At some point in time this thread turned into the collectors' club.
Honestly - I would have thought that was the intent of this thread, from the start. Why go through the effort of researching and listing every available physical game for the Switch, if it wasn't solely about collecting?
Frankly, this thread has been an AMAZING resource for me!! It's been the ONLY place I've been able to reliably find (and track) physical Switch releases and in particular, to ensure I don't miss out on any limited release games that I'll regret, as a pay double and triple for on eBay...
I have been using this thread to track physical releases and am not a collector, but I do appreciate all the other information it has provided. I am trying to avoid e-shop purchases when I can and hold out for physical releases. I am only buying games I know I will play and those that have scored well on metacritic - with more of a focus on 2D and 3D platformers which is my favorite genre.
I do know what it is like to collect and try and stay current - at the pace things are going with the Switch, your wallets must be struggling to keep up! It's great to see the Switch thriving.
I'm the type to only buy physical for games I'm interested in ( Right now only 5 physical games, and 1 eshop game purchased, and I regret buying 2 of my physical games...)
But I enjoy watching what is happening in this thread, so much passion! It's great. Good luck you all, I wish I can at least collect as much CE/LE as I can, but not with my current pay xD

Maybe somebody likes to make lists? I mean, making a list of what's coming out doesn't necessarily mean you're going to buy them all. I follow upcoming movie news almost obsessively, but I have no intention of going to see all the movies.
It's a great resource either way. I've been following this thread from day one to help plan my purchases. I prefer physical to digital, so if I know something is going to have a physical release I almost never buy it digitally.

@JasmineDragon - You also have to consider that MacGruber is only one man behind the list to begin with, and his life (like any of us) can get busy. In that silence the discussions started and eventually led to the fully fledged topic of collecting came to be. Does two things; 1) keeps the list current with news of what's happening and 2) keeps the thread current and attractive.
If nothing filled its silence the drive to maintain would have died sooner for everyone.
Out of curiosity, does anyone have a reliable source to order the German-only releases from? Tiny Trooper Joint Ops XL, Tales of the Tiny Planet, Gem Smashers, etc. There's one listing on eBay, but it's a bundle that's listed at around triple the msrp price plus shipping.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,260 games (as of June 15th, 2024)

@Paraka Yeah, I didn't mean it in a bad way. It's a lively and interesting thread that I still follow almost every day, thanks to all the collectors contributing their latest discoveries. I like to hear about the limited editions even though I'll probably never buy most of them.

@Magician If you need any regional games, the first place to start is that region's amazon. amazon.de is the german amazon. Orders fulfilled by amazon ship internationally. I hope that helps.

I was just going to suggest this - I've had VERY positive experiences with amazon.de for my German games. Not EVERY item will ship to the US, but you can definitely find them if you're persistent. I got 3D Mini Gold, Ostwind das Spiel, and Tiny Planet - all from Amazon...

Tiny Planet and Das Spiel so far for me, looking for Gem Smashers still.
I was under the assumption that Nintendo required minimum runs of 5k, but maybe that’s not true due to SRG’s new 3k run? Something else going on here?
I don’t display my games as they live in a cabinet, but I have loads of stuff in boxes and I’m running out of space. What do you all do with your stuff when not displaying it? I’m too scared for the garage, basement or attic.
Finally, knowing that West of Loathing will be released by LRG, is anybody else excited about a black and white steelbook?

I was a little surprised by the production runs numbers, too - I was under the impression there was a 5k minimum, as well but apparently that's not the case?
This is the cabinet I use for my games (I actually have two of them): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001KW0BCO/
It's no longer available, but I'm sure you can find something similar. I paid $250 for each cabinet, but there is LOADS of room in this thing!! The shelves are all adjustable, so I can store games, special edition "big boxes" - hell, I've even got a few console boxes in one of them!! So yeah, I would just look for a nice big cabinet like these. If you've got young kids (like I do), you want a DOOR with a LOCK!!
I really like the look of the cabinet and seems like it’s not too bulky. I’m looking to upgrade my entrrtainment center so I’ll see if I can find a companion cabinet in that style.
@TalonMan I was actually looking into getting the exact same cabinet. How’s the wood quality on that bad boy? Is it like ikea grade or a bit better?
It's Ikea like (some assembly required) - but for $250, you can't really expect oak!!
...and honestly - it was the functionality (and space, of course) that I was going for, when I got them. My kids were 9yr and 2yr olds at the time, and I ABSOLUTELY insisted on a locking door.
That's definitely the one feature I highly recommend for any collector. Even if you don't really need the lock, I would definitely get one with a door at the very least - it helps keep dust to a minimum, and is invaluable protection against common "environmental hazards" that may exist in almost any home (pets with clawing or urinating habits, drunk or high friends with their clumsy "oh dude, what's this???" as they tear open one of your finest pieces, etc.).
And with a cabinet like this - it's big enough to display your stuff, protect your stuff, and still give you easy access to your stuff (if/when you want to actually play some of the games).
My one cabinet current has about 200+ DS games, 75 3DS games, at least 100 Wii games, 50 WiiU, and easily over 100 Switch games - along with many accessory boxes (controllers, Wii accessories, etc. - I'm a bit of a pack-rat and save EVERY box!!!)... ...and there's still PLENTY of room for more!
