Topic: Super Smash Bros Ultimate Online Matches

Have fun smashing!

Once the game arrives (I ordered a physical copy) I'd love to play some online games with fellow NLifers, like the old Goldeneye Wii days (most won't remember that). Should be fun!

@ReaderRagfish Well dang, that server maintenance notice just popped up. We’d probably all do better to have scheduled times where an arena is open. Maybe after more folks get off we can all figure out times

I might be playing online stuff with viewers after the game comes in and school ends. I might be down for playing with some of ya'll on Nintendolife afterward if you don't join the stream. So don't worry, I'll be back soon! Also, does anyone know if you can use spirits in online?

@MysticGengar You CAN use spirits online, yes! I’m gonna try to make an arena for us folks this evening

Can you use them in random online matches? I REALLY want to make an overpowered fighter.

@MysticGengar LOL maybe? I think you can choose to create or search for that, yeah

@MysticGengar I’m pretty sure you cannot use spirits or the fighter buff/weaken feature in random online.

I get the buff/weaken stuff, but it doesn't make sense restricting one of the main mechanics. It should at least be a setting you can turn on for your matches.

I'm up for some Smash Ult anytime. Friend code is in sig. Looking forward to having regular Smash mates

@Yubacore I can download discord. Used it before. There should be a Nintendolife smash discord. Would be a good idea.

I still think a discord should be made for NintendoLife Smash Ult. Just for knowing when ppl are wanting to smash and set up lobbies and whatnot.

I doubt I even survive if I went into this fray.

@SwitchForce You’d be pleasantly surprised! While I was waiting on @ReaderRagfihs today I played as Ridley against a random Isabelle and won a 5 stock. Then played two matches with RR and it was 1-1. (Don’t take his Swordfighter, Fishstick, lightly haha)

Yeah, I have to train some fool at 11 at the admin building, but assuming they’re not a lost cause I should be able to wrap up by 12-1230ish.
