Amazon and Gamestop aren't listing it as a download code, there's actual box art. Like Death Squared, this is just a download code in a shelf display game case. But I'm confused about the price discrepancy. $40 at Gamestop, $60 at Amazon, for DLC priced at $30 on the eShop.
It appears as though Nintendo is charging $10-$30 more for just a game case. It's weird.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country is currently #15 on the Amazon Switch games "best sellers" list. That's a lot of people who are going to be furious about their "physical" copy being only a download code in a box. A $30 value priced at $60 and no game cartridge.

This is going to get ugly. Where's my popcorn?
wow that is the most confusing thing I've ever seen. I guess we wait. Amazon probably just doing what they do and trying to put something up ASAP and then worry about details later. But just in case....as much as I hate to say it, I'd go with gamestop. $20 is nothing to sneeze at.
