@toiletduck Yeah, we’ve unleashed the inner nerd. I didn’t play 4 as much online, but I def will now. I think there’s plenty single player content, though.

His back air is still powerful in 4, but hard for me to do consistently.

It's been shipped to my store so I'm pretty confident I can pick it up tomorrow. That last day is going to be hell.

Wish I had the same level of hype as everyone else. I can't remember the last time a game(or anything) got me as excited as I see people this week. And I'm graduating college! But! I'm still pretty excited to finally get my hands on the first HD portable Smash brothers

@PikPi When I was in college, the unofficial English translation for Mother 3 from Tomato was set to release. At the time, I worked at a chain deli. I wasn't paying proper attention, and caught the tip of my thumb in a slicer. It was only about 1/4 inch in hindsight, but the surface area could only be cleaned and bandaged. I was so excited for the translation that I learned to Southpaw a keyboard.

I work in a medical office now, and I'm not touching any envelopes or staplers today. It's hard, because it's the day of the agency's billing cycle. Ness protect me.

Just unlocked for me so looks like midnight launch (as someone mentioned is the norm for 1st party titles) for all in case anyone was playing the ‘eshop guessing game’!

Early start tomorrow so can’t play much (boooo!) now but i’ll get around to it - hope everyone enjoys, especially the smash nuts!

@HobbitGamer i’m very much a noob (played maybe 5 matches in my lifetime total?) so pretty overwhelmed right now!

Started with Mewtwo (as my brother suggested Cloud is tricky for new folk!) so will see how I go - as I say, very quick bash is all i have time for! Hope you and the other smash nuts love it - I know the feeling when a new release in a favourite franchise launches, can’t beat it!

@BrainOfGrimlock You'll get the hang of it, dood! With so many characters, you're definitely going to find one you mesh with well. When Smash 64 was the jam, Link was how I learned. He was just slow enough for me to learn how to be more deliberate and work on my dodging. That said, Mewtwo is in my top 5.

@Shizuephan Well, Nintendo did say you could unlock all the fighters in a couple hours. So I'm assuming the VS Match rates are gonna be much better than Brawl and Melee. glares at Ganondorf and Mewtwo

I'm happy there's so much on offer in World of Light, though.

@Shizuephan Oh, that's not too terrible. Seems like just enough to keep it kinda fresh.
I've always enjoyed the adventure modes as a kind of pre-set scenario. It's good that you can still use Spirit Board as a way to unlock spirits without going through World of Light, though.

My Mewtwo plans quickly went out of the window - hadn’t realised so few characters are unlocked to start?! I started with Link anyway...

Won’t say much more for now (nowhere near enough time for a proper opinion) - I obviously enjoyed what i played though! Now for lovely lovely sleep!

Worth noting that the 10 minute cooldown of unlocking characters can be completely bypassed by simply closing the game then reopening it. So if you want to unlock all the characters in 2-3 hours, go for it.

Last day of waiting...got some chores to do before then, so...there's that. lol

As a single-player type I really hope the Spirits are collectable. I mean, we already know certain Spirits can be upgraded so they turn into new Spirits (possibly losing the older ones). And what if there are thousands of Spirits, but you only can hold 500? I want to colect them all, like trophies and stickers!

I almost want to try changing my region or something to get it to unlock early.

Got it unboxed! Waiting to fire up the game until my kids get home from school but the Pro Controller is just gorgeous! The white accents are perfect can't wait to use it! Steel book case is neat, first one I've ever bought. Probably going in a drawer with rest of my switch game cases but it is pretty cool.
