Just got the Liar Princess and the Blind Prince in. I got 2 versions.
The Famitsu edition and also the game with a little amazon exclusive thing(which it seems amazon Japan does with a lot of games). No special boxes or anything for either one, so that feels bad. There is a third version you can get only direct from Nippon Ichi's Japanese online store that has a canvas of the characters, which I did not get, and now glad I didn't because I doubt it has a box either.
The Amazon exclusive is the little art book that I show all the pictures of, and honestly is my favorite thing. Everything else goes with the Famitsu edition. That is a fabric wall scroll, not a poster. Also the...er....red and gold thing appears to be some sort of thing you fold over to hold maybe some paper in? Not sure. But it is made of that kind of fake leather thing, and its pretty flexible. The gold parts are shiny too. Then the microfiber cloth is...well a microfiber cloth. In the West I guess we are used to having soundtrack and artbook, but neither of those are found within the famitsu edition.
Anyhow let that help you make your choice. Also not going to lie I might like to sell off the famitsu edition. Wall scroll is really nice, but I don't need 2 versions and I love the little artbook more.
So I hope my documentation helps everyone here make a choice at least. I'm going to pop in the game now and see if I can actually play it reasonably.
EDIT: Jeez, I don't use imgur much. I guess since I posted the gallery like 5 minutes ago as I was writing this post 100ish people saw it? I don't get imgur man, but I hope it helps other collectors.
hey guys I just made a new thread for Liar Princess to talk about it more, but tl;dr its playable and solid at that, if you have to guess at the story a bit.
Anyhow, happy with my purchase and to add another unique title to my collection.
I was the one who contacted PlayAsia. They even told me they had even shipped out a US copy to a customer already. Believing they somehow had stock, I purchased a US copy (cause, again, they said they had a copy. I still have the email).
Here's the kicker...I haven't received any email yet that you all have. Not only do I need to check on my order status, now I need to contact them and cancel my order if I can't manually do it. Really chaps my hide, telling me they had them and had even shipped one, and now telling people it's cancelled.
EDIT: I logged in to my PlayAsia account. The message was in there, and had apparently been sent sometime early this morning. They too informed me they couldn't stock it. I asked for a cancel and refund, as the purchase already went through on my credit card. Guess we will see how that goes.
Here's the question...if they REALLY had sent at least one copy out, as they claimed, does that mean A) there's at least ONE copy floating out there somewhere and B) were copies made in limited supply and they cancelled, pulling back all remaining stock? Maybe it was never really made but there's a part of me that believes somewhere, at least one person has a copy. It's like that Sega 32x CD game that was apparently only released in Brazil and there's two known copies in existence.
Looking at the UK-only releases this month, I think I'm going to skip Moto GP 18, Chicken Range, and Vegas Party. Chicken Range and Vegas Party look like shovelware. Moto GP 18, while being a good series of racing games, is an annual franchise. I'll wait for a price drop.
However, Aragami Director's Cut looks really good.

^ And that is why I really don’t like dealing with Play-Asia. Pretty terrible customer service and things take over a month to get to me with no sort of tracking whatsoever. It’s basically just a gamble.
@The_Legend77 ...... I seriously doubt Nintendo would have made one cart. Even the test runs are done without the sticker on the game so it’s highly unlikely. I may would trust another retailer with that info but Play Asia got it wrong. Only chance is if the developer had review copies for approval
I'm really disappointed with Play Asia so far. I ordered a few games back in April. I can see each game listed as, "in stock, shipped within 24 hours". But my order from April hasn't shipped yet?
If I don't see an email update today I'm probably going to ask for a refund. We'll see.
On a side note, Xbite Games has removed international shipping as an option from their eBay store. But at least I was able to complete an order via Paypal at shop4megastore. Just...weird stuff going on today.

That’s great news! Glad you can order from them and save on the shipping
I rarely use them (PlayAsia) anymore. They are expensive and since I'm not going for many Japanese releases, I'll focus on sites like shop4megastore. They've given great service so far plus they're a lot cheaper.
I will not use play Asia at all. The last time I ordered anyting from them was quite a few years ago. It was way overpriced in the shipping took forever.
Starting to get worried about all these horror stories. I ordered my owlboy LE through them because they were the first with the US version. I hope they aren’t as bad as I’ve heard
Who is the best e-retailer to use for Japan releases which apparently is not Play Asia? I want to get the Japan editions of Rockman X 1 and Rockman X 2. shop4megastore looks to have either US or PAL versions.
The bad juju continues. My order for Happy Birthdays arrives, only the envelope is empty and Amazon customer service is down. I'll have to check back every day until that's replaced. Then Shaq Fu arrives...demolished. Game case is in pieces, and the insert is wrecked as well. And lastly, on the day I planned to refund my Play Asia order... it's shipped.

@Belexes Prime is regional, so you won't be able to use it. Shipping from amazon directly is the cheapest when possible still. Otherwise you'd have to pay for a forwarding service's fees.
Nin-Nin has an option for them to email you when the item is back in stock. Keep in mind I've got a few emails about it but only the day after. I would still suggest it as maybe it'll show quicker than it did for me. I have no idea how I stumbled on it today but I did. I only ordered one but I'll keep you in mind.
